Our stay at Pillows was easily one of the best we've ever experienced and we do travel quite often. From the rich history and stunning interiors to the sumptuous food and perfect location, every aspect of our visit was outstanding. However, it was the exceptional staff that truly set this hotel apart. (Anais, in particular, stands out, but all staff were incredibly kind and genuine.) Their attention to detail and dedication to customer service exceeded all expectations. We truly felt like we were coming home after each day of exploring the city. We can't recommend Pillows highly enough and look forward to returning in the future!

We were upgraded to a fabulous quiet room - large walk in shower, extremely comfortable bed and luxurious linen. Breakfast exceeded expectations - fabulous choice and environment to eat in. The service was exceptional. Would definitely stay again.

The spa was great - towels, robes and slippers provided - not a massive space so could get busy. We had not realised and admittedly, may be did not read details correctly when booking, but the spa is in another building so necessitates you going outside the hotel. Not so easy to just pop down in a robe from hotel room as you had to walk through the hotel, past the restaurant, through the lobby etc. The changing space in the spa is very small and intimate.

Good location. Friendly and efficient staff. LOF restaurant on 2* Michelin level. Extensive breafast buffet. Confortable room.

Tiny pool. Spa & pool accessible through a courtyard. Parking under hotel overpriced, but public parking nearby.

Everything was great from top to bottom! I arrived several hours before check in and my room was not ready yet, but the staff kindly gave me access to the spa with the offer to use the shower and other facilities to freshen up (I had just come off an overnight flight). When I was able to access my room, they upgraded me to a suite! The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and even had a beautiful view. Breakfast at the hotel was abundant and delicious as well. Location was great, a few streets away from the most popular sights (really everything is close by on foot in such a small city). The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Lastly, the price was a great value compared to this level of hotel in other cities. I wish I could’ve stayed longer at this wonderful hotel! If I am even in Ghent again, I know where I will be booking!

Nothing at all. It was superb!

At the beginning we were giving a ground floor room directing the main street- but after asking to be moved we were transitioned to a wonderful room on the 4th floor - very spacious and with beautiful city view. The gym and spa are marvellous The hotel and amenities are so beautiful and location is more than perfect to visit ghent and the Christmas market

The first room we got on the 1st floor, though highly designed- felt dark and without air. However upon request we were transferred to a wonderful room.. Make sure u are not on ground floor facing the street. Breakfast cost more then 30 eur a person so we skipped it

The property was stunning! Everything - the spa, the Bistro (we had both a lunch and a dinner there - superb!), the sumptuous breakfast, the grandeur of the spaces upstairs in the Library and bar area; every detail was thought of, from the orange blossom essential oil burning everywhere to the much appreciated welcome Birthday balloons and chocolate in our room upon arrival! The staff were always so friendly and accommodating. The WhatsApp feature of communication was particularly responsive and easy to use. Excellent stay!

At times the orange blossom essential oil that they burn throughout the Hotel can become a bit overpowering, especially in the Bistro where it’s not really needed, I feel. But it DOES smell lovely in the rest of the hotel!

A splendid and relaxing city boutique hotel with great vibe. The mix of old bourgeois elegance and modern boutique design hotel amenities works very well. Excellent location. Great garden. Delicious food. Fantastic staff and very friendly atmosphere. Quite well managed.

We were not given the room category we booked at first. Fully booked and we checked in last that day. But the hotel compensated and the room we actually stayed in was very nice. A group of bachelor party people were pretty noisy - hotel tried to manage by separating them from other guests.

Nice location, close to old town but in a quiet part of it. Comfortable room and polite and professional staff. We were mostly in and out of the hotel, except breakfasts one morning, I have no ideea to comment about the restaurants or gym or spa. The bistro and restaurant looked nice, but somehow not warm or inviting for us, so we decided to eat out. Looking at other options in the area,i think this was one of the best, so will definitely come back if we ever find ourselves in Ghent again. Beautiful building and even though is modernised, it kept an interesting charm.

I felt breakfast was not good value for money, so just came down once to try it and had something out the next day. Of course, this is a personal observation, as is an important part of a hotel stay for me, so I am always a bit too harsh on this. They offer a reduced price for breakfast if you pre book it, however, my opinion stands for both prices.

Location is excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We have a lovely dinner in the cafe. Beds and apartment were comfortable. Daily housekeeping staff were great at their job.

We had a suite and the lighting was poor. Eventually we realised that by holding the light switches the light would increase but took two days this out. Might be the European energy saving restrictions perhaps as we encountered this issue in other places but even with lamps and lights on in the evening reading was difficult. Better instructions would assist. Quality and speed of wifi was not up to standard expected today or for this type of venue.

Pillows was excellent! We wish we stayed longer in Ghent and we wish we stayed longer at Pillows. The building is beautiful, there a wide archway vestibule before you enter the building, which also leads to the gardens and spa behind the main hotel building. The staff at reception were very friendly. They walked us to the elevator while giving us a little history of the building. They also gave us a Ghent guide, which was very useful. Our room was large but cozy. Inside the room there were two chocolate gifts waiting for us, a little bag of white chocolate pralines and a little box of lactose-free chocolate pralines, both handmade in Ghent. We had notified the hotel that one of us needed lactose free breakfast options and we were delighted to have lactose free chocolates too. Our room had a little balcony, which freshened the room and let in light. The room was very tranquil and yes, the pillows were comfortable as was the bed. The bathroom was really nicely designed. The buffet breakfast had many options and they were very happy to make eggs without dairy. The breakfast staff were very nice. The gardens behind the hotel are a little oasis and fun to explore, especially after the sun goes down. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is just outside the old town, a five-minute stroll, which allows you to enter the fairytale land of Ghent and experience that wow factor. Public transport from the train station gets you close to the hotel and then a 10-to-15-minute walk, depending on which bus you take. We would definitely return to Ghent and to Pillows.
