Room: Beautiful, with huge windows and a nice view. The kitchen corner was equipped beyond my expectations! Plates, utensils, glasses, kitchen towels, even sponge and liquid for washing the dishes. The only thing missing was a kettle for tea, but you can repurpose the coffee maker. Very comfortable bed, big bathroom. They warned me at check-in that the cleaning will not be done every day, but it was sufficient for me. Location: Great, few min walk to the union square, close to some bus stops. Just avoid going to the direction of the problematic neighbourhood. The terrace lounge was very nice and cozy, possible to take tea, coffee or hot cocoa.

Friendly reception staff, spacious room with a lovely lounge on level 14 with complimentary tea/coffee. Close to Union Square, cable car, buses and trains. The most comfortable bed I slept in during my 6 week journey.

Unfortunately there was protesting on the street close by every day which disturbed our sleep early every morning. The constant banging on drums, chanting and yelling spoilt our stay. Not the hotels fault. The concierge contact when asking to store our luggage for the day was disappointing and we did not appreciate his abrupt, sarcastic attitude.

The rooms we booked were grades and in very good shape, the beds were perfect and bathroom and bedrooms were squeaky clean. KitchenAid was adequately equipped, just a few more teabags and a different selection would be great! The top floor including the spa and the gym or also pretty awesome. We did not book including breakfast, so I cannot comment on that.

There was a constant background sound from an air condition or some other machinery on the back of the building which probably the hotel cannot influence, but it was still pretty loud. Other than that it was really nice!

I love the fully equipped kitchenware that allowed us to dine in and enjoyed the wine we bought at the Napa Valley. I am absolutely delighted with the filtered water and ice that we could retrieve from Level 7. We could fill up our bottles as we were walking a lot and needed to drink loads of water. Thank you for the space in the hotel room. Most hotel rooms are small, leaving little room to walk once you lay your luggage on the floor. Finally, the staff at the lobby were friendly and helpful. Thank you for making us fill welcomed.

The housekeeping wasn't done on a daily basis. We didn't feel welcome into a clean room when we returned after a long day of walking. The basic amenities that one needs in the bathroom weren't available, like the hotels in Asia. We had to buy at the convenient store.

The location is best. Powell St. is a block away. The room is spacious, much more so than in most hotels in downtown. Housekeeping is only once in a six-day stay, and each extra housekeeping service costs $50 or so. But you can ask them to change towels and empty trash cans for free. The latter service is as good as (to me even better than) the full housekeeping. There is a refrigerator, a big microwave, a coffee maker, and kitchen utensils. Although there is no electric kettle, you can use the microwave. There is a large working desk, which is good for business travelers.

Note that while the address is Post St., but the entrance is in Mason St. The airport pick up driver did not know it and wandered around the district. There is no central control switch for the lightings in the room. When you go to bed, you have to walk around the room to turn off every switch in the room. However, this was not a big deal.

We checked into The Donatello for a little staycation. You cannot beat the price for location, comfort, and quality. Located one block away from downtown's Theater Row and Union Square, there are unlimited choices of restaurants, markets, shopping, and entertainment. The hotel offers a lovely lounge with coffee, hot chocolate, and tea, comfortable seating and amazing views of the city. The rooms are large, well-appointed, and very comfortable. Our room had a lovely patio. The staff was polite and accommodating. There is a restaurant with live music on the weekends. We got much more for our money than we were expecting. A very peasant surprise!!!

The fact that we couldn't stay longer.

Spacious rooms with kitchenettes, very comfortable bed, room had dishes and everything we needed including a water pitcher in the fridge to go get complimentary filtered water with. In walking distance to a lot of things. Very nice staff.

Hot tub was nice but a little too much chlorine Sauna was super nice but you have to have the staff turn it on for you, takes about 15 minutes to get up. Bathrooms have no fan

Great location, close to Union Square and spacious rooms. Good value for money.

Room housekeeping service is free of charge only once every 3 nights (or 4 days). Otherwise, you must pay a $135 charge on top. This is not really crystal clear when booking. The in-house restaurant “Zingari” is overhyped and overpriced. Could easily eat better Italian cuisine at cheaper prices nearby.

The hotel was in a perfect location and the rooms are completed to a very high standard. Zenaida on the top floor is a huge asset to your hotel, she provided us with amazing knowledge of the San Francisco and helped us with our daily tours, but not only that but her personality and kindness is something we won’t forget for the duration of our stay. Herself and Jimmy are simply incredible!! Everything about this hotel is amazing!

Great location, staff were efficient and happy to help, the room was very clean, a good size with a large comfortable bed. It had a little kitchen area, nice bathroom and a good view of the city.

Nothing to do with the hotel but we were woken at 6am every morning by strikers protesting outside other nearby hotels. SFC has gone downhill a bit, it's like the walking dead, shame. The Donatello however exceeded our expectations and was great.
