The concierge are reluctant to give an opinion about places like popular cheap restaurants for example which probably doesn't meet the high standard they feel they need to recommend. When asked a simple question like "are the booth on the street stating tourist information really so" (and they are) I could not get a simple answer of yes or no only "we're recommending our tours" which of course are more expensive.

We stay each New Year Eve because of the hotel program. We look forward to it. The staff are welcoming. The Ladies in Red are super. The large breakfast room upstairs is always a treat and we used to use room service for New Year's Day but have stopped that so we can enjoy the Big Breakfast Room.

The main restaurant is not very elegant and when it is used for the breakfast room we do not feel like we are in a 5 star hotel. When we go there, we feel like we are in a fast food restaurant. Also, the Japanese restaurant is not at all to our liking either. Dining at the hotel used to be much different years ago, and we would often go to the hotel just for dinner out.

Pros: Elevators always available and super quick. Oversized sink (great for filling water kettle/water bottle), wine bottle opener (though weak), good artificial sweetener compared to others in Europe (Splenda/Truvia in USA still better in my opinion), super quick room service (they were knocking on the door while I was hanging up the phone). Staff very eager to please. Great location - walking distance to many attractions, shops, restaurants. Very good size room.

Food at the restaurant, deli, and living room a bit pricey, especially with all the taxes. Water in the living room wasn't complimentary even though we ordered coffee.

From arrival at front door to check out everything was perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful, even to meet them anywhere in hotel always said “Hello”. Our room was so comfortable, clean and spacious. Spa /pool is very well kept, and again the staff are so friendly and helpful especially the young lady at reception. We looked at cheaper hotels but so happy we chose The Kempinski. 5stars all the way.

Could not find anything to dislike. Maybe pool a little small ,but adequate.

The service was excellent. The staff also arranged a solution for the closed down spa area which made our stay even better. We had a fantastic and luxurious room which was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good with lots of options to choose from. And the location is wonderful. Everything is reachable by foot and it is right in the city center.

In the bathroom, there was a long hair in the sink, which could have easily been prevented. Other than that, the cleanliness of the entire hotel was excellent.

Absolutely excellent, there is not one thing that we didn't like. The room was big, well equipped and spotless. The ammenities kit was of a high quality. Breakfast was very rich and tasty. They have rather large underground parking where one would easily find a parking space. They are well situated near the city centre and a metro station. The concierge was very competent and friendly

Location, the size, the design, staff, everything was amazing. Definitely recommend this hotel.

I had a 5 minute phone conversation with the lady in red who’s in charge of all special requests etc about having rose petals on the bed for my wife’s birthday. Came in to the room without them. But we did get a complimentary cake, which was sweet.

This was the best hotel for this trip. The room was really neat and beautiful. We got the view of Budapest Eye!!! One of our rooms is the corner room with a lot of space. The staffs are super friendly, helpful, and professional. The location is the best as it is in the beginning of the walking street in Budapest. We will be back there for sure!!!

The pillow is a bit too soft, but we can ask for more. I could not think of any other bad comment for this hotel.

The breakfast selection was excellent. Hot & cold buffets, omelette station, DIY meusli, lots of bread and pastry choices, and tea & coffee. Wonderful selection of honeys. Staff are prompt and eager to please. But watch out: it gets busy at peak times and you may have to wait a few minutes to be seated. Our suite was clean and well-equipped. Extremely comfortable super king bed with USB charging sockets on each side, along with the lighting controls. Not much to say about the live TV (mostly dubbed into German) and there was no movie channel, but you could watch Youtube, Sky News and we plugged in a USB dongle into the back to watch our own movies. TV has both USB and HDMI inputs, so your Roku (etc.) will work. The audio for the TV in the bedroom could be sent through to the speakers in the bathroom (where there was a large bath and a fabulous shower). The spa is superb - we had a full body massage, and a Hungary Holistic treatment involving being brushed and then covered in mud. First time for us, and we enjoyed it far more than we expected! The masseur apologised for having to wake me up on a number of occasions. The barstaff were friendly and knowledgable.

The wine and Champagne selection wasn't as varied as we were used to. Finding a French or Spanish wine was something of a struggle. Upon arrival, we detected an element of up-selling (something we've been caught by before, so this unnerved us somewhat). We were offered an upgrade to our suite for an additional €240 per night, which we turned down. No additional pressure, and prices throughout the hotel were reasonable. We're fussy about our hot chocolate. While tasty, it was not impressive - we rather have the melted chocolate, and choose how much milk and cream to add ourselves.

Food and drinks at bar took nearly 20 min to make this is unacceptable ! Just a suggestion for the spa : after a sauna it’s a good practice to drink sufficient water to prevent dehydration ! So normally 5 star hotels in New York, London , Zurich etccc place a spa bar or a minibar with plain water bottles or with added cucumber !
