The location was perfect and the property was lovely. This is NOT a cookie cutter property! Lots of charming details, and very tranquil. The elevated continental breakfast included pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, and even hard boiled eggs. The koi pond and gazebo are so peaceful. Plus it’s great to be so close to downtown and the waterfront. Innkeeper Lee is very responsive, and has so much historical knowledge - it was a pleasure to talk with him.

Because it’s an older building, there is no ramp to get into the reception area (not that we saw), and the stairs are interesting but awkward. I was able to get in and out, though, because fortunately it’s only a few steps.

Beautiful inn, especially the outdoor space (garden and upstairs porch) in the middle of Manteo- which places you in the middle of the Outer Banks (in driving distance of both North and South ends). The owners and innkeepers are lovely and very helpful. My room was a great size with a comfortable bed, I faced the garden, which was lovely. Awesome surrounding neighborhood, right outside the inn is a dock which is a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset. Bikes are provided for guests to explore. Beverages (hot and cold) and snacks are accessible at all times from innkeeper's pantry. Well-stocked library and parlor to read- and socialize in. Great airconditioner in the rooms.

Rooms lack a few things I'd expect at the price: a robe, slippers and body lotion. There is no housekeeping during your stay. Breakfast is a little simpler than I had imagined (personal preference) and doesn't start until 7:30. Both shower and TV were a little difficult to understand/use.

Roanoke Island Inn is a quiet peaceful place with a wonderful staff located in the city of Manteo Roanoke island with fantastic views of the sound. The perfect launching spot to all areas of OBX. Easy walking distance to the quaint downtown area. The Inn has individual rooms, a bungalow and a house available on the property. This is a close to visiting Mayberry USA as you can get. (No Kidding). Highly Recommended

Make sure you keep the ice machine stocked.

Absolutely fantastic! We loved everything, but most of all the location, and the peacefulness of the surroundings. The property is lovely and very charming, and has all the comfort you need, and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. the complementary breakfast with bottomless coffee if a nice touch. Will definitely come back, may times.

The location was great for all area attractions. The property itself was well kept and clean. The attention to detail and customer needs was top of the line. Pet friendly is a plus. The highlight of our trip was meeting the innkeeper, Pam. From the moment we booked til the time we left, my wife and I knew we had made a friend. Pam knows the area and was extremely attentive. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking to explore the Outer Banks.

Loved everything

This Inn is absolutely wonderful! It is walking distance to downtown and has a beautiful view of the water. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the host (Pam) was very accommodating. Highly recommend!

Breakfast is great and Pam and Susan have the coffee ready at 5:00 a.m. As an early (very) riser I really appreciated this!! Kudos to both!!

What did I like: Everything. Courteous and wonderful Staff. Excellent location !. Excellent choice of items for breakfast, snacks. Beautiful setting. Clean. Excellent customer experience! Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

breakfast was sufficient and you could take as much as you liked and also come back later for more without paying anything

The bed was extremely high and difficult to get into since my wife and I are short. I figured out a way to get in more easily, but this did not work out for my wife.

It’s beautiful! We will be staying here again! Everything about it says relax this is your vacation!
