The cost was low for the area and had en-suite facilities. The location was perfect within an easy walk of all tourist attractions and the harbour for boat trips. There was heating in the room whenever we needed it. This is not always the case as heating can either be on a timer or non-existent at many places. The bar downstairs was a bonus. The bed was really comfortable. We had a late evening flight, there was no rush whatsoever to have us leave the property at the pre-designated time.

There was never anybody around to refer things to when we had issues and queries.

Some things that come to mind: I keep forgetting there's breakfast there. The location is excellent. The staff are genuinely really cool and considerate. It's my second time there and the next time that I'm back there performing my shows/seeing friends I will return. To say I feel welcome and at home in Skansen Hotel/Hostel would be an understatement. I have to shout out Eirik who works there. He's an absolutely amazing person to be around and helps add a significant warmth to the hotels vibe and atmosphere. I'd happily become a promo face for this fantastisk place.

It wouldn't be a believable review if I wasn't balanced. I could have done with a slightly longer room, I looked funny whilst attempting to do yoga. The room itself was a decent size, just a bit more difficult when laying down on the floor when you're a big man (in admittedly great shape). I rushed the booking so maybe the size is on me -plus, I'm a comedian so it helps with slapstick material! The windows suffered some warping from the cold. But that's what wood does in nature.

excellent location right on the embankment, all interesting locations within walking distance. the room is clean, the beds are comfortable, in the photo it seems worse, but in fact it is quite cozy. convenient check-in and check-out.

there were no hygiene items, for this price of the room you can provide one-time shampoo and shower gel, or at least soap

Cute bar area / lounge, clean room and no loud neighbors. Perfect for solo travelers, Safe area and close to lots of shops and restaurants.

It was loud at night due to bars under the property and around it but i really didn’t mind, If you bring headphones or ear plugs it easily fixes that issue.

Great location, everything worked in my room, room 26; kettle, lights, heating, Wi-Fi. Most powerful shower I’ve had in Norway so far.

Entrance and stairs need some TLC and a good hoover. Really disappointing about no hair dryers in the property.

Great location in the heart of Stavanger and incredibly kind staff who helped me with my heavy luggage.

Check in is very late (5pm) and they don’t offer luggage storage before check in or after check out. The property needs some renovations, especially the carpets in the hallways which have seen some better days. However, I did notice signs about renovations being underway.

location is great. room is very clean. staff in the bar is nice and helpful. hotel management is responsive and helpful too when I have problem with my room though never present in the hotel.

It’s just old and need some work done and it’d be a really great place to stay but then I guess it won’t be at the same price. there’s some sewage smell in the room so wasn’t pleasant.

The hostel is i the very city center, on the 1st floor you'll find a great bar with tasty cocktails.

Super loud at night, if you stay over the weekend be ready not to sleep too much because the city apparently never sleeps.

It is located in the centrum, everything was very close. It is a hostel, so we paid for what we have expected. And fortunately, it was clean :) And I also liked the checkout method!

Only that the curtain was not wide enough to fully cover the window and in the summer it is hard to fall asleep when there is no total dark outside.

The location is perfect, everything is reacheble by foot. The staff is friendly, during the night in the bar there is a nice atmosphere. The room was perfect, small but cozy amd comfortable.

Wifi and there was no shower gel.
