Just what we wanted, we went for the deluxe room, and it was massive. Huge double bed nice and firm. The whole hotel was very clean. Maid service really good. Toilets in Italy can be a little iffy, but all good in that area. The no2 bus to venice stopped literally just outside, although always crowded, not a long journey at all, and run after midnight. You have the option of a train too if you prefer but can be confusing. Get yourselves a night cap at the hotel bar next door and take it to your room. Express airport 20 min service stops 100m away, so really good too, just make sure you get the ticket for train station not the 'city'.

Breakfast wasn't included in our deal, we got it once on the first day, wasn't expensive but pretty basic buffet style, much preferred the pavement cafes in venice. We got a 3 day transport pass ( bus and water buses) which turned out to be the best way of travelling for us, really easy tap on system. Tried the train a couple of times, pretty cheap, but found it really confusing, you have to buy a ticket for a particular time, if you leave it too late you can miss that train trying to find the right platform. Crowds can make buying a ticket a little stressful. We had a quick wander around the hotel, but local bars weren't for us, the hotel bar/restaurant was great, found ourselves going for a quick drink and sometimes a snack everyday,

Hotel Plaza is very well located if you're looking for something not so expensive and easy to get in and out from Venezia. Landing from VCE you can take the ATVO Express bus, which drops you no more than 3 minutes from the Hotel. It's a bit expensive but it's worth. Takes around 20 minutes and costs 10 euros per person per direction. If you buy online, you can also schedule departure and return which saves you some euros. Don't waste you time by getting to Venezia by trams or buses. Regional trains leave the Mestre station almost every 10 minutes, which is in front of the hotel, you really just need to cross the street, for 1.45 euros per person each direction and takes around 10 minutes to get to Venezia. The hotel also has good restaurant, which was our pick for the first night since we were pretty tired. They didn't mention here in Booking, but while there might not be an electrical kettle in your room, you can request hot water in that same restaurant from 6AM to midnight. You also have a supermarket 5 minutes walking from it which has a lot of options too. All the short interactions we had with the staff were always courteous, in well spoken English or Italian. One thing worth mentioning, but I'll not mention as a con, because I also didn't pursuit to change it, but the pillows were really hard. The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillow was like sleeping on a tree's trunk. I could/should ask for something softer, but after 6 hours of taking pictures and enjoying Venice, a good part of my body lacked skills to communicate and I just wanted to sleep, which I succeeded too. The breakfast is good. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it at all. You get pancakes from a machine, croissants, cake and some hot food as well as coffee (duh!) and juices.

The area looks a bit unsafe, but it's a busy train station, you would expect that, which also leads to a bit busy and noise environment, specially the units facing the station. The trains themselves are not the problem at all, but people talk outside the station until late and it's also an important bus station filled street, lots of bus sound through the night. The lack of an electrical kettle or some coffee machine is a bit annoying. The shower layout is a bit weird. It's made like a corridor, within the bathroom of course, but too far from the lights from the ceiling. Having no source of light in the shower was a bit uncomfortable.

Very comfortable bed. We were at the end of a lengthy trip (Indiana to Charlotte to London to Venice) of about 30 hours, so we were zombies when we got to the hotel, so that bed was important. We ate breakfast in the hotel (standard European cold meat and cheese, etc. which was okay.

The shower head was fixed height. I'm 6'-2", and it hit me in mid-chest. It had a rain head, but that's just not the same for me. I was surprised they didn't use the slide bar to adjust the wall shower head height. It made shampooing difficult.

Location was fantastic . Mestre itself is very close to venice railway station St Luccia . Hotel is located right in front of train station and Bus stand hence very easy to travel around Italy by road or by train if one so desires. Room was spacious and bathroom clean. In house Breakfast was sumptuous and good quality . It was bit like a retro style Hotel which matched with the Rustic era of venetian lifestyle with earthy tones and natural texture used in the decor with simplistic touch wherein a few modern gadgets have been pushed in to provide the comfort of contemporary lifestyle .The staff was very courteous and helpful and they spoke english.. The in house restaurant was great.

There was no tea/coffee machine in the room. No iron board and iron ( one has to ask for the same at the reception and it will be provided on demand) Though it was mandatory by decree of Government there was an exit tax on and above the Room rate which is levied at the time of Check out. The main entrance door opened outside hence it is better to wait a few seconds before entering .

The room is very big, the biggest room of all my 6 bookings in Italy. Clean and comfortable. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from rental car parking, which means I need not to drag my luggage for long distance after returning the car. It's also just opposite of Mestre station. Breakfast was good with many varieties. A very good value for money.

Being very close to the train station, there were people, probably drunkards, making huge noise on the street in the middle of the night for at least 45mins which our sleeps were disturbed. Not the fault of hotel, but it's the problem of the surroundings.

Loved the excellent location in front of train station and right beside car rental. Lots of food options on the street, some open till late. Loved the luggage storage option after check out so we could go explore hands free in Venice. Breakfast was OK. It was catering to Americans though so didn't feel that authentic Italian. There were lots of options and food was plenty. Staff was very friendly and sent trolley to help us carry luggage from car to the rooms. Very convenient. Rooms were a bit small but comfortable. They had a mini fridge but as expected, everything inside was very expensive. Washroom was stocked with toilet paper, hand soap and shampoo. I would stay here again.

Not much to dislike. Bath tub had some mold and one of the rooms, lights kept turning off though when we complained, they sent someone to fix it and then it worked fine.

Room is excellent and very spacey. Cleaning is happened every day and very accurate. Everything is very tidy. Beds are really huge and very comfortable for two persons, real king size. Location for travel to Venezia "island" is ideal. Bus no.2 moving across the road every 10 minutes and cost 1.50 euro. It arrives to Piazza di Roma, which is connected with all Venice locations by vaparetto. Hotel parking is behind the hotel and should be booked early enough, because it is highly required by customers. Personnel are very helpful and service oriented.

At the room there are no tea-kettle and cups, but hotel suggest slippers, which are not mentioned in the hotel description. We bring our own, and find that slippers are available and very cosy :-) On more minor things, pillows are only one hardness level and not fit to all my family members (three are happy, one is not).

Still the best place to hop on a train to Venice from the Mestre station. Our rooms have obviously not been renovated but bedding was excellent and staff very helpful. They have access (for a fee) to a small parking behind the hotel: not the easiest access, but still convenient! We come here regularly (like: every year) for a night or two as Venice/Mestre is half way on our long journey... (and Mestre is a lot more convenient when you have a full car of luggages than getting all the way to the Venice parking and then walking wherever is your hotel!)

Some rooms are renovated; others are not. Kind of a gamble (or booking clients get unrenovated? We will never know).

Friendly staff. Good breakfasts.

Parking is far to other places. And they double charged me for the parking. We paid in the reception and cannot get out of the garage, we have to pay at the garage gate
