A nice quiet place with a room that was the right size for just me. The owner/manager was very friendly, and we had common interest in my visit (we both play Ingress). A great little spot, a short walk away from the city centre. 20 minute walk with full back pack to Rotterdam Centraal. All flat.

Possibly the only thing I didn't like was me not realising air conditioning existed! As it was quite warm overnight, having eventually found the remote control for the AC (it really wasn't hidden or anything like that ... it was just me!), then it was perfect!

Nice staff: friendly and helpful, they are reachable 24/7. The hotel is looking humble from outside, there is no "great entrance" or double door, actually, you have to use a doorbell to enter the hotel. But once inside you are met with nice people that work there, quick service and cozy interior. Rooms are nice and tidy, with huge panoramic window and two sets of curtains to keep the room extra dark during your sleep. The beds are comfy, with warm blankets and puffy pillows. Bathroom is as-clean-as-new with all the nessessary utilities (toilet paper, soap, towels).

Room view: as we were living on the first floor, window was facing other buildings that were obstructing the city view.

The people, all the people working there were super kind and helpful in every way. The Garden Terrace is lovely, and the breakfast is extensive and really super. Lift is great as stairs are very narrow. From outside it perhaps doesn't look much but inside its a really nice family hotel which I can recommend. And it has twin rooms which many hotels in Rotterdam do not.

Mosquitos but not the hotels fault. I opened the window as it had trees outside the window. Should have stuck to the AC which the room had and was working perfectly.

The hotel gave me a very nice ground floor room with my own external door leading to a semi-private sitting-out area and the hotel's small but charming back garden beyond. The ambience of my room was very pleasant, with striking decor on the wall behind the bed, and good quality lighting fixtures. The cork (rather than plastic) swipecard by way of a room 'key' was an interesting and eco-friendly feature. I appreciated having tea and coffee making facilities in the room. My bathroom had a substantial bathtub, and I enjoyed making full use of this. The hotel's buffet breakfast was very nice, with a good range of food and drink on offer. Staff were all friendly and helpful, and although it's quite a small hotel, their reception desk was manned around the clock. The hotel was conveniently located on the edge of the Museums Quarter, on a tram route and just 4 minutes walk from a metro station (Dijkzigt).

I could have done with a thicker covering on my bed for the chilly night-time temperature.

A very nice little hotel a short distance from the city centre and handy for tram (Line 4) or Metro (Dijkzigt). I had a very comfortable single room. Breakfast was very good. There's a number of nice bars at the end of the road, and an ice-cream shop that opens late. A good base for exploring Rotterdam by tram, metro or foot.

Very little to complain about. The building next door was under renovation so the entrance to the hotel is a little hidden but no great problem. Stairs are very steep, so probably not ideal for those with limited mobility but there is a lift.

This small hotel is perfectly located near major cultural features, shopping opportunities, and restaurants. The staff are outstanding: courteous, helpful, welcoming. Our room was lovely and well appointed, with a super comfortable bed!The breakfast is especially good, with a wide variety for all tastes. There is public transport very near the entrance. We feel so fortunate to have found the Hotel Van Walsum and highly recommend it!

Nothing.

A lovely family-run hotel. Staff were friendly and professional. Rooms were spacious with decent bathroom. The buffet breakfast was fresh and plentiful with scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and bacon - plus loads of pastries, yoghurts, fruit and cold meats / cheeses. Good coffee machine too. Nice little garden at the rear of the breakfast room to take your coffee afterwards. The small bar area was handy to meet up before a night out. Although the number 4 tram was under renovation, it was a few minutes walk to the metro or under ten mins walk into the city centre, through a street of bars and cafes, with two supermarkets.

Was all very good.

Very friendly staff! Receptionist was so kind and helpful, giving us lots of ideas of where to eat and sightsee Our room led onto the garden which was beautiful, nice to sit outside I asked for a fan because it was too warm and was provided with one which kept us cool Everything was within a 30 minute walk Spacious room and bathroom. Nice bath and shower

Because our room led onto the garden, our room smelt like cigarettes when people outside smoked Kind of expensive at the bar, over 7 euros for a small bag of crisps and large water Sometimes flush would stick in toilet and water would run constantly. Just had to flush again and sorted itself out

The hotel was in a great location to see the museums and for restaurants. The hotel itself was spotless, the room was great and the food and staff were faultless.

The parking was pretty stressful for us as we were doing a road trip in a classic car which was very low - but that's not the hotels fault (and something we took for granted from living in the UK), in fact the staff member on the check-in desk was amazing and helped us to find somewhere secure and suitable to park during our stay - thank you!

This family-run hotel in the heart of Rotterdam is lovely. The room we had was enormous with high ceilings and comfortable chairs to sit. The bed was very comfortable and the entire hotel is sparkling clean. The breakfast is excellent, with lots of choice including bacon and eggs, cold meats and cheeses, different breads (including a toaster), fruit, juice, multi-coffee maker. One of the things we enjoyed the most was in the evening we were able to order from the bar (behind the front desk in the breakfast room), and we were able to order their daily soups and breads for dinner. The staff were universally friendly and helpful.
