Excellent location - handy for Aviemore and Boat of Garten. Wildlife just outside the panoramic windows including a regular early evening visit from a red squirrel. Cute ducklings on the lochan, deer and hares in the local fields. Comfy beds and well equipped kitchen, including a bonus air fryer!

Several other reviews have mentioned that some bits of the property/resort are starting to look rather tired. The faculties on site are not open in the evenings - didn’t bother us but if you were hoping for a sauna after a day on the hills or a pint in the bar, then you will need to look elsewhere.

The location was incredibly peaceful, which is exactly what we wanted. The staff is friendly, helpful and ready to go above and beyond any expected standard of service. They offered to give us (car-free folks) rides to wherever we needed and provided us with maps of all the local hikes. The pool and gym facility were convenient and perfectly adequate for our needs. Everything was clean and tidy in the cabin and the surrounding grounds. The layout of our cabin was excellent. The shower in the cabin was great and the toilet flushed well. Cartridge is a fabulous town.

The kitchen lacked some essential utensils, like a pancake flipper and rubber spatula. The knives were dull, which made food prep difficult. Otherwise, the kitchen was fine. The main bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. I did not sleep well, but our trip was so restful otherwise that was not a problem.

It was so peaceful, lots of space to walk and the wildlife. The swimming pool and Sauna was a blessing. The kids played table tennis in the games room. The staff were really helpful and lent me a game to play over Christmas! The lodge was cosy for 5 of us and a German Shep (2adults, 1child, 2teens) not sure where a 6th would have sat but it was a lovely cozy Christmas which is what we wanted. The Tv is freeview, which took a bit of getting used to but we enjoyed not having Netflix.

Not that I didn’t like it but beware it can be cold when you first go in. We put the heating on but it took hours. We’d brought blankets so it just added to the atmosphere! The lodges are a bit closer together than I thought they’d be but they are staggered so it didn’t feel on top of each other.

Loved our stay here. Really peaceful location. Lodges are small but absolutely perfect for our needs. Lovely conservatory with table/chairs and a comfy seat looking out onto the woods. Patio doors in conservatory open too, be lovely on a summer evening. Bedroom was tiny but again fine for us, comfy bed too. Very well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. Strong WiFi signal. There's a lovely little lochan beside reception with lots of ducks, nice to stroll around. So many fantastic walks in this area Nothing to complain about. We will definitely return

Bird feeders outside the cabins were all empty. Next time we'll take some food to top them up. Lots of wildlife about.

Fabulous staff! Really friendly and welcoming. Facilities, the pool has been refurbished recently, and although small was perfect for our family (5 and an almost 2 year old), there were floats and pool noodles available to use, which was great. The lochan is beautiful, and the ducks were a great source of entertainment for our kids, as was meeting the peahen! There are a couple of small playparks which our kids loved and if required for rainy days there was a well equipped activity room for the kids and also a games room with a pool table and giant connect 4! At the bar there is table tennis to keep kids and adults entertained! Overall, it was a fantastic location for a getaway. And the facilities are great.

The lodges are a little on the tired side. Some upgrades have been done, but could do with a bit more. Eg lovely linen and towels but mattresses on the beds old and requiring replaced, not horrifically uncomfortable, but could certainly be better! The bathroom had been recently re-tiled, but the bath was old and the taps didn't match, and the shower wasn't particularly efficient. There were a few basic items missing from the kitchen that I would expect in self catering accommodation, eg colander and a grater. Otherwise it was well equipped. The things I didn't like do not outweigh the things I did. I would absolutely come back!

After reading some of the reviews I was contemplating cancelling my booking, luckily I didn't do it. The restort is really nice, quiet and feels very private. Yes, you can tell that it has been around for sometime, but it didn't have any impact on the quality of my stay there. I would go back there again.

Seemed that some facilities were closed for refurb, but I was offered a voucher to use facilities nearby. It didn't have any impact on my stay as I was hiking and travelling for most of the time anyway and used the resort as the rest hub.

Lovely scenery. Lots of wildlife and ducks. Staff were very nice. Lodge was a little dated in parts but still perfectly comfortable and very clean. Pool was great. Very clean and lots of floaties and toys available for the kids. Had one of the nicest coffees ever at the bar. There's a games room and a kids activity room.

A restaurant would have been handy at the location. The bar could have had a few more options on their snack menu. You really need to plan ahead for meals. The 2 little play parks were nice but could have been a bit bigger with more equipment.

The cabins are beautiful and in excellent condition. The kitchen and bathroom have been remodelled and are very well maintained. The beds are good, and everything is very clean. The area around the cabins is beautiful. The path around the lake is gorgeous, and the natural world is amazing. There is a nice little playgruond for the little one.

There is poor communication with the staff. I asked them to put up a simple birthday note, and even though they said they would, they never did. Additionally, a man I spoke to on the phone before my stay was very negligent. During our stay, the pool was closed (we were allowed to use another pool in Avimore), and the facilities in general were either closed or in a sorry state. We have been to several hotels at different Mc Donald´s resort, and overall we really like them. However, they all have in common the fact that they let the place deteriorate. The deterioration of the public or entertainment spaces is evident, and these places cannot be used or enjoyed.

The location is perfect, situated right at the foot of the Cairngorms. This made it incredibly convenient to explore all the main attractions in the area, adding great value to the stay. The apartment was straightforward, with no dishwasher and simple rooms and bathroom. The abundance of wooden panels gave it a cozy, cabin-like feel, which added a unique charm to the place.

While it lacked some modern amenities like a dishwasher, the apartment was well-equipped for a comfortable stay. The simplicity of the rooms and bathroom matched the rustic cabin vibe.

We stayed for 3 nights. The location is very good and the site is lovely. You can go for walks in the wood and there are a couple of playgrounds for kids. The ducks were really entertaining and kept the little ones busy. The cabin had everything we needed, plenty of towels, a bit on the small side for 5 people, but we were comfortable for our short stay. The staff was very kind.

The cabin needs some refurbishing, it was very clean, which is good, but it felt a bit dated. The facilities were closed for refurbishment, but they allowed us to use the swimming pool of the other complex in Aviemore, about 15min away by car, which was great.
