I must say, this is by far the BEST hostel I stayed at during my 2024 visit to Japan. Not only is the price affordable, but the hostel truly feels like a home away from home. They thoughtfully prepare snacks, eggs, and even yogurt in the chiller for guests, along with ready hot water. They go the extra mile by providing heat pack and earplugs, as the walls are a bit thin and some outside noise may carry. However, for me, noise wasn’t an issue at all. The rooms & living room are beautifully decorated—so sweet and cozy. They allowed us to store our luggage in the living room after check-out, which was a huge help. When they noticed we were carrying a lot, they even gave us an extra bag ♥️♥️♥️♥️. Their kindness and attention to detail are remarkable. The hosts also provide maps and recommendations for nearby attractions, making it easy to plan your visit. They even surprised us with a thoughtful gesture, which I’ll keep as a secret for you to discover.🤭🤭 Their home is immaculately clean, and although the washroom is shared, the cleanliness made it a non-issue. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone planning to visit Fuji. It’s located less than a 3-minute walk from Fuji Station (both train and bus), making it extremely convenient and easy to find. This place is not just worth the money—it’s an experience of genuine warmth and hospitality that makes your stay truly unforgettable.

Hana san & Satoshi san are the most amazing hostel hosts! They are such kind people and truely look after you to make sure you feel at ease. We were given loads of snacks each day, and even a really thoughtful gift as we left. The hostel was really clean, there were two toilets and two showers so we never encountered any issue with having to wait to use either. Thank you so much ❤️

Our room had a slight damp smell, but I think this is difficult to solve when it’s cold. Overall it didn’t bother us too much :)

Potentially the best hostel we’ve ever visited. Great location by the train station. Comfortable rooms and good kitchen/living facilities. Best of all by far is the couple who run the hostel though. Couldn’t have been more helpful at recommending what to do during our stay in Fujiyoshida. Very friendly to chat to and are genuinely interested in what your plans are. They even gave us a little souvenir upon leaving to thank us for staying. We were also provided with free use of some bikes which were a great way to explore the town. For anyone who likes Studio Ghibli there’s also plenty of pictures and memorabilia to find around the hostel.

Everything was great, especially the staff. They were kind, welcoming, informative and helpful. If you are in town for Fuji, this is the best place to stay near Fuji Station. They gave us all the information we needed for Mt. Fuji. They were also kind enough to let us leave any extra items in a bag that we didn't need for our mt. fuji hike. We were able to come back 2 days later to pick it up and the owner offered us the shower room if we needed. To top it all off this place is not even a minute walk from Fuji station. The owners were so kind and helpful. This was by far my favorite place to stay while in Japan.

There was nothing I didn't like.

This hostel exceeded all my expectations. I was treated very kindly by the owner, he even gave us souvenirs, and he treats his guests with great kindness and attention. We didn't know there was breakfast, but they leave several things for you to eat and it's free, such as coffee, bread, eggs, milk and fruit. In terms of cleanliness, everything was very clean and organized. The blankets really helped to keep us warm in the cold. The location is great, it's very close to the station, and you can walk to other famous places, the location is very convenient. The atmosphere is cozy and I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a good place to stay!

I have nothing to complain about

Thank you again Hana-san and her family! The personnel is formidable, really welcoming and helpful! The rooms are clean and calm, and there is everything you need when travelling. It's near the train station and the city center, so you can easily access the facilities (Fuji-Q, Temples, Bus for Mt. Fuji, ...). There are snacks and breakfast, all the equipment you need. We had a wonderful experience. We really recommend this place.

What a great place. The location is great as it’s close to the station. The room was spacious and clean. The same goes for the bathroom, which was clean and the shower had great pressure , which was really nice. But most of all, the staff was the best. The owners of this cute little homestay go above and beyond to help you with all of your questions. They provide you with free snacks to take in the living room and even some goodies and souvenirs. The kindness of the owners, the spacious room, super comfy beds and clean bathrooms made this stay truly wonderful. I would highly recommend this stay and wish I could’ve stayed longer!

The location is great, just across the Fujisan Station. Thee give snacks for free! (bread, creakers, instan noodle, fruits, coffee tea etc) The room was clean and big enough for 2 person. Hana-san was helpful, friendly, and thoughtful. She give us recomendation where to go, and give us the map and direction. And she also give us some souvenir for keepsake. While waiting for my night bus, I can take my time at the hostel and getting ready. Overall it was a very pleasant stay during our trip in Fuji

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Hana Hostel. The Hostel is perfectly located next to the train station and with food options nearby (we recommend the cozy little cafe right across from the train station for a good cup of coffee). The facilities are modern and clean. The futon was by far the most comfortable sleep we had during our whole trip! But the best part was feeling truly at home and being treated like family. After check out my husband said these are the perfect people to run a hostel, and I couldn’t agree more. Both were warm hearted and caring people who made our stay wonderful. Our daughter loved being in their company and even asked to go back to play and have apple juice after we had left. Eleanor loves her little Fuji, and carries it with her everywhere. We can’t wait to return and see you both again. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality :)

Absolutely nothing.

Really lovely room in a fantastic location, but the thing that made it our favourite stay throughout all of our Japan trip was Hana and her husband. They were so helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They gave us lots of recommendations for the area and couldn’t do more to help us. I would recommend anyone to stay here and we wish we had stayed for longer! We will definitely be returning.
