Beautiful calm boutique hotel set in tropical gardens, each room is an individual hut with a beautiful outdoor bathroom. The rooms surrounded a lovely pool, with plenty of space for relaxing. There was an outdoor gym, a small restaurant and a lovely tree house bar with great views. The owners and staff all went out of their way to make us feel at home. Thank you Sarah and Ty for a wonderful stay.

Slightly off the beaten track (10-15mins walk from the beach) but a small price to pay for tranquility. Minor issues with electricity which meant AC wasn't always working efficiently, but this is common on the island. Staff were very happy to provide extra fans to combat this.

I loved the vibe of the hotel, so peaceful and unique. The location is perfect away from the hustle and bustle but you don’t feel too far away when you want to get out. Zen Boutique is so calming all throughout the day and night with excellent views from all areas. I was there for a solo birthday trip and the staff were amazing and made my day and stay very special with a lovely welcome gift and glass of champagne on the day - asante sana!

I had breakfast and a couple of dinners while I was there. The food was very nice but I would have liked a bit more variety.

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful resort, and we can honestly say it exceeded all our expectations. The owners and staff are incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was ever too much to ask – their hospitality goes above and beyond, whether it was arranging a private dinner for two or making sure we were comfortable in every way. The resort itself is stunning and very well-maintained, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The pool area is perfect, with plenty of loungers available, so we never had to worry about finding a spot. The food was fantastic, and every meal felt like a special treat. One of our personal highlights was the amazing shower – such a simple thing, but it really made a difference to our experience. Overall, the attention to detail, the tranquility, and the genuine care from the staff made this stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Our stay at the Zen Boutique Hotel in Zanzibar was absolutely fantastic! The hotel complex features beautiful bungalows that are both stylish and comfortable, providing a true oasis of tranquility. This place is truly a zen paradise. We didn’t want to leave. The property has great facilities the pool is large and beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable and breakfast was amazing. The staff are very attentive to all your needs. This is also the only hotel we’ve been to in Zanzibar that the WiFi works. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. If you’re looking for a place to kick back and chill this is definitely the one.

Nothing but it should be noted that you cannot walk to the beach or anywhere for that matter. You’ll need a cab which they will happily arrange for you.

Everything was absolutely great! Staff is super friendly. Food was amazing. Rooms were big and absolutely clean. The vibe was just unbelievably good. The service was great. Everyone tried to make everything we needed possible. This resort is the perfect place to relax and enjoy. They offer trips with a company that are not overpriced and all super friendly. The owners Sarah and Ty were always present and checking in on us several times a day. We actually liked it so much that we left our second hotel at the beach after a few nights to spend the rest of our time in Jambiani at Zen. It was just too good. Don't hesitate to book this hotel!

Unfortunately the hotel is not directly at the beach. But you can walk to the beach and in just a few minutes you are at the most beautiful beach in Zanzibar. You can also take a taxi to beaches closed by for very little money.

We loved Zen Boutique so much! We felt extremely welcome and the staff were all wonderful. We were given a lot of information and offered support in organising activities. Our suitcase was lost and the staff took care of the communication with the airport, making sure our luggage arrived at destination. The Resort is beautiful and located on the edge of the forest. It was very special, especially during sunset. The food and cocktails were also very good and breakfast amazing. It all feels very new and is decorated with taste. The outside bathroom was also a very cool experience. Best place we stayed in Zanzibar, and there were quite a few. We’ll definitely be back!

Nothing. We were a tiny bit worried about the firm mattress when we arrived but ended up sleeping very well.

We loved this beautiful property! It had breathtaking views from the top floor of the clubhouse bar it was amazing! The staff were extremely friendly and the owners were super helpful and welcoming you will love them! The food was great in the restaurant and the breakfast was always fresh and delicious! The pool was beautiful the nicest property in the area! Highly recommended for anyone for a few days. The outside shower was heavenly!

Please bear in mind that power across the whole island is not great it’s something that we experienced in all of the properties we stayed at, but it didn’t affect our stay.

We felt so welcome from the minute we walked in! immaculate vibes ,positive energy,amazing music, stunning 3 story bar where you can eat & watch unreal sunset on the rooftop, very clean rooms, great food options & cocktail menu! A one of a kind place. We felt welcome and could relax and de-stress! We truly recommend this accommodation! Location: Although not at the beach, it’s literally a short stroll across the road. It also makes it a quite place, ideally to relax. Service: Staff was exceptionally welcoming and helped with all your questions. We were also happily surprised by the effort they do to reduce platsic waste. You can for example refill your waterbottle for free. Depending on the time and energy you want to put into negotiation during your holidays we do recommend to arrange an airportshuttle through uber or negotiate with a taxidriver at the airport itself. Booking a car for the whole week and picking it up in the airport is an even better idea. Also the laundry and daytours can be found cheaper (negotiate the trips by going with your own car) Room: The room is spacious, with a lovely outside bathroom, with good shower pressure and always hot water, airconditioning, silent refrigerator and water cooker with coffee and tea. Everyday your room is cleaned and you get clean towels for the bedroom + additional one’s for the swimmingpool. A plus was the fresh water refilled in a glass bottle everyday in the room included in the package. Breakfast: The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruits, granola, yoghurt, eggs, pancakes, smoothie, fresh baked sweets… the best!
