Absolutely beautiful location with beautiful views. Staff were welcoming, friendly & attentive. The bar & restaurant areas were absolutely gorgeous with lots of character & the choice of drinks & food was fantastic especially with me being a pescatarian! Food was outstanding! Our suite was perfect - seating & kitchenette area (with a mini fridge) on one level with the bathroom & storage, with the bedroom above with a balcony to keep the area open and airy. An amusing duck theme in our room which we loved 😀 Breakfast was included & plenty of choice for non meat eaters, and set in a lovely bright but cosy & comfortable area. We absolutely loved it & would totally recommend it. It was also a perfect base for the big walk we'd planned for our trip.

I had a wonderful stay at this charming pub hotel. The large, spacious room was impressively clean, especially considering the age of the building, and the period-style décor was both tasteful and inviting. The bathroom was also beautifully maintained. The staff were lovely and provided impeccable service from arrival to checkout. Breakfast was a highlight, starting with hot coffee and fresh pastries, followed by a delicious full English. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a blend of comfort, character, and excellent hospitality.

It was a bit cold and no heat adjustments in the room.

We had Lyth Cottage which has excellent facilities and was very comfortable. The bed was comfortable and everything was spotless. Complimentary Tea, Coffee, Chocolate, water and biscuits on a daily basis was a jice touch. Breakfast choice was comprehensive and freshly cooked

We arrived late and struggled with the car parking as the pub was in full flow. In the end we had to leave the car on the road outside. You also need to remember to let the restaurant know whether you are eating in, in the evening, as places can be hard to secure at the last minute

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good location. Our dog was made welcome and was even given a dish of sausages for breakfast. I would definitely recommend a stay here. Another bonus was that you could walk from here without having to get into the car. If, like us, you aren't keen on the really busy areas of the Lakes this is a perfect place to stay.

The only fault was the broken chairs in the outside seating area. They were rotten and you could not sit on them. This didn't affect our stay as there were 2 other seats that were fine. Would be best to replace or just remove them.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere, warm welcome. Loved the feel of this place. Room was beautiful, great decor, stylish but traditional. Room was cosy and comfortable.

Breakfast is between 9-10 which for us was too late. We have a toddler so were up at 6am, it was a long morning!! Also it meant that on the morning of check out (we had a 5 hour journey so wanted to get out early) we missed the breakfast that was included and there was no option for an early breakfast or take away.

Absolutely Everything! This place is such a little gem and we will definitely be back to stay very soon. From arriving to leaving, you were treated so nicely and everything was catered for without hesitation. Such a carefree and relaxing atmosphere and hospitality. Our accommodation, drinks, food and staff were superb and nothing to fault atall. A definite must stay for all. Roaring open fire and comforting surroundings. Did not want to leave!

We left too early and needed longer. Definitely stay longer next time.

Excellent location, food excellent , staff excellent . Would recommend to stay here 👍

Heating on in suite, roasting through night early hrs couldn't turn valves off ,hot day aswell, manager was going to address it after leaving. Dog muck in the patio area which I cleaned up no problem though might be to other users. The suite needs a bit of a sprucing up.

We have been visiting the Masons Arms for many years and have always enjoyed it, so we chose it to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday. It is in a beautiful location and we always receive a warm welcome.

Only drawback for our family stay, there is not a twin bed option in the rooms, which meant our family consisting of teenage brothers and sisters had to sleep with a parent each as they weren’t happy to share a bed with their sibling of the opposite sex.

We stopped in the winster cottage, made use of the log fire and the kitchen facilities for our breakfast. Great value for money and the best place in the lakes I’ve stopped to date. The food in the pub next door was beautiful and they had a great selection of tasty local beers, I’ll definitely be back.

nothing, it had everything you needed.

Great food and choice of beers together with a long list of wines by the glass. We stayed for two nights having stayed there before. We like the fairly remoteness of the Masons arms

Whilst the pub is dog friendly and whilst we don’t have any objection we felt sometimes their were too many.
