This hotel has the feel of an old Bavarian hotel with wood panelling and hunting trophies on the wall and is at the end of the main streetof Berchesgaden The breakfast is very good and plentiful. Our room was big and comfortable with a balcony with views over the mountains and town. We used the indoor swimming pool but not the sauna. There is a bar which is open at night. The hotel offers guests a free bus pass which is very worthwhile and it is in easy bus travel of the major tourist spots. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Too many steps so this is not suitable for anyone with a disability.

Hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. Location is excellent. The view from the breakfast room is spectacular. Also, there's a room on the first floor where you can relax which has the same amazing view as the breakfast room. Breakfast was decent. Bed was fairly comfortable. The hotel has lots of character. I've stayed here in the past and liked it enough to return. I find it relaxing. Didn't have time to use the indoor swimming pool this time, but enjoyed it last time. We liked that there was a wash salon right next door so we could do our laundry and there are lots of good restaurants close by.

The breakfast room had no margarine so I had to request it each day due to milk allergy. Would be nice if they had some in the breakfast room. Shower drained a bit slowly. Could use a few more parking spaces. Everything else was great.

Amazing location in central Berchtesgaden.

This property is ranked lower than others because the bathrooms are outdated. The hotel is one of the oldest in the city and the location is perfect! Super clean as well.

The view from the breakfast area is amazing. The hotel is old and a bit quirky, which I liked. My room balcony was also great and you can't fault the place for cleanliness. The hotel reception staff went beyond their duty in terms of friendliness and giving me some advice for visiting local tourist attractions. The location is excellent, as the old town is within walking distance, as is the train station and adjacent bus station. The nearby museum is also great. I'd stay again for sure. I strongly recommend that you give yourself plenty of time in Berchtesgaden, as the weather will not always be good and attractions can close early. Overall it is an amazing place. Absolutely beautiful.

I didn't like how the hotel charged me a city tax upon check-in. They should include that in the hotel bill, as they requested that I pay with cash. I had happened to have cash on me, but many tourists will not. I liked everything else about this hotel, but if you are expecting a modern hotel then you could find things to moan about. The hotel is near 200 years old. If you struggle with stairs, then you will not like this place, as it is too old of a hotel to have elevators everywhere.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. They owned the laundry facilities next door which was very convenient. The hotel gives change and sells detergent, and there is good wifi in the laundry place! Buffet breakfast delicious. We got a cute room with balcony and nice view. Building older but very clean. There is a bus stop across the street to take to the train station to transfer to other busses to see the sights - if you don’t want to walk down the hill to the train station.

There was no restaurant in hotel, however there are some down the road. Walking to the hotel is all uphill! The shortest way to get there from the train station is to go out the back. Go across the tracks and follow the well worn gravel path up. When you get to the top, the hotel is on the right. This is the best and fastest way to go.

The breakfast was great and the views are stunning looking out of the breakfast area. The rooms had mountain views and it was nice to sit on the balcony and soak up the mountain air. The location is good, only a short walk to the centre of town. We enjoyed the small swimming pool as well, but did not try the sauna.

The hotel parking is limited and cannot be reserved but there is a public car park opposite the hotel. You have to take your luggage up at least one floor to get to the other parts of the hotel where there is a lift.

The view from my balcony was exceptional, I was overlooking the Alps. The room itself was really nice, clean spacious and all of the furniture was beautiful solid wood. The hotel is within walking distance of the central town with lots of restuarants.

The stairs are numerous and I had two bags, I had to ask for help! Aslo there is a free gas card for transportation all over the area on local busses I was not offered this and paid for busses on my first day, the bus driver was the person that made me aware of it.

Traditional Bavarian style in a great location.They were not too busy, so they upgraded (at no extra charge) to a room with a nice balcony and a perfect view of the valley and the snow covered mountains. There are a few restaurants nearby (don't go to the Greek restaurant across the street from the hotel. It is horrible). Hotel breakfast was formidable with a host who showed passion and pride in what he was doing. A great place to stay, and a great place to start a new day on our journey across the Alps.

I liked everything. İt was clean. The location is perfect. Staff is friendly and helpful. Some guests wrote that the hotel was too old for the price. In my opinion, it is not old, but can be described as a traditional Bavarian family hotel. İt is well renovated and is in a very good condition. I can definitely recommend it. The breakfast was good, but there is no dinner and supper. However, there are a lot of restaurants in the vicinity.

Lovely mountain setting. Spectacular view, both day and night.Very large rooms. Heated bathroom floor, large tub and sinks. Lovely adjoining balconies. Breakfast was superb! Close to other excellent restaurants. Easy drive to the Eagle's Nest.

Quite humid with no AC. Parking was challenging, and quite a distance off-site in a tiny garage, and offered limited security. No elevator, which may be an issue for some, especially if on the top floor.
