The staff were very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Many of our excursions were based on their suggestions and were well worth doing. The location was quiet and cosy, perfect for a relaxing break. Set in the countryside away from the touristy area but within a 10-15min drive of Bowness and its amenities.

It would have improved our stay if the room had included a small fridge/cooler and a coffee machine rather than sachets. The water pressure and temperature sometimes dropped in the shower especially in the evening. Having a hybrid car, it would have been nice to have been able to charge our car overnight but there were no charging points available. There was no fresh fruit option for breakfast and porridge wasn't on the menu (although we didn't ask for it either).

The Inn is in beautiful Bowland Bridge in the Lake District. The building itself is fantastic, beams, slate floors etc. the food is fantastic and the room was amazingly spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Small things that can be easily corrected. There was only one towel and no shampoo in the room which was corrected when pointed out. Also, I know from talking from the bar staff that it’s a brewery issue why there is no Local Lake District beer on tap in the bar. This needs fixing as a Lake District pub needs a local beer. Overall small things.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, even though I was a little grumpy after the journey from hell up from the South! They were also incredibly accomodating after an error from Booking.Com. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with tea and coffee for the early risers. We had the most delicious meal once we'd found our feet and the breakfast was fantastic the next morning with a generous veggie option. Thank you Dan and the rest of the team - we will be back for sure and highly recommend.

Our third stay at the H & H and as previously, it was superb. The accommodation was, and is brilliant. After long days out when the weather was not all that kind we looked forward to a drink in the bar followed by our evening meal in the restaurant. We could not ask for anything better. Our thanks to Andrew and his team for their kindness and attention to every detail. We know these are difficult times for the hotel industry but the Hare & Hounds Hotel and staff are outstanding. An absolute joy.

Absolutely nothing.

Breakfast was excellent. The location was exactly what we were looking for quiet and rural. Our room as excellent, quiet and comfortable. All the staff were friendly, approachable and helpful.

The following I discussed with the Operations Manager who said he would refer the points to the owners. It would be good addition to the room to have a a vanity mirror with lighting for doing make up. There was a dripping sound from the cupboard overnight. Consider moving the full length mirror to a more useful and better lit location.

A stunning pub in a picturesque location. The room was delightful and we had a good stay. The evening food was delicious.

A few niggles that just need ironing out. The breakfast could be improved. We preordered the items night before, but we were waiting for 30mins before being served, no butter or bowls on the table; and drinks took 15 mins to arrive. The breakfast were great ingredients just unfortunately were really over cooked. I had a similar experience on the second day, Which was a shame.

Our second visit this year and again a brilliant five days. Bed and bathroom facilities beautiful, really comfortable large bed and super bathroom and shower. Breakfasts, pre ordered, brilliant and set us up for the day. We ate in each night and were provided with a varied menu,( not your typical pub micro-waved food)top quality food which was impeccably presented and served by a really happy, pleasant and attentive staff. Fantastic! Andrew and his staff deserve their top accolade.

Our only comment, not a criticism, is that we would have liked twin beds which are not available. However the double beds, probably King Size more than compensate so there is no real problem.

From the moment we arrived, staff was attentive and welcoming. Felt like being part of a small family. Breakfasts were very hearty and excellent as well as the one dinner we had there. Location was scenic and idyllic. Would totally stay again. Rooms were comfy and the large bathtub was a bonus. Thank you so much.

Only thing i could think of was that the bar wasn't stocked as well as i would have liked.

Great friendly staff, excellent food with generous portions. Helen's homemade granola is a lovely addition at breakfast. Beautiful room and the was gorgeous! The views and surrounding countryside are breathtaking. Comfy pub and very dog friendly too! Definitely worth a visit!

Uncomfortable view into the bathroom when using the loo, you can clearly see people outside the pub and they can very clearly see you! Some sort of glass frosting would help and mean the blind didn't have to be permanently closed Mattress could do with a topper to make it a bit more comfortable. Member of staff (barman) walked into our bedroom without knocking while we were in bed, yes we should have locked the door but still odd as he'd served my husband a drink at the bar 10 mins before and put it on our room number. The staff were so lovely but not always attentive at mealtimes. It would help if they could quickly scan the tables as they passed to either clear things away or checked how long people had been waiting for food. We had nearly an hours wait after a mix-up for our starter.

Charming old Inn in the country. Very quite and welcoming staff always had a smile and polite too. Our room Tyan (2) overlooked the steps up to the garden and side table. Comfortably room with windows already opened for fresh Cumbrian air. Fresh milk was provided on request and in the later evening a small flask was left for your morning beverage. Large bathroom with window view across the roof to the scar. Had a roll top bath and walk in shower all good with plenty of room and hot water. Plenty of towels. Very comfortable bed. lots of wardrobe space and large storage drawers with tea and coffee making facilities. The freshly cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner had all been beautifully prepared and cooked and nicely presented. Nice choice of wines also. we only tried. Pinot Grigio and Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. All very enjoyable.

Perhaps could have a large TV as we struggled to read sometimes. Not really a problem but liked to watch the early morning news. perhaps it’s because we are both late 50’s/60 😃.
