We really enjoyed our stay at Vila Nova Guesthouse. Even before arriving, the staff has been very kind in answering all of our questions via the chat. We arrived before the check in time and they gave us the option to get an available room (superior) with a 20€ upgrade. The bed was comfortable, the room was big and it also came with a small balcony. The bathroom had a very big shower and there was also the bidet. Going to the city centre only took something like 15 minutes walking and the neighbourhood is safe, there’s an underground 100 meters from it and there are many restaurants and posh boutiques. A positive note for the cleaning, everyday the room has been carefully cleaned by the cleaning ladies. Would definitely come back

The location. The guesthouse placed in the square Marques de Pombal. It took as around 20min by foot to the ocean shore. The room was clean.

The window of our room was faced the vnitroblock. The pick-up pipe from the restaurant downstairs worked 24/7. 1st night we had to close the window to eliminate the noise of the pipe, but it was too hot to sleep without the fresh air. So the rest of the days we slept with opened-window. We peeped the rooms which whindows faced the street and they seemed to be ever bigger then our. If I would have a choice i would go for that room with windows on the main street. The service is coming every day, the staff is helpful and kind. Overall we liked the place and would like to come again.

I stayed in a single room. The price-quality ratio is excellent. Very good location, just below and in the surroundings there are several cafes where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very clean and the reception staff very friendly. The rooms have wi-fi, air conditioning, hot water and a safe. The bed is comfortable and there is cleaning service. I have no complaints. Just keep in mind that this accommodation does not include meals. In my case, it was just what I was looking for, as I wanted to try Portuguese cuisine in the surrounding area. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Lisbon. Fiquei em quarto individual. A relação qualidade-preço é excelente. Muito boa localização, logo abaixo e na envolvente existem vários cafés onde pode tomar o pequeno-almoço, almoçar ou jantar. Muito limpo e o pessoal da recepção muito simpático. Os quartos dispõem de wi-fi, ar condicionado, água quente e cofre. A cama é confortável e há serviço de limpeza. Não tenho queixas. Basta ter em conta que este alojamento não inclui refeições. No meu caso era exactamente o que procurava, pois queria experimentar a cozinha portuguesa na zona envolvente. Ficarei lá novamente com certeza quando voltar a Lisboa.

Great location, very close to Parque Eduardo VII, which was great for one of the Christmas markets. Also very convenient from the airport bus 744 terminus point and the metro stations. The room was very quiet, no street noise at all and was clean. Bed was comfortable. Good air conditioning. Bathroom was small, like the room, but complimentary toiletries, which looked to be good quality (although I didn’t test them. No problem checking out at 3.15am and member of staff rang for a taxi for me.

The room was very small and only had a very narrow window. The only plug socket I could find was actually hidden behind the wardrobe, so had to move the wardrobe to charge phone etc. would have like a kettle for a morning brew as no drinks available in the hotel.

Good Location Near Marquis Pombal station which connects with other lines or goes down the main part of downtown. Charming vibe, saw a beautiful view of the sunrise over the city from my room!

The toilets/bathroom smelled like sewer water all day. It was so gross.

Very friendly / helpful staff at reception (especially Testimo) clean and near the main streets / metro. Nice room. Small but in proportion and with small private bathroom. Comfy bed.

The long hanging curtain was ‘see-through ‘ and there was a section of window which let light in. So, light sensitive people need an eye mask! V small room, but this was known upfront and was enough for one person. Cleaning staff bit noisy, but I got used to it.

The accommodation was well priced, quiet, clean, and in a good location for exploring Lisbon. Easy to catch public transport to Sintra and the Pena Palace.

We had a very small standard room, probably too small for two people for three nights and a very small and unsafe bathroom for a couple in their late sixties. I didn't see any photos of this bathroom on the website. It was a little mirrored alcove in front of the bed, which you had to step up into and a small shower which you had to step up into. A nightmare for someone who broke their ankle slipping out of a shower a couple of years ago. They did have a non-slip shower mat, but I would not recommend this room for people with mobility issues.

- Nice guesthouse, looked more to a hotel rather than a guesthouse - which is always a plus! - Big building and lots of rooms! - Dont miss to visit the nice cafe next to the guesthouse (nice pasteis de nata) - Next to metro and/or you can be easily in the centre within 15-20 min walk - Decent-size of rooms, great decor and generally clean (except bathroom...) - Professional staff, reception was always there

- Bathroom could be better, really small and not really previously clean. we found lots of hair from the people that stayed previously - Inner sound isolation, which is common in most of the hotels. Cleaners woke us up very early in the morning..

Very clean and tidy, but unfortunately we did not have a fridge in our room. I did not mind the small space but I had the chance to see a different room in the same guest house. It was much ,much bigger, with a fridge and a kettle, big wardrobe as well. When we asked at the reception about that we were told that we booked for a standard room... But we did not know that and the price was almost the same. So if you book, be mindful about your request. Otherwise, I would really recommend this accommodation, placed in a very nice area, Marquis de Pombal. There is a lovery café just outside the house, serving pastries and very good coffee! Metro station just few minutes away, only 3 stops to reach the old city centre. From the plaza square you could get the hop in, hop off buses. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We appreciated the cleanliness and the surrounding, it's definitely a beautiful area.

We really missed the fridge in the room.
