For the budget cost, Kiskenda Cottage far exceeded expectations. The grounds are a beautiful little oasis and the room was extremely adequate as a homebase to explore Ubud and the area. Monkey gardens were a convenient short walk, as was one of the main streets with a convenience store and restaurants just down the road. Breakfast too was generously adequate given the cheap cost of the motel.

The handmade doors and windows didn't seal well which meant mosquitoes found their way in and bug spray was a necessity. Easily overcome!

Great central location, very close to various bars and restaurants. Campuhan Ridge Walk and the Monkey Forest were in walking distance. The property itself is very pretty with a nice, well-cared-for garden and pool. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed.

We stayed in a nice room on the ground floor but there were no sheer curtains. The staff that would walk past would always peek into our room, making us feel observed. The option of sheer curtains to use during the day would improve privacy a lot. We also did not appreciate the staff waking us up in the morning by knocking on our door repeatedly to ask if we needed our room cleaned.

I stayed at the top floor and the room was very spacious with a large varanda. The varanda isn't totally enclosed and there is a small access and view to the other varandas. The pool was nice but right in the circulation and not so private and spacious. I didn't have breakfast in the hotel as I like to have great healthy breakfasts in the nice restaurants, the cafe area is nice though.

One of the staff said that the Gojek doesn't operate in the area, which wasn't true so I didn't like it.

I was travelling with my parents and Kiskenda was in an ideal location, the street was quiet filled with bars, restaurants and coffee shops. It was only a 15 minute walk to the monkey forest and where there’s other restaurants. The restaurant at the property was also great, with lots of choices! Loved that breakfast was included. You got a good spot for the sun at the pool as well if you were looking for a chill day. The staff were wonderful! They were always so helpful, especially when my dad required a doctors visit. The reception staff helped liaise initially with the doctor. It was such a great experience staying at Kiskenda cottages and I would definitely stay again.

There wasn’t anything to dislike

I loved everything about this place! Extended my stay by 3 nights because it was so nice. Female solo traveller and I felt so safe here! It would also be ideal for couples/families. great location, lovely restaurants near by but just down a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of busy Ubud. Great shower. Great A/C. Rooms were cleaned everyday - place was spotless. Wifi worked great for me. Lovely breakfast. Lovely staff. cannot recommend enough!

I loved everything!

It is about a Km away from the centre of Ubud. Lots of eateries along the way to the center. Ubud center is the main shopping place and is a 15 min walk from the hotel. Monkey forest is just 5 min walk from the hotel. So the hotel is in a quiet and peaceful place with no noise disturbances The hotel itself is a boutique property overlooking a rice terrace. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. There is a TV and mini refrigerator. Hot water works all the time. The breakfast provided is basic. The staff is courteous and helpful Overall an absolute value for money

The room was nice with nice garden view. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was okay.

The street was very busy with motorbikers and cars, so walking on the street was a little stressful. 🙂

My second time staying at Kiskenda. They did not disappoint. Rooms are clean and spacious. I stayed in room 1, which is at the end of the property and provides a view of the rice fields. The bathroom had a bad smell on the first day but fortunately it quickly disappeared. There is a fridge and kettle provided; which is handy. The internet was iffy. The pool is lovely, and I always managed to get a lounger. The onsite restaurant is very good. The main plus point for this hotel is the staff though. Always smiling, always available - they really do make the experience of staying even better.

The internet was intermittent

We all had rooms on the second floor overlooking the pool and a rice padi beyond. Great view and we really enjoyed the balcony. Rooms were nice and big. Staff were all super friendly. Hot water showers. Nice pool for swimming. Great restaurant on site and lots of others close by. Wonderful breakfast. Convenience stores close by. Close to the Monkey forest.

Location was a little far from Ubud Main Street, but we enjoyed walking and could have easily gotten a taxi or gojek.

Central location, good pool in mature garden overlooking small rice field. Good size room on second floor with balcony ,plenty of storage space, large shower area with good supply of hot water. Clean room , A/C works well . Staff very pleasant always helpful, even provided a separate safe as room did not have one. Great value if booked in advance Breakfast adequate but repetitive

Beds slightly too hard, plug to sink did not work, pool could do with a clean ,base of it dirty. Greater menu choice other than eggs/ rice for breakfast.
