Fantastic staff very professional and accommodating , the room was warm very clean , had a good nights sleep . The breakfast was outstanding and cooked to your liking .plenty of choice . The hotel was very clean and will be coming back to try the Indian restaurant.keep up your good work.

A great 2 night stay, room was spacious, spotlessly clean, well maintained and had everything we could of needed. Breakfast was cooked to order with high quality ingredients and also a buffet style breakfast which had everything you could of wanted. The onsite Indian restaurant was great extensive menu executed beautifully. Anna the manager went above and beyond to make our stay special and nothing was to much trouble the whole team provided great service. The hotel is a historical building and has great views, a short walk to Durham centre. Onsite carparking included in the rate is brilliant.

This guesthouse is fab. From walking in, I loved it. The decor is bright and fun and it was very welcoming. Our room was immaculately clean, bed so comfortable I could have stayed in it all day. Bathroom very clean and shower nice and hot. Breakfast was amazing with the staff being polite, friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to the centre of Durham, although is uphill back so if problems walking then the bus goes by or a taxi is cheap enough. Couldn’t ask for more really and all for a very reasonable price.

There isn’t anything to dislike.

The place was beautiful, the hotel manager at reception (Richard) could not do enough for us in fact he’s more than a manager he did everything even cooked breakfast which was outstanding. Also the Indian restaurant below which is owned by the same people is amazing and the manager Hussain can’t do enough for you so if anyone stays at this hotel I would without doubt tell you to visit this restaurant. Amazing experience will come again. And Durham itself is only a 10 minute walk away is fantastic lovely bars and restaurants.

The hotel is a short walk from the city and ideally located. It is decorated to a high standard with attention to the small details. We arrived quite early with the hope of dropping off our bags, but our room was ready and we were allowed to check in at no extra cost. Even better was the free parking and generous stock of coffee, tea and milk. The Indian restaurant attached to the hotel is well known by the locals for a reason. We dined there and had one of the nicest meals we have had in a very long time. It’s definitely well worth a visit.

A very warm welcome from Anna the Manager on arrival. We were upgraded to a very large and comfortable family room. Beds were soft but very comfy, bathroom large and clean. Kettle in room with plenty of tea & coffee sachets. The building itself is beautiful, on a lovely residential street and no more than 10 minutes walk to the city centre. Breakfast plenty of choice, great service and tasty food.

Location of the hotel was excellent, secluded but close enough that you can walk into town, Anna made us very welcome on arrival, she looked after us exceptionally well, in the morning the breakfast was superb, we had a great stay, only wish it had been longer, the bonus to staying here is that there is an Indian restaurant attached to the hotel which is absolutely stunning. we will definitely be back

Staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, a great view, large comfortable bed and really clean. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety in a lovely room. All in all a fantastic guest house in a great location, would thoroughly recommend.

Room was spacious with seating. Overall comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Location is great close to town by short 10 minute walk, steep walk coming back.

Common area was very warm, could turn down thermostat. We turned off the room radiator & open window so room was cool.

Farnley Tower is the best guesthouse I've stayed in. The guesthouse is clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished, and has some lovely architectural features. The double ensuite standard room I stayed in was spacious and attractively decorated and furnished, and the bathroom was a good size. Farnley Tower is situated in a residential area and I found it a quiet and relaxing location. Farnley Tower is conveniently situated for exploring the city centre and is also within a short walking distance of the rail station. There was an extensive range of breakfast items to choose from, and the cooked breakfasts were well cooked and nicely presented. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I had two evening meals at the Holi & Bang restaurant next door, and was very impressed with the food and the service. I really enjoyed my stay at Farnley Tower, and would definitely stay there again the next time I visit Durham.
