The hotel is very well kept and the cleaners are amazing. The property always looks clean and fresh when they leave. The owner is very approachable and friendly. I once was unable to reach him but it was understandable as he was travelling abroad on that occasion. It is a very nice and peaceful area. All the local people I met are very polite. I’ve seen some negative reviews and find it disappointing. I think that any future guests need to keep in mind that we can read the reviews prior to booking. The hotel owner does not get any reviews or references of the guests. They can’t possibly know who is moving in. They are however very responsive and deal with any behaviour that upsets the other guests promptly. If you look for a nice, peaceful and safe place to stay- this is the one. Hope it helps. The extra positive- the hotel has got a kitchen and there is a fridge where you can find a nice selection of cereals, bread, butter and milk. It is checked and everything is fresh. Thank you owners for having me here. I love it so much that I am still here and have been here for a week so far.

Gorgeous property in a great location, perfect for the wedding venue we were attending at That Amazing Place. Alan sent me a message with alot of information regarding our early check in we requested and made the the whole process very easy and pleasant! The room itself was gorgeous with the back-lit bed being the main attraction accompanied by the huge sash window letting in tons of light!

An older property must be very hard to maintain especially with a modern bathroom- the bathroom could be a little better in terms of maintenance and upkeep however it did provide everything we needed for our stay - that is just being picky.

We needed a mum and dad break to reconnect away from daily life that's so distracting. This did not disappoint. At a dead end street this was a quiet location not very far from the hustle and bustle of harlow main town. Using a code to get in, you can use the lounge and huge kitchen at the back of the house if you wish. Spacious cosy room with en-suite. Shower was lovely. Had a quiet nights sleep in a relaxing bed. Felt refreshed the next morning we didn't want to leave. We want to go back as it's not too far from home but far enough to get away. Alan was 'on hand' when I rung helping with an enquiry and backed this up with a text and email. It was nice to be able to just have quiet time in a warm cosy room as the rain tried its best outside to dampen our spirits. It did not! Opulent bed made us feel like stars and the headboard was amazing. Very clean 'hotel' and I'd die to have a kitchen that large and spacious. Option to park at rear of home but there was plenty of spaces out the front so we didn't move the car. I'd happily go there any time to just chill and get away from it all. Felt calm and relaxed the next morning, just a shame it was one night only. You help yourself to breakfast - cereal or toast and or yoghurt. Tea and coffee available all the time if required. No kettle etc in the room to do so. Glasses available for a cheeky cava but no wine glasses, but we adapted! Felt like a very upmarket student let. My sons one at uni was not so fancy. If you want peace and quiet this is for you. I don't think anyone else was there with us but I guess you could socialise in the lounge and kitchen if you wanted to. Lovely big old house.

What wasn't to like? No terrestrial tv but we were able to watch our netflix. Toilet had a slight odour from drains but this was I hope due to the heavy rainfall. Light in shower wasn't working! But nice bathroom light meant you could see what you needed to. Loose loo seat that just needs tightening. Didn't ruin our stay, just niggly things that can happen to us all at home!

A HIDDEN GEM Quiet location yet close to major roads. Guest lounge and Kitchen very well equipped and felt like home from home. My room was ideal for me located on the ground floor. Self / remote check in was a new experience for me, and worked fine, after I read my text messages LOL!. TOP TIP Check your email and TEXTS prior to arrival - ALL THE INFO YOU NEED REGARDING CHECK IN AND FACILITIES AVAILABLE ARE CLEARLY EXSPLAINED, IMPRESSED!! Had a few very minor glitches on check in, contacted Alan on number provided and they were sorted in minuets :) again impressed. Good Wi-Fi, important for work! Good choice of TV Channels good for down time. There's also a TV in Guest Lounge, comfy chairs, plenty of books to read or just chill out. COMFY BED Zzzzz! Boutique Style Decor with a Home from Home feel through out for those away from home for work or leisure.. Plenty of choice for Breakfast. Free parking on and off street. ALL IN ALL A HIDDEN GEM - A lot of thought has gone into providing the best guest experience.

Being really picky, A small desk lamp for work desk would be great but not a deal breaker. Some shelving in shower room for toiletries etc., would be a plus, but again not a deal breaker. Soft Close Overhead Door Closers would be a great upgrade to Guest Lounge door and room on ground floor next to mine (Room 2)

The building was beautiful, the location has plenty of parking and the room was spacious. The beed was clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows. The najn light in the room was great. The shared kitchen and lounge have plenty of space and equipment.

The kitchen was directly below my room, it did get noisy with regular guests and residents talking, shouting en route to the kitchen and in the kitchen. Somewhere there is a door that slams and vibrates the entire house. The 'bed side' lights, built into the headboard looked good, though kept timing off and were not bright enough to read a book by.

This is a great idea a combination of hiring a self catered place and b and b. So you have a communal kitchen with fridge, hob and microwave which for breakfast had bread yogurt and cereal and even almond milk! There are cafes and pubs nearby. You can store your own food in the fridge. There is a dining area and lounge. We stayed in room 5 which was spacious with a small en-suite. All you need. And the had ironing boards iron and hairdryers in a cupboard on the landing. Parking is free and if the hotel is full you can park on the road outside. This is excellent value for money. Short drive to the train station into London.

Convenient, clean, reasonable value

Misleading on the website calling it a hotel, as the room was like a hotel room, ( large and en-suite with clean towels) but we expected a proper breakfast and we saw no staff whilst we were there for the weekend. We were texted a key code to get in and where our room and key were. Breakfast was help yourself- cereal, yoghurts and toast. Adequate, but not what we had expected. Normally breakfast included is full breakfast, unless it says otherwise.

I had a great two nights at Pages Hotel & Guesthouse! I really really enjoyed the no staff on-site/self check-in method, everything was quick and simple and I think it felt really homely. Despite some poor reviews, overall I am impressed with my stay. My bed was comfortable and room was clean, and the communal areas were nice too though I didn't use these much. The house is gorgeous and the location is also fine, easy access to Central London and there's a few pubs within walking distance, the Co-op isn't too far away either. Thank you!

The TV in my room didn't work (not sure if it was an issue with the television itself or the batteries in the remote) which was a shame. I also think the rooms would benefit with having a plug-in air freshener to keep them smelling fresh!

The room was lovely, quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bedding clean. The bathroom was definitely on the small side, although the shower was nice and hot. The location was ideal for where I needed to get to

The check-in experience was poor. The instructions probably arrived when I was on the train, but without internet access. It would have been useful to get the instructions 24 hours beforehand. Some nicer coffee and tea other than standard PG Tips would have been appreciated

First of all Alan was so helpful mainly telephone communication, his advice about room location was great. I Was here for my friend's wedding the perfect location & picturesque for pre wedding photos, it was like leaving from somewhere personal if not from home location this was most relaxing. Local amenities are near especially if yu have transport but delivery simple to arrange uber eat etc........ Rooms are spacious just need to look on line or have direct contact for advice if yu want a particular view etc....l am quite particular to my location & view. Alan was patient & real proffesional on all of my enquires at the same time a personal interest to guest having a good experience & grest customer service. Other guests were friendly & conversations such as, how they found the establishment, purpose of visit etc... all positive. Kitchen facilities great next time will be more prepared, there is use of a fridge & microwaves. Definetly 100% recommended & will return.

This was a new experience with no front of House staff, but the instructions sent on how to checkin/breakfast were clear altho some guest tended not to read the text to the end. Having worked in hospitality for many years my friend & myself was happy to help the guest who thought we were staff lol There was a little noise but quickly sorted.
