Everything about our stay! Vickie was a very warm and welcoming host, always happy to have a chat and offer restaurant suggestions for the local area. Breakfast was made to order and very tasty, with continental breakfast options (eg yoghurt, cereal etc) also available. The room itself felt spacious, modern and tastefully / thoughtfully decorated. We would definitely consider staying at Abbey House again on our next trip to Penrith.

Nothing in particular, we really enjoyed our stay! One point to keep in mind with breakfast orders is that, given hot breakfasts are made to order, guests need to indicate the night beforehand the time they expect to arrive at breakfast. We didn't find this bothersome ourselves, though others might prefer more flexibility.

I was able to check in early, which was a great help. All the staff were very friendly. The WiFi worked well and I was able to get parked in the small car park to the rear of the property. Breakfast was excellent

No shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom, only hand soap. The place is on a busy main road with a lot of traffic noise. Unfortunately there was a group shouting in the street at 4am, nothing the hotel can do about that. Would suggest a rear facing room would alleviate these problems.

Fantastic B & B, such a warm welcome and lovely clean place. Craig even offered us his parking space for our larger car. The rooms are beautiful, lots of little extras, fresh scones, fresh water. Lots of Tea and coffee with milks, not just one of each like other places we have stayed. Breakfast was amazing and lots of choice again for food and Tea's and coffees. Vicky was so friendly it felt like staying with friends you had known for ages. Location superb just a short walk to the centre with bars and restaurants within 2-3 minutes walk. Will happily go back and stay again - thank you.

absolutely incredible place ro stay ...loved every minute of our time there ...our host Vickie was amazing and couldn't not do enough for us ...rooms were very comfortable...clean and decent size ..location was really good could walk to town centre and shops ...there was a nice outside area ti sit and enjoy food drink whatever ...breakfast was also very good ...thanks Vickie for a great stay

Very nice quiet room at the back of the house, away from the busy street the B&B is on. Good bed, good bathroom and very nice personal touches by the host, like bathrobes, flower decorations and fresh scones on arrival. Good breakfast in nice breakfast room. Great host. Near to the town centre.

The host does everything on her own and with everybody having breakfast at the same time, it took a bit longer in the morning before everybody had their breakfast. Never mind; we were still well on time for our coach.

People make places and Vickie is a wonderful host, Abbey House is very welcoming and the perfect place to stay. The breakfast was exceptional, location perfect, and the shower superb to wash away the aches and pains! The provision of satellite tv an added bonus.

Vickie was the perfect host, making us feel very welcome with a great sense of humour. Although the room (number 4) wasn't the largest we have stopped in, it was more than adequate and situated at the back of the house was very quiet. One of the most comfortable beds of our two week driving tour upto the Outer Hebrides ensured we had a good night's sleep followed by an excellent breakfast. Having had our fill of full English/Scottish breakfasts we both chose to just have the bacon and egg which was served piping hot encased in a big soft roll - delicious!! Lots of choice of cereals and fruit too plus tasty coffee.

Nothing major and to be fair to Vickie I forgot to mention that the bathroom extraction fan wasn't working, this does seem to be the case in many B&B's for some strange reason.

Abbey House is an outstanding place to stay. Vickie was so welcoming and had thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible even to having a chocolate and fluffy robes. It felt very luxurious. The room and bathroom was spacious with a huge comfy bed. The breakfast was delicious. I can't praise our stay enough.

situated right in the centre of Penrith the location was excellent after a long hard ride. Gary, our host even kept our tandem in his bedroom as he didn’t think it would fit in his bike sheds. Molly looked after us very well and we felt very comfortable.

From booking the room, every question was answered very quickly, fabulous price and location. I was made very welcome and felt at ease being a sole customer. Very comfortable room, TV, coffee/tea facilities, scone jam and butter, beautiful warm gown and all size towels in the bathroom with hand soap and shower soap. Even leaving before breakfast wasn’t a problem, I was provided with an excellent continental breakfast which had everything in it ❤️
