Everything was good about the property.

This boutique hotel was perfect. I was so impressed with the detail of the interior design. The hotel is small as are the rooms, but the level of comfort and atmosphere could compete with larger hotels. The rooms were stylish and very comfortable. The shower was high end. The staff really cared as was evidenced by the level of service we received. My expectations for breakfast were a bit low given the size of the hotel and am happy to say I was SO very wrong. The breakfast was amazing - the detail again was surprising n a great way.

It would have been nice to have a view from our room, but honestly this is me stretching to fill in this box.

Breakfast was amazing, I regret I didn't have it each morning and just paid the extra. The hotel is so beautifully designed and really a pleasure to stay there. I like to walk and everything I wanted to see - the museums, including the Guggenheim, were in walking distance - and La Ribera is just across the road. The Old Town is so charming and everyone so friendly, I just loved Bilbao (it was my first visit) and my hotel definitely contributed to that feeling and positive experience. All the staff I encountered were lovely.

It is useful to know that the rooms are definitely 'boutique' - and quite small, mine had no cupboard space. I was surprised to have a single bed, but I got used to it quickly. It isn't really a negative, more an observation.

The staff were very welcoming, pleasant and helpful and the room was clean and modern. The pillows were really comfy. They do a great breakfast if you decide to have breakfast there. The hotel is located near the river in the old town, an excellent location. It's also close to the tram, bars for breakfast and tapas and an indoor market (but beware, there are numerous butcher counters).

Not a big deal but the room can get noisy, as there are bars nearby and then cleaning trucks or collections and deliveries in the mornings. In fairness we had our balcony door ajar (rather than use air conditioning). We decided to embrace the sounds of the city I suppose, and make it part of the experience. Some might find the rooms a bit small.

Goien is a beautiful little boutique hotel perfectly placed in the old town of Bilbao. It's tastefully decorated, immaculatly clean, well thought out, and incredibly comfortable! The staff are a delight, nothing is too much trouble! Definitely have the breakfast, I had a divine eggs benedic one morning and a divine smoked salmon dish the next - both brilliant.

There were no complaints from me or my partner. We loved our stay and will be returning!

Loved the hotel - staff were the nicest, and room and bathroom were lovely. Room v quiet even with balcony door open. Great breakfast. Very close to all Old Town facilities especially Ribera market and tram for Guggenheim.

Just a niggle. The balcony faces on to an alleyway so next building is very close. A screen prevents the opposite window seeing in to your room but makes the room v dark. Suited my husband (the bat) but not me. Air conditioning a bit complicated - could do with instructions for operation.

The location was brilliant for visiting the old part of Bilbao, the staff were really helpful and welcoming, the breakfasts fantastic to set you up for the day. This hotel has obviously been equipped with every top quality material with little expense spared.

The only small quibbles would be a lack of a wider selection of tea & coffee facilities in the room, the inability to change the language on the TV and the design of the soap dispensers for the shower

Everything is brand new; I asked and they have just opened a month ago. The location is perfect to explore the old town and is surrounded by tabernas and good restaurants to eat. The room and amenities were super nice.

I came by car so the slight disadvantage is that it doesn’t have parking and you need to park a bit far (12mim walking). Perhaps it is the atmosphere they want to create, but some more vivid lightning in the lobby and halls would be great to avoid gothic and dark sensation.

Beautiful room , linens, toiletries and fabulous shower. Nice breakfast too and very obliging staff. Handy for a lot of things to do like the hop on hop off bus and coffee and cake shops, not to mention all the little bars too.

Not a deal breaker, but the odd flooring in the lift we thought was a hard-wearing alternative to tiles extended to the bedroom floor as well. It was definitely a quirky feature but strange to walk on in shoes or bare feet!

The best hotel we've stayed at in Spain! Where do I even begin - the convenient location, the high end decorations, the comfy bed, the warmest staff, and the delicious and generous breakfast. Both my husband and I don't understand how it is a 2-star hotel. It's better than the 4-star one we stayed in Madrid. Would definitely return if we're in Bilbao again.
