Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast choice was very good. Evening meals also good. Cosy atmosphere in the bar area, with coal fire.

On the first night there was no heating in the rooms due to a fault with the central heating boiler. We were offerd an oil filled electric heater but declined as we were told the heating would be on by 6.30pm but it never came on. We asked for a heater later that evening but there was none availble (I imagine other guests had taken them when first offered). Central heating boiler was fixed the next day so rooms were then nice and warm.

Small portion (1 sausage, 1 rasher bacon, egg of choice and beans) plus toast. Friendly staff who were very accommodating. New block with shower facilities and kitchen was good. We used it lots! Shower good 👍

Food and drink was expensive! We also paid you prior to our departure but the Fiox and Hound had not received payment from you. Consequently, they took it again! We had to provide evidence we had paid you before they would issue a refund. We haven’t yet checked to see if this has been done. In future, please pay the accommodation prior to a customers arrival. This caused a little bit of distress. Thank goodness we were able to prove we’d paid! You literally get what you pay for, nothing more

The accomodation was exceptionally clean and fresh. The staff were warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to make my stay pleasurable the view from my room was fabulous. I didnt take a dog so I didnt notice if there was an outside tap and hose I would have needed one if I'd have taken my dog as she loves the mud.

The bed wasnt the most comfortable for me (princess and the pea sinario)nobody's fault, but I have a bad back so it's not unusual when I'm not in my usual bed. Reception for bbc 1 was poor I missed 2 episodes of eastenders and watched it on catch up when I got home. I'm a sad woman

On arrival the young girl at the bar (Did not see her name) was quick and efficient. She explained everything and showed us where to go. She then served us for dinner and is a great asset to your team and again nothing was too much trouble and even did an excellent job of upselling one of the specials as a starter. The food was delicious, great portions and quick. The inn is a gorgeous country pub but with some gorgeous touches that make it feel really comfy. Eg underfloor heating in bedrooms/bathrooms. Water in your rooms, super comfy large bed and huge bathroom. The open fire and relaxed, personal atmosphere was a charm. We would definitely come back again.

Nothing .... I would maybe say if the confirmation could say about the additional parking to right of the car park entry as we arrived after dark so did not see the sign.

We had a very enjoyable two night stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfasts. Didn't have evening meals so can't comment. No

Suggested that a coat rack is needed to hang up outdoor coats. The room we had didn't have anywhere to hang them other than inside the small wardrobe: not practical if it's been pouring down. Protruding springs in the mattress made the first night's sleep difficult for my other half. But when we flipped the mattress over everything was fine the next night.

The Fox and Hounds exceeded my expectations in every way. It is a very clean, comfortable, and well-run inn without being over-fussy or modern. The breakfast was excellent and the choice of food and wines for the evening meal very good. I found the staff kind, attentive and helpful. I consider that the Fox and Hounds to be one of the best places that I have stayed at and I hope that others will think so too. I hope to return.

Fabulous location for our walking holiday. Really good home made food - good choice of standard menu and specials. Liked the fact you could have anything from the menu in the evening - we don't always want a big, cooked meal. Excellent choice at breakfast....porridge (with cream and brown sugar) and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs highly recommended. Liked eating in the cosy bar. Very dog friendly - always biscuits on the bar for doggy guests and they can also have a doggy breakfast (extra charge) too. Bar and meal service staff very friendly, obliging and efficient. Well done folks.

Just a little niggle. A charge of £10.00 per night is made for dogs (rather than the more usual £10.00 per stay) but it was clear the carpet was not vac'd every day.

Friendly village inn, the staff were very helpful and brought a heater when they couldn't get the radiator to come on. We had a superior room which was a good size and a comfy bed. Nice to have a sofa to sit on to look at the fabulous view, with stunning sunsets and starry skies. Good to have the choice of a bath or shower. The staff welcomed our dog and there are walks straight outside the pub.

The Breakfast was lovely ,cereals ,fruit juices ,fresh fruit ,then you chose your main breakfast then asked if we'd like toast & what drink we preferred.Plenty of choice ! We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the location was great. Clean room Plenty of tea coffee & hot choc in the room,we asked for extra milk & were given more ,nothing was too much trouble. Other touches bottles of water & delicious biscuits! The staff are lovely, very welcoming place & very picturesque would definitely return again.

Didn't affect our stay at all, just thought the power leads needed a longer length on the kettle as a bit difficult to boil the kettle in relation to the TV above and postion of the sockets but nothing major. Lack of phone service as needed to contact child away with school on a trip but managed to get WiFi on so we used an app to call instead.

The location was awesome, situated near the North Yorkshire Moors. The hotel has great staff and you are always made to feel welcomed. The food on the menu was great and we loved the fact that it was all available whenever they were serving food.

Sometimes they didn't seem to have enough staff for the numbers of guests in the hotel and to run the pub and restaurant at the same time.
