Well, everything! First, i found Theodora at the reception desk and she is a treasure! Incredibly friendly always willing to help and provide us with info for the city. Places to eat etc. The room was super spacious, the bed big and comfy. Breakfast was very nice AND included in the final price. There is a whole shopping center when you exit the hotel and this is super convenient!

Gorgeous hotel, situated next to a shopping centre with a great supermarket. Spotlessly clean.

Wish I had known sooner that you are a bus ride to one station and then a train ride to the centre of Amsterdam.. On Sundays the buses don't run until 8am so had to get a taxi to the train station (5 mins in the car €20) Frequent trains to the center. Also would have liked to have known that the 24/48/72 hour tickets cover bus/metro and tram.. a simple message on the hotel website would have been great as we spent a fortune on travel..

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location inside a shopping center was very convenient, with everything we needed close by. The apartment was exceptionally clean, and the reception staff was incredibly polite and helpful. A special thank you to Tatiana for her outstanding assistance and attention—she truly made our stay even more pleasant. The breakfast was great, with plenty of options for everyone. This is definitely one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in Amsterdam, located just 5–10 minutes from the trams and metro stations. Highly recommend!

Overall, we couldn’t find anything negative to say—everything exceeded our expectations!

I had requested for interconnecting rooms, with one queen and one with twin beds. The second room did not have twin beds, the General Manager and all front office staff were very accommodating and understanding and helpful, particularly Peter Paul, the manager who arranged immediately to accommodate us by giving us a complimentary room right next to our interconnecting rooms- truly went above and beyond, all with a smile and an attitude that was very supportive and helpful.

There wasn’t much to not like, the location is excellent - there are so many shops and supermarkets around- if there is one thing, it was simply an omission on one day that we were out the cleaners / housekeeping forgot to do our rooms- whilst we were out - however that was a small thing compared to everything else that this hotel offers and the beautiful staff , including Gaby, at breakfast . She was really lovely and helpful.

Nice room size, kitchenette was great with dishes and dishwasher. Bathroom shower was powerful. Breakfast had good variety and loved that I could get cappuccino in my breakfast. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The adjacent mall made it a lively location. Just a 10 min walk to the tram.

We stayed for 4 nights and had pretty much the same breakfast everyday. One day they had pancakes, but they were not good. I wish they had the same coffee machine in the corridor that they had in the breakfast area for coffee options.

Element is nestled in a modern shopping centre in the popular and safe suburb of Amsterdam South. The location is superb. Accommodation is easily connected to the city by Metro and bus within walking distance. In addition there is bike hire from the hotel of reasonable rates, ideal for going to the Bos , Amstel Park, and for riding to the city centre, touring experience is only ever complete in Amsterdam on a bike tour! Really happy about the room. The bed is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent.

Check in staff could be more flexible, it’s more individual traits and nothing to do with service desk, as other staff we have encountered at the desk are really nice.

Room had its own little kitchen. Also there many grocery stores nearby - thats very convenient. Metro is in walkable distance. There are absolutely gorgeous parks nearby. Perfect for dogs and very long walks.

Staff seems overwhelmed sometimes. Our Room was not cleaned for 2 days because they did not manage to have it done by 4pm when we returned. Restaurant/Rooftop bar is terrible and completely overpriced. Also breakfast is probably the worst I ever had in a hotel. No fresh fruits and lack of healthy options. Cereal bowls are the size of sauce bowls - which is ridiculous.

The hotel is situated in a quite zone - almost no traffic. The breakfast is very good, I am sorry I couldn't try the dinner, I always arrived very late in the evening, but I'm pretty much sure it's also good. You can drink the water from the tap, there's even a sign to encourage you to do it. The rooms are very spacious and clean, the same for the bathroom.

Beside the distance to the train or subway station (but I was aware of that from the beginning), I cannot find anything to complain. You can walk from Zuid, it takes no more than 15 minutes. Maybe it does not look very new, but definitely I cannot downgrade the hotel only for this.

November 2023

We stayed at Element for 9 days in November and we loved it. It was our home away from home. All the hotel interiors are inviting, with attention to details like lighting and comfort, which made them peaceful and productive to work in. Our room which included a kitchenette was large and comfortable, with excellent attention to lighting, working spaces and comfort. The breakfasts were great, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The location next to the wonderful Gelderblomplein shopping centre was also very convenient. The hotel also upgraded all the TVs while we were there.

It would be helpful to add some kind of guide to using the new TVs. We struggled to work it out. The hotel ordered us a taxi to the airport on our last day, and the driver drove extremely fast in the pouring rain and dark, while talking on his phone constantly. We found the Uber and Bolt drivers much better, perhaps because they get reviewed. The hotel is a short walk from the station and tram stops, but in the rain walking is not much fun, especially when the wind blows your umbrella out.
