Charming little place in a very quiet location, I'd love to go back with friends or family and have everybody in the big kitchen and open dining space. The separate little breakfast/evening dining space had a great little log fire and a well stocked bar. I used the lounge on the last night and Kay (hostess) set the log fire up in there too whilst I had sampled a few whiskeys after the Loch Ness Marathon, a perfect end to an already great weekend! :) There's a little walk (loop) you can do on an evening through Tomatin and back around the road that leads to the lodge, it's only short but it was nice and quiet with no cars. If I pluck up the courage to run or visit Inverness again, I'd be more than happy to check in here

The accommodation, in a very secluded location, is gorgeous. Very clean and quaint. The bedroom was amazingly warm and cosy, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful and clean. And the hot water in the shower was plentiful! The kitchen was very organised (bearing in mind people are self catering here so you need to know where things are, and everything is labelled) and there is a lovely dining area (in addition to the table in the kitchen), and a very relaxing lounge/reading room. Kay made sure that we were comfortable, and was available for any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this delightful property.

Nothing!

Very kind owner, clear and easy applicable checkin information. Quiet area. Common rooms equipped and furnished with love. Very good price-value. For us, with car, perfectly situated in middle of highland close to main highway. If you plan ahead in terms of grocery shopping, then you will have a perfect cozy stay here

Don't recommend our room for people with dust allergy (carpet, carpeted bed end etc), but no point deductions cause that was entirely our own fault and clearly visible on the pictures. Surrounding is not such a great vista for exploring on foot, rather industry heavy, but probably is wonderful to explore on bike

Glenan Lodge is a charming house with comfortable rooms and lots of nature around. It was my base for day trips in the Highlands. It's perfect for anyone who seeks a peaceful atmosphere a little outside of major tourism hotspots while still being centrally located. The common areas offer everything you could possibly need & and more to make this place a home away from home. The host Kay is a lovely person and provided me with great tips for little adventures in the area. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a lovely little find. Just 20 minutes from Inverness and in a tranquil setting. I got a very warm welcome on arrival and everything I could need for my stay. I was in the smallest room, but everything I needed was in there, TV, kettle, hanging space, drawers, and the bed was comfy. It was also spotlessly clean.

Nothing, it was exactly what I needed.

This is an excellent guest house offering comfortable beds, lovely meals and a nice bar. We really appreciate having an evening meal prepared for us and enjoyed the food emensly. Breakfast had great variety with something for every taste. This make an excellent centre for a holiday or stopover. We spent three days cycling on lovely quiet roads with super views. A warm and homely house. Our hostess couldn't have been more helpful.

Really nice peaceful location surrounded by wildlife. The self catering kitchen has everything you need. Dining room and living room to eat & relax are great. Honesty bar with a wide variety of drinks. Excellent communication and seamless check in/out. Would definitely stay here again. Tesco & Aldi 20 min ish drive away. Great stop off for NC500.

I used the lodge as a stop off trying to find a walk from Aviemore to Inverness, this was a convenient stop off that was very comfortable. Next to the distillery. The village centre has a nice centre with a good view of the bridges where I had a late lunch.

The village is small and, apart from the centre has limited facilities.

The owner is very friendly and always up for a nice chat and suggestions for what to do in the area. Breakfast was just lovely and there even was the option to get a hot meal for dinner if you let them know in the afternoon. The single room was a bit small, but I was very happy with it and everything was kept neat and clean. To be honest, I chose Tomatin kind of randomly because it's on the A9 and I wanted a single (quiet/remote) base for trips to either Loch Ness, Inverness, northern Cairngorms, Speyside and western Highlands and I really am glad I did. It was just great for the trips I planned and for me as a hiker and a whisky lover it sure was a plus, that Glenan Lodge practically neighbours the Tomatin distillery and a moor and can you just conveniently take a stroll over to the visitors center and on another day start an extensive hike right in the "backyard" of the guest house. In town there's a community center with a shop, restaurant, bakery and a small cafe that serves fantastic cakes.
