The staff were very helpful and friendly, lovely location next to Eaglesham Green, with easy access to Glasgow and the surrounding area. Excellent food !

We came with our dog, and although the reception area is relaxing to meet friends for coffee, the large low coffee table is not comfortable or easy to eat an evening meal. I did ask at reception if we could have a table in the dog-friendly area to sit at whilst eating, but I was told I was lucky that we were allowed a dog in the hotel. So I suggested that a table for eating in the dog-friendly area would in future be helpful to other guests.

The bar and restaurant was lovely and staff were very attentive the only fault I would say was the young bar staff on the saterday were very keen to finish felt as if we were getting rushed out before 11 apart from that they were very nice.Check in was very easy and the girl Lotty on the reception was a lovely girl and very good at her job we decide to upgrade our room and she kindly showed us round.The hotel is gothic style very nice lovely decor and the room was lovely and clean over all lovely stay.

The younger staff in the bar on the saturday were lovely throughout the night but at the end were very keen for us to leave I overheard a friend ask when they would be finished as they were going out so before 11 it seemed they were taking our drinks away just young workers normal to want finished on a saturday im sure we have all been there.Apart from that I cant fault the bat staff as the rest of the night they looked after us well.

Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful at all times, a pleasure to stay there.

I usually request a walk in shower when staying in a hotel but forgot in this instance. I can't climb into a bath so a bit difficult to get a proper wash. I was on my own so thought the price of £158 for bed and breakfast was extremely expensive for 1 person for 1 night and the prices have since gone way back down. I suppose it's inevitable for a holiday weekend, although I would say if it had been booked booked for 2 occupants I would have found the room very small.

Staff, from the moment we arrived, were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The hotel is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and even though quite fully booked, very peaceful. We had breakfast both mornings, staff were very attentive, and there was lots of choice from continental to hot food to choose from. All delicious. The location is fantastic, the A-shaped village layout is beautiful and quirky and makes you feel you're on location of a BBC drama set. There are lots of places to walk the dog, and the local chinese and italian are extremely tasty.

The hotel facilities are fine, but the staff are an unbelievably friendly and helpful bunch. We travelled with our dog, who was spoiled rotten by the staff, with "doggie muffins" being offered frequently. We lunched with my father, who is in a wheelchair; the staff were incredibly accommodating to his needs, for which we are extremely grateful. Unlike the many big corporate hotels we've stayed in over the years, the Eglinton Arms stands out for its exceptional friendly staff. There were one or two minor niggles with the room, which were fixed immediately.

One of the best things about this hotel is the lovely staff. They are all friendly, helpful and made a fuss of our dog which was nice. The setting is peaceful being on the edge of a small park but it also feels very much as though the hotel is part of the community.

The room was small, had no window and was painted dark brown. There were no bedside lights ( just one very weak side light above the bed) which made it dingy without the main lights on. A paler colour and some local colour photos or paintings would make a huge difference.

Stayed for 3 nights. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Clean rooms . Restaurant and room service meals were good. Easy access by car to Glasgow and the beaches on the Ayrshire Coast. Would stay here again if visiting that part of Scotland.

Parking available inside hotel grounds although if restaurant is busy with non residents the car park tends to be full until about 9 pm (after which spaces become available). There was easy parking on the roads nearby however which was not a problem.

Staff were all amazing. Extras in room were a nice touch. Bar great. Starters amazing. Location is unreal, the hill on the right of the hotel has a bar and a great hidden gem of a cocktail bar with pool table. Lovely little village, felt safe. Good park across road

Asked for steak medium and came rare and my main wasn't piping hot. Room was very very hot as no air con. We couldn't open skyline windows because it was raining. Toilet was blocked.

room was comfortable - good facilities shower pressure amazing bed was very comfortable and room even though only a velux window was ventilated well

HOWEVER Shower base very slippy nothing to hang onto to get into shower as floor was so slippy, even when dry a couple of bits of detritus left in room - bottle top form shower gel still in shower and key card envelope for a different room at back of one of the chairs

The breakfast was lovely. Service was great. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. It was a lovely stay. The shower was amazing, very powerful. Room was spotless. I love a bath, so had one soon as I checked in, endless supply of hot water.

I personally don't like a firm bed or pillows, I didn't have the best sleep and the couple in the next room, one of them, their snoring was horrendous. It was really bad, it kept me and partner up a lot of the night. I know this cant be helped, but it was off putting.
