Yannis is more than a host as Afroditi is more than a hotel. All things taken into account and with respect to all constraints the place is flawless and it is run flawlessly by Yannis. He is a quite hardworking perfectionist when it comes to overall satisfaction of his guests and he delivers all, by himself. Frankly, I am yet to see someone who is so hands on for everything to be “done”. He is literally everywhere, and yet he is nowhere when it comes to privacy which is astonishing. Our experience can only be represented with a full score grade across all categories something I will be doing for the first and possibly the last time. Thank you Yannis, it truly was a privilege.

First of all, Yannis, a super host. He went beyond himself to make our stay comfortable. He organised a taxi for us from the AirPort and met us when we arrived fairly late, because the taxi were not allowed to drive all the way to the hotel. And when we, on leaving, insisted on walking to the bus station, he had us brought there in his own car. In the apartment we were met by wine and fruit and water and slippers. The apartment has everything you need, well equipped, with a washing/drying machine as an extra bonus. Cleaned every Day, but not to early (as we asked). We loved the position of the apartment, in front of a church and a small square. Rethymno is a really nice town. We hope to come back. To Yannis, you’re a pearl.

Nothing really. A fairly big veranda, with comfortable chairs. But we would have liked to have some kind of sun protection (parasol?). When we stayed there, it was really hot weather, and we couldn’t use the veranda during day time because of the sun.

The best thing about Afroditi is the host, Yannis. Previous reviews I had read said he was a great host and boy, is he ever! He's easy to communicate with, generous (we were welcomed with wine, fruit and water) and helpful with recommendations. He even walked us to our first restaurant and introduced us to the owner! Meanwhile, the room was nice and clean with everything we could need including a well-equipped kitchen and a balcony overlooking the street and with a view of the sea just two blocks away. The boutique hotel is conveniently located in the old town, so meals and shopping are just steps away. And there are swimming beaches within walking distance as well.

I have no complaints!

The location, as everyone states, is wonderful. The room has everything you need (and more…fresh fruit). The host (Yannis) was very helpful…even when I was grouchy from being overheated. One specific example, he walked us to “the famous” phyllo dough factory.

It was stated that there was no parking on site. We knew that going in. Being totally unfamiliar with this area, I did not realize how far parking was from the hotel. Yannis did everything he could to help, the walk to the hotel was not ideal (remember when I mentioned being grouchy because I was overheated….).

Yannis is an amazing host who welcomed us with a very generous fridge full of fruit and explained some of the history of Rethymno. We were even offered a bottle of champagne. We mentioned that we liked raki better and he cheerfully brought that instead. The building is just off one of the main streets so it's very quiet. The room was a very comfortable size and the bed and bedding were super comfortable. Afroditi will be my first choice if I ever visit again.

You cannot imagine how Great is this accommodation until you actually experience it. My appartment (balcony looking over the nice square & church) was super comfortable. A super comfy and large bed; nice size bathroom with a powerful shower; nice sofa & smart tv/internet for lazy evenings. Everything was really super clean and the location is unbeatable. Above all, the owner is a real gentleman and will welcome you as a friend. Plenty of smart attentions and gifts. If Afroditi is luckily available for your dates, book it !!! Look no further.

+ very friendly, helpful, lovely owner, easy communication + fantastic location, everything within walking distance, parking by the harbour included; balcony + church view + shower, washing machine (+dryer & rack), shower supplies and slippers + modern kitchen (recently renovated?) + cozy bedroom, warm blanket + strong and stable wifi + recommendations for excursions and authentic restaurants + welcome and parting gifts > Probably because we were some of the first guests of the season? Fruit, drinking water, wines, beer, olive oil, playing cards etc. We were truly overwhelmed by the generosity and hospitality of the locals! Thank you so much!

- The bathroom door handle was broken, but was fixed during our stay. - Sometimes the bathroom and the compartment under the sink smelled a bit funky, might just be after the winter break (?). - The sofa could be more comfortable.

Located In the middle of old town and has all the facilities one can think and unthink of. The owner Yiannis was an extremely warm host which many of the guests have also confirmed. Increadibly welcoming person, a true example of Creatian hospitality, friendliness and warmth. He welcomed us with a bottle of Champagne at our arrival.🍾☺️🌴 The apartment we rented was very cosy and had an elegancy of old architecture. We had a wonderful stay at Afroditi Hotel. It’s for sure to highly recommend it.

My son and I really enjoyed this place. We were greeted by Yannis and were able to check in earlier because the room was ready. Recommendations, with a map and with information about the sights, a bottle of homemade wine, fruits and water in the room. There was everything we needed, clean and comfortable. On the day of our departure, we were given souvenirs as a gift, and it was very nice. My son said he wants to stay in this apartment again. Thank you very much and I recommend it.

This is by far the best stay ever for us, we travelled with our 2 teenagers, and got full value on our holiday. The apartment location is perfect, just between shopping, restaurants and 600m to the beach, which is full of activities. The appartement is just above a church and a big square and there for an open view and very quiet in the night. Service was totally outstanding. The fridge was filled up with wine, beer, fruit, water, juice upon arrival and was re-filled during our stay. Jannis was the perfect host for a hotel, I wish I meet him everywhere I stayed.
