Everything was clean and picturesque, and the staff was nice. The location is amazing if you ride a motorcycle, or if you like to ride Tail of the Dragon. The food was decent, and the atmosphere was of the resort was generally calming.

The stay seemed overpriced (however, it was a holiday weekend). While everything was good, for the price the cabin wasn't breath-taking. The upstairs bartender didn't provide last call. The food was nice but they didn't cook a steak to the desired temperature, and the other meals seemed to be somewhat bland. The breakfast is not complementary.

The Tapoco has become an annual birthday vacation spot for us. Slightly belated this year due to inclement weather in our home town on my birthday week, but the lodge worked with us on our cancellation and we were able to come and enjoy the cabin we love just a few weeks late! We appreciate there patience! The cabin was spotless and stocked with all the needs for a traveler. We love these grounds! The lime hydrangeas are so beautiful this time of year! They assisted with reservations for dinner two of the three nights of our stay. We can’t enough about this friendly staff. Again a perfect stay with the lodge.

Loved breakfast and dinner and that it was available to us in a remote location. The cabin porches just need better lighting. The light cover full of bugs so little light there was, was dimmed by the light covers. Did not like the lack of light at cabin steps and entrance. Can’t get to switch before you have to navigate steps with luggage. There is an odd rise over run. No light and light rain made it pretty hard. But overall loved the experience.

Just the steps/lighting situation at the cabins

Beautiful location on the river. Quaint cabins with nice amenities. I love the sound of the rushing water near by and the beauty of the NC mountains. Staff was very pleasant at check in and in the restaurant. I also like knowing that they locked the gate at a certain time for security. As a female traveling alone, safety and security is very important. Nice gift shop, also.

Bathroom in the cabin could be updated. The entrance to the cabin was very dark and I had difficulty seeing the keypad to get into the cabin.

I drive down this beautiful scenery road and then I see this very nice and clean building next to a river flowing down the mountain. At first I did not believe that this was where I was staying the night, but it was. The lodge was nice, cozy and clean. They have charging for electric vehicles up the mountain which is a bit of a walk back down but their staff was so nice one of them stopped and drove me up the mountain back to my car without me asking. The food tasted fantastic and even though it was somewhat busy it came out quick and hot.

It was perfect! Like a hallmark movie. If I watched that kind of thing, of course. The amazing staff helped us arrange for our Christmas gifts (including the shipment of an 8’ surfboard for my son). Our families met us here on our visit from South America to spend the holidays and I couldn’t have picked a better hotel. It was beautiful- just as I dreamed it would be!

Not a thing!

Love the location & setting. The cabins take back you to another time, while providing all the amenities. Dinning options offer great food & drinks riverside or indoors in a variety of settings, including one with a cozy wine cellar atmosphere. The pizza is amazing!

We stayed in the Dogwood room, which was very spacious and had an extremely comfortable king-size bed. The view was back-facing. Guests should note that there are not TVs in the individual rooms. The room and adjoining bathroom were very clean and stocked with amenities. The breakfast buffet was excellent and there was a wide assortment of dishes to choose from, even for a picky eater. We had dinner for two nights at the Lodge - service and quality of food were very good - would recommend the wood-fired pizza and trout. Though not planned, we were there for the Cheoah River release and enjoyed watching the kayakers come downstream right in front of Lodge.

Beautiful scenery, beds were comfortable, food was good, staff was friendly.

Bathroom could use an update; a little over priced for the season IMO; wish trails had been more kept/cleared.

The property is very well maintained and it is absolutely beautiful! The lodge and our cabin were clean and lovely-perfect for our family of three. The staff was exceptional-genuinely sincere in offering advice on trails to hike, good fishing holes, and other things to do while visiting. Each person we came in contact with that worked at Tapoco went above and beyond, just like it was normal. Not forced-just sincere hospitality! Jasmine was our server at breakfast all three mornings and inquired what our plans were each day, and then gave us suggestions as to where to go and what to see. She was an amazing hostess and tended to our needs before we even asked. VERY friendly staff on the entire property!

We loved everything!
