We attended a wedding at The Cedars . We arrived early , our superior room was ready . So could have checked in. However as we had our dog. With us we had to swap with my daughter who was arriving later.. The standard wasn't ready so as we had things to do we went off and returned later. When we returned I explained the situation to Lou and we checked in. All of tne reception staff were welcoming friendly. , and helpful and are a credit to Cedars. It makes a change from sullen ones we have encountered in other hotels.. All tne staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. Great dog friendly place.

The stairs up to the standard room. Fine for us but I feel this should be mentioned in the description. The other point to mention is just to clarify the eating areas dogs are allowed.

Firstly, the extensive well kept grounds and gardens in country surroundings.The friendly and attentive staff throughout the hotel were very helpful and always cheerful. The room (no: 7) was extremely spacious and comfortable in a separate attractive block and close to the car park. The large dining room was very pleasant, the food was wonderful, both breakfast and evening dinners were superb, we ate there all three nights of our stay. We could see why it is a lovely wedding venue.

Nothing popped up, we couldn’t find a fault at all, not that we went looking.

My sleep was disturbed 5 early mornings by someone above my room dragging heavy furniture around I did mention it and it stopped for a couple of days but then continued The last time was 3.15 am on the morning we were going home Don't stay in room 45 Apart from that it was an enjoyable stay

Location 10 minutes drive into the town centre. Plenty of free parking. Nice quiet rooms in a courtyard setting. If you have mobility difficulties please ask for a downstairs room with shower. I didn’t ask and first room allocated was up steep steps and had a bath. Receptionist quickly found me a more suitable room. Restaurant was in a lovely conservatory. Menu had a good selection with 20% off for residents. Everything we ate there was very good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

First room allocated looked rather tired and the steps up to the first floor were very steep.

The room was very nicely decorated with a view to the garden which made the mornings lovely with the sun peeking through the leaves. Can notice the bathroom was upgraded and the bed was very comfortable, pillows including. Despite hearing all the steps from room above (felt like a tap dancer at 6am), the place itself was quiet despite having a busy pub. Breakfast was decent and the pub has a nice interior. Plenty of car park spaces and location was perfect for what I needed.

I loved the lamp but when I had a look at it could see was hanging for dear life in one screw. Some TLC and will worth more pennies. A lot of pretty big potholes heading to car park that could be leveled up. I could see other people when in the shower and when noticed had same type of window I ended up having mine in the dark as bit uncomfortable with the idea, could do with some blinds if windows not allowed be changed.

We have stayed here and in the same room on numerous previous occasions over the years however the decor is starting to look tired. Also our breakfast experience was unfortunately disappointing - mouldy fruit in bowl which I removed and showed staff (the waiter apologised) and the traditional breakfast was average - poor quality ingredients, nothing special. I've mentioned on several previous reviews that a rubber bath mat is needed for use in the shower to reduce/eliminate the risk of slips. Prevention is better than cure !

Breakfast was exemplary as were the staff who served it. My room smelled badly but that is probably because it was a dog room. I have a special needs dog who thankfully does NOT have an odour at all and even she had difficulty finding a place that didn't wreak of other dogs to sit and indeed sleep so, i hobbled to my car and got her bed which is off the floor and she slept fine after that but it was difficult and i had all of the windows open fully to try and rid the smell but alas, no way it was shifting. I did not complain to cedars staff and they are NOT the cleaning team and also too many complaints and dogs will be barred from the hotel and that would be a shame. People with dogs should be told to bring an off the floor raised bed for their companion so as to NOT inconvenience other staying guests maybe!!?. Appart from that i have nothing but praise for the Cedars Inn hotel and staff.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Room was comfortable. Shower superb. Breakfast was good, they serve hot food cooked to order, buffet only for continental. Dinner menu had plenty of choice, not gourmet but big portions. The pie was amazing derserving of it's 'gold' award!

Minor detail - paid for an upgraded Superior room, but the coffee in the room was poor - at that prices would expect a Nespresso machine with pods. Pillows were too hard for my personal taste.

Conveniently located for what we wanted to do and see. Huge room with an equally huge bed that was very comfortable. Bar was pricey in our opinion but service was good. Restaurant- one superb meal, one that should have been sent back- it was so over microwaved it was burnt! Puddings were both divine!

Bathroom was cold- really cold- despite heated towel rail. Condensation after two of us showering was literally running down the walls and onto the floor. Soundproofing is not good- I didn’t need to hear the guest upstairs get up, go to the toilet and shower at 5.30-6am, but in fairness if they had an early start it wasn’t their fault… I really didn’t want or need to hear the housekeeper thumping up and down the stairs, crashing about above us and slamming doors early on a Sunday morning! Rooms are like two storey chalets- ask for an upstairs room if you can manage stairs!!

Vee the manager and her staff were very kind and helpful. I had checked in with a visual impairment to be closer to the hospital. Wonderful people and attentive when needed nothing being too much trouble. Knowledgeable for ideas of things to do around the area. Vee was compassionate enough, she changed my room to be closer to the facilities when she noticed my vision impairment without even me having to ask. How grateful I was. Rooms were spotlessly clean with everything I needed within. The bed was very comfy with crisp white linen. Breakfast was exceptional. Great wide choice for the price. Freshly prepared and cooked at the Inn. Dinner can be had at the Orangery surrounded by the mature gardens and big old trees. Lots Of Birds singing in the garden!

Not sure there's one thing. All my needs were met. Thank you Vee and all the staff at Cedars. ;-)xx
