Everything - the staff is amazing (shout out to Charlotte, Jeremy and Martin as well as all the servers), the location is perfect, the facilities and the room are comfortable and cozy, and it is great value for money. I felt extremely safe as a solo female traveler and would recommend this place to anyone! The beach: I loved the changing tides, it made for a very special experience. In the morning, you could walk out so far and see people farming the algae. by the afternoon, the water was nearly to the hotel property and you could swim easily. In the late afternoon, all the local kids are out playing - girls running on the beach and boys playing football. At night, you can take your flash light on your phone and walk far out as it’s low tide, and admire the stars above you. The hotel room - so clean and comfortable! The hotel generally - beautiful and cozy. I loved sitting upstairs for meals and watching the sea and feeling the breeze. I could always find my own space that was serene and tranquil, even as a solo traveler. They even had water shoes and sunscreen you could use, which really came in handy! Prices were fair and reasonable. Food was delicious (excellent veggie options, great happy hour and cocktails, and excellent fruit juices). Activities- I went on a snorkeling trip on a traditional sail boat and it was amazing! The hotel organized it. Next door is a kite surf place and had I had more time, I would have loved to try. Jambiani is the best area - tranquil though well serviced, still feels authentic despite an obvious influx of tourists.

Nothing!

The communication with Charlotte was absolutely amazing, she even helped us get transfers and activities arranged while we were there. The location is right on the beach with no obstructions and the beach is absolutely beautiful. The food even though more expensive than the local restaurants was still good value for money and delicious. Happy hour is a nice touch. Charlotte was kind enough to get me a gluten-free porridge as an alternative to the bread for breakfast. I would definitely recommend!

The breakfast service is a bit slow and having to pay for any small extras was inconvenient even though the selection was quite nice.

Everything was amazing. Couldn't ask for a better place for our holidays, very relaxing, close to a calm beach but also with a nice pool for those low tides hours. The restaurant is very convenient and well priced. As we had the half pension option we had dinner at the restaurant every night and glad we did have it. Strongly recommend staying at Kupaga for a worry-free, relaxing vacation. We will definitely be back.

Only because we have to mention some negative aspect: While breakfast has several options, the portions are small and could do with a slight increase. We were happy with everything, in any event.

Jambo, Location location location...... right on the beach, yet centre of town, with it's own private beach around a lovely pool, we had a sea view room with a really comfy bed. The staff are all welcoming and friendly and Charlotte is a wonderful host, ensuring a pleasant experience for all guests. As for the food served...... Delicious! Fresh organic fruit and vegetables along side local produce and a lovely mix of African and European cuisine to suit every palate. The people of Jambiani are very friendly and welcoming, even the little children say "Jambo" welcome when you meet them on the street.

Having to pay "incoming insurance" either before arrival or at the airport! We already had a very good travel insurance policy, so not necessary to pay another $44 pp. This only started on October 1st, and is a complete rip off! It has the potential to damage the tourist industry on this beautiful island.

Pool is lovely Felt safe in the village and surrounding area Beach was lovely, it's used by locals and tourists in harmony Jessica was a super massage lady and reasonable at $25 for an hour Not much hassle at all from sellers on the beach Very calm sea outside the hotel for swimming at high tide Good air conditioning in the room Really lovely local Christmas gift from the hotel that was thoughtful, much better than an event for us

No shade in the pool or moveable umbrellas, you can move the beds though but you have to do it yourself

Everything was simply perfect. The whole staff was super friendly, the manager of this location is a very caring person and tried to satisfy every single wish we have had. You feel like home, that's for sure. The food was, especially in comparison to other hotels we've been at, amazing! Always fresh and the Kupaga is really taking care of a proper cold chain which is very important in countries with average temperatures of above 30 degrees celsius. Thank you, we are already planing our next visit at this location!

We can't really say that we have something to complain about but in general we made the experience that the prices are more on the high side in this hotel. !BUT! every single penny was worth it though. It's contrary, but that's how we would describe it. Small suggestions for improvement: 1. the mattresses are a bit hard for light persons. However, we didn't ask for a topper which is maybe available? 2. The collection of wines - there's definitely room for better ones.

The staff are very genuine and give you a perfect service. The location is super good with the amazing beach and next door you have the local village which is safe to visit. The breakfast has very good quality (A la carte) and the restaurant in general is great. Compared to other hotel in same range and area we felt that you can get a lot for your money here, excursions, food and drinks etc.

WiFi could be more stable but works!

The hotel occupies a very nice position on a wide wide-sand beach. It is a relaxing place. Rooms are comfortable, the aircon works well but may initially take very many hours to cool a large room down from 30C. The food is superb and local cocktails (such as pina colada) are excellent as they are made of fresh fruit and coconuts (2 for 1 during the happy hour). A good dive centre nearby (Melik dive). The beach is tidal but one can bathe / swim in high and low tide – shoes for walking the shallow waters are provided. The full-board arrangement with a one-course light lunch and a two-course dinner (plus water) works very well.

Internet is relatively weak

The proximity to the beach and the staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable. We did some excursions with them that were very good and reasonably priced. The restaurant had an amazing view over the beach and you could see the high and low tides. There were almost no sea urchins.

The pool was not very clean, but they were cleaning it every day. Although the restaurant staff was very nice it seemed some of them were not very experienced.

I have returned after 2 years to Kupaga Villas and must say that it is still the perfect beachfront luxurious boutique hotel. Now even more beautiful with renovated bar/restaurant area. Perfectly located in the Jamiani Village with small shops around the corner, close to the spectacular dunes and ocean landscapes. With lovely huge rooms, balconies with sea views, amazing pool, delicious food and drink options for reasonable prices. Perfect spot to unwind and have a happy time. The biggest asset of the hotel is the great service and super friendly staff. A big thank you to all the crew members for all your friendliness and profesionalism! You made my stay just perfect. I would return to Kupaga Villas anytime Asante! KR, Piotr
