Tremendous view from our balcony. Large room with couch and desk made our 9 day stay very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent for dinner. They had specials every night and really tried to keep things interesting. Great/varied standard menu as well. The wait staff was very kind and friendly. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Pool and sauna area were also very nice and well maintained.

The only knock I have on this place is the lack of proper weights or a machine in their fitness room. Getting a good workout is very important to me, so for those who don't work out with weights, no big deal. Otherwise, I used the pool quite a bit instead and loved it.

Location lovely. Fab view. Breakfast was ok, probably up to local standards which are average. Coffees from the machine were adequate but the prepared flasks were not. Quite crowded at peak breakfast time. Evening meals were good. It’s worth knowing this is very much a family hotel. Lots of small children. They were largely very well behaved. But not really a couples place.

It was hot. No AC. We had balcony door open at night. Our neighbour woke at 6am both days we were there to smoke on his balcony. The smell woke us each time and filled our room. Horrible. They need to ban smoking on the balconies. It is more than distasteful it is a health hazard.

Everything. I loved outdoor pool, sauna, breakfast , room , beds, staff. If I will visit this place one more time, I will come again to this hotel and recomend to all. My dog was happy too. Staff was very nice and friendly, I never experienced such warm attitude toward dogs in hotel. It was hard to leave. The most beautiful thing was the garden with big trees surrounded by mountains. It was gorgeous with sun as well as rain and storm. We extend our trip just because we loved the hotel and garden.

Enjoy a five-star hotel experience at a three-star price. The friendly front desk, restaurant staff, and housekeeping make you feel right at home. And the best part? There’s an outdoor pool, and some rooms even have bathtubs! Although it’s a bit far from the lake area, you can reach it within 30 minutes by taking a 5-minute walk to the bus stop. With the hotel’s free parking policy and the local tourist guest card (which provides free public transportation), you’ll save the €3 hourly parking fee. Just remember that a full day is needed if you plan to visit the lake area and the milk cottage. Breakfast is served in a traditional-style restaurant, ensuring you’re well-fed before embarking on your explorations.

I can't recommend Stoll's Hotel Alpina highly enough. After initially booking for 3 nights we ended up staying for 11 nights. The hotel is well situated a couple of miles outside Berchtesgaden town, convenient to pick up a bit of shopping but far enough out to be away from the bustle. All of the sights of the area are within a short drive and it's easy to get slightly further afield to Salzburg and onwards. It's a very dog friendly hotel. Dogs are welcome just about everywhere in the hotel and the staff were particularly welcoming to our dog, providing a bowl, blanket and treats for him to enjoy. There are lots of nice shady areas to lie in and there are walks directly from the hotel that lead into woodland and along the river. It's great for children as well - our children enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools, soft play area and outdoor play area. There are a range of board games available and outdoor play equipment e.g. rackets and balls, and a sandpit with lots of beach toys. They were particularly pleased with the free ice creams which were handed out every afternoon 🙂 The breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied and it was nice to sit out on the outdoor terrace to enjoy it. It was also possible to buy bar snacks and drinks from afternoon onwards, as well as the restaurant for evening meals. The grounds are beautiful and tranquil, all of the facilities were clean and well tended and despite the hotel being full, the facilities never seemed overly busy and it was easy to get a sun lounger or table at the bar. The hotel has amazing views over the mountains. The hotel has a cool mid-century vibe while also retaining its distinctive Bavarian character. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful and really made us feel welcome. The service approach is very customer centric and personal. During our stay, we had some fairly urgent unexpected circumstances that needed immediate attention.

Everything was great

Everything was well cared for. The gardens, the rooms, the fantastic breakfast room; they all showed care and devotion. The balcony, though small, was a nice extension to the room and with both doors open allowed a nice view of the Mountains. The staff was so helpful and made us aware of all the amenities and important features that would make our stay nice.

I can’t say any negatives.

We loved the whole area and large hotel's garden with a very nice outdoor swimming pool. Breakfast was also great and all the employees were extremely nice and helpful. We definitely want to come back.

Our room was above the main entrance and it could get pretty loud during nights and early mornings.

Welcome Reception Drinks 🍺 Breakfast and restaurant food was great and offered good variety and quality food. Pool indoor and sauna onsite ! Hiking right out the door.

No elevator, stairs are steep so if you can’t navigate that with your luggage/physical health look elsewhere or book a bottom room. Receptionist wasn’t very welcoming but we got over it.

Grounds are palatial in a setting like none other, with spectacular views and landscapes surrounding the property. The meals were definitely enjoyable and lovingly prepared enjoyed in an atmosphere of beauty and traditional live music.

Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were comfortable. Some rooms are basic with little decoration, while others are nicely appointed. Great facility with a lot of areas to sit and enjoy drinks or relax. Staff is really friendly.

The music in the restaurant at dinner needs to be changed. Today's pop music was playing, but something more traditional and fitting for the atmosphere would have been better; tirolean music would have enhanced dinner in the restaurant, not today's pop music.
