The property is beautiful and the period interior design takes you back to that time and age. The inn is so beautifully decorated with antiques, furniture and pictures that give you a glimpse into the lives of the elite in the 1800’s. The host was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the house; we really enjoyed the tour. The staff were equally friendly and served a great breakfast which you can eat with a lovely view of the backyard. We also enjoyed the ability to get a drink from the bar and find a relaxing seat on their rooftop deck to look out at the river and watch the sunset. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely nothing

Breakfast was good the service was even better.We’re not much on grits but was excellent flavor texture just not for us . They kept asking how everything was and offered seconds on fruit cups . Our room and entire Mansion will carry you to a simpler not so busy time. We met locals who treated us like cousins and invited us to a Birthday Celebration on the lawn …. Such Fun ! They brought our drinks to the pool without our asking they were very attentive to all our needs and helped make our time easy and comfortable and fun .

Maybe another choice than grits . Maybe oatmeal,French toast Eggs Benedict or just second choice of something. Everything attested great that we had or tried .

Charming, historic Inn. The owners and staff members were courteous; a perfect example of Southern Charm. In the morning, after an excellent Southern breakfast, we were given a tour of the Inn. There were so many interesting stories that we learned when the history of the place was laid out.

Nothing really. Our room, “Uncle Henry’s” dated back to before the Civil War, yet had most of all the amenities we enjoy at a lodging. The only drawback was that there was a minimum of plug ins and our cell phones both needed to be charged. However, what can you expect in such an old place? I’m sure Uncle Henry got a laugh out of that.

It was a beautiful property. Rooms were impressive and adhered to the charm of the 1840’s when the inn was built. The entire property was a look into early southern charm and opulence. Staff was exceptional as was the bar and dining.

GPS doesn’t really know how to get you there without a circuitous route. No elevator or lift. Climbing up and down the stairs to carry belongings was the only problem. But an elevator would have been a distraction. Probably a valet would have been nice. Having a table fan available for those of us used to a ceiling fan would also have been nice.

The grounds are well kept and impressive. There are plenty of places to sit outside as well as the pool area. The home has been restored to glory. There is a bar on site, and the bartenders are wonderful. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The chef was trialing apps, and they were delicious as well as the breakfast. I stayed in one of the suites, which is separate from the main home. Be aware of 3 flights of stairs to carry your things, I had no problems. You also get your own parking area. The room itself is spacious, comfy bed, and you can watch the sunset/sit on the porch to relax. You are only a 13 min walk to the downtown area. My pup and I had a great stay!

My only issue was that they missed spots of cleaning in the room (refrigerator, toliet/shower, and some floor areas). They also need bigger towels, I'm not that big, and i thought they were small.

We had the best stay and experience, one not to be forgotten. The food was beautiful, the staff couldn't be lovelier, in particular, Dawn. We had an amazing experience with other guests and staff for the Ghost Tour that was happening the night we stayed - Halloween. The Inn itself is a stunning building, and they have the rooms so beautifully presented. Highly recommend staying with them. Perfect layover for our trip from Memphis to New Orleans.

Amazing historic property, more interesting at every turn. Lovely pool area, great bar and breakfast area. Both bar and breakfast area were conducive to meeting fellow travelers from around the world. We had dinner there and it was very good. Take a drink up to the rooftop deck, great views!

There was a minor maintenance issue that we reported and I'm sure will be fixed.

The facility is beautiful and still retains the feeling of a private home. Our room was perfect: close to my car, close to the main house. The room was comfortable in the way visiting a friend's room would be. The staff from receptionist to barkeep, to cook simply do excellent work.

Wish it were closer to home so I could treat myself for their special dinners.....

Such a beautiful home! Eighth time we’ve stayed there this year. We feel like it is our home away from home! The restaurant food is to die for! There were people eating at the restaurant that weren’t even staying at the house. Not only do the staff go out of their way for us, but they make our dog happy also!

2 flights of stairs to get to our room, but it’s worth it!

This was a great property located in historic Vicksburg MS. The check in was easy, and Amy was wonderful and helpful. We had drinks in the lounge with Anthony and I did not get the female server’s name. They were very nice and we enjoyed their conversation. Room was wonderful clean and well equipped. Grounds were immaculately groomed. Great breakfast too. Great value. We will return if our travels take us to Vicksburg again.
