Restaurant / pub was great, rooms were clean and comfortable. Location - quiet neighbourhood but close enough to everything.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Only suggestion we have is maybe advise people upon booking that reservations may be required if planning to eat there. After flying from Canada and arriving at the hotel, we just wanted to eat, have a drink, and get some sleep. Restaurant / pub was full and advised reservations were a good plan. Luckily we’re able to sit outside (a little chilly but we didn’t care). Not a big deal but just an idea to let people know. We did reserve for the next night and had a nice dinner inside.

Fourth time I've stayed here in the past year, in fact now if I need to be in Eastbourne I will not stay anywhere other than here: since my first visit in July 2023, I've planned all my subsequent trips around when the Pilot Inn had accommodation available. Location is brilliant, food is great, staff are polite, rooms are nice.

It's really hard to put anything in this "What didn't you like?" box when there was basically nothing I disliked. Oh, must admit I've got in the habit of bringing my own loo roll, because what's provided is like sandpaper: this would literally be my only complaint, and I've had the same issue elsewhere, so maybe it's just me? My companion last year didn't have a problem, and she is really fussy!

I cannot recommend The Pilot Inn enough, I traveled solo with my 5 year old daughter so was nervous at the thought of staying above the pub, the wonderful staff squashed those worries straight away. They went above and beyond for my daughter, even went out and bought her cereal for the morning! Felt very safe, no noise at all during the night, dinner was perfect… there was even oat milk in the room which I’ve never seen before. 100% would recommend, the restaurant had so much character, we had a great game of eye spy in there with all of the ornaments!

Our room was excellent and spotlessly clean. We loved the bathroom and in particular, the walk-in shower. The bed was large and really comfy and the room really quiet, so we had a good night's sleep. The food at lunchtime and at our evening meal was superb.

The breakfast was based on a tick-box that is handed in the day before. Although I enjoyed my full English breakfast, I would have liked a little more choice. ie a choice of fruit juices (not just orange). Also, cereals could be on offer along with fresh fruit and croissants?

Loved the location so close to the seafront. Free parking excellent. Staff friendly and helpful - better than any other hotel I’ve stayed in. Bedroom large and modern.Bathroom clean and modern. Breakfast wonderful, outside space great if good weather.

Would prefer a proper door on the bathroom rather than a shower door with gaps beneath. Would have liked a full length mirror and a magnifying mirror if being really fussy. Carpet needed a clean and a couple of bits needed fixing in the room. Prefer a larger bed. Local art on the walls rather than Paris would have been preferable.

A beautiful cosy pub with friendly staff. The owner was so welcoming when we arrived. She showed us our accommodation which was amazing. It had everything we needed for our stay. We had our meals there which were delicious and well presented, the breakfast set us up well for the day and again was very tasty. Nothing was to much trouble for the owner, the decor of the pub was very tastefully done. I would highly recommend this property, it was in a lovely location. Parking was a bonus Will definitely be back.

There was nothing to dislike.

Excellent breakfast of avocado on toast with halloumi. Lovely fresh tea. Ate in the restaurant in the evening and had a very good meal. The bass was beautifully cooked. There was a problem with the booking.com payment but the staff were amazingly helpful and it was all sorted. We were going to a funeral and we asked to leave our car for a little longer and we were offered our room as well to get changed in even though we had checked out. Thank you Amber

Nothing really. Could have done with water glasses in the room but we were given some in the restaurant so not really a problem

The room was amazing and fully equipped with an iron and hairdryer. There was also a mini fridge with water which was a lovely touch. We had a beautiful walk-in shower and a roll top bath. Every detail was covered. It was quiet and no noise from the bar downstairs. The food was amazing and the staff can’t help you enough, a very happy and hard working team. The location is perfect, near the beach and the start of the walk up to Beachy Head and also walking distance to Meads village and the town centre. Would definitely return and tell all my friends!

Absolutely everything was awesome. I couldn't fault the place at all. The staff were amazing, they were kind and super friendly. The food was perfect and I don't think there was anything they could have done better... The room was stunning and well thought out. The copper claw foot double bath tub in the bedroom was great! The only thing that let me down was leaving.

Been there 3/4 times now and like it a lot. Staff good, food good. It’s a very popular pub and can get very busy. Have stayed in Room 3 in past but this time had Room 1. It’s ok but not as good, and no wardrobe space so our clothes stayed in our bags which wasn’t a major issue. The bed was nice but the bedding seemed too small like a super king bed with king size sheets, again not really an issue for us but it may be for someone else. I can’t fault the place though really and it’s in a good position for the town and beachy head with a nice walk along the front to get to either. Good stuff.
