Termas de Papallacta is a magnificient place - I've visited various times. The pools are very well maintained, the flowers are beautiful, and the view is just spectacular. I had a room with a fireplace, which certainly adds to the atmosphere in the evening. The staff is really helpful and friendly, and the food is also very good (I recommend the onion soup). Also, the breakfast buffet has a great variety of choices. If you have time, do the "self-guided" hike - it's easy but worth it.

Nothing really ... I had asked for help in lighting the fireplace, but when no-one showed up, I tried myself, and was proud that I managed.

The infrastructure, the termal bath, the room, the breakfast, the staff at the restaurant and breakfast, deserve 10 points

the check in is time consuming, not enough staff, but what bothers most again and again in Ecuador, also this hotel try to charge the IVA to short term foreign tourists, it is a stressfull and not honest way of trying to transfer the booking.com 15% charge to the hotels to the tourist clients by trying to charge 15% IVA. Short term tourist are excempt of paying 15% IVA, be honest and do honest business. It is so frustrating and stressfull to deal with this dishonest attitude! For this stressful attitude I give you deserve only 1 point. For all the foreign tourist fight for this wrong attitude! I finally did not pay the 15% IVA.

Amazingly relaxing place to stay as a getaway from the city. Warm and cozy rooms and hot springs will melt your worries away. The breakfast and dinner were wonderful and the staff were some of the friendliest and most kind of anywhere we've stayed before.

The spa was extremely busy and did not feel much like the relaxing oasis that we imagined. It was challenging to walk through the doors due to all of the people there. Perhaps a different waiting area for people using the spa and waiting for a massage would be useful.

It was a beautiful spot, and the thermal pools right in front of our room were great! The food was delicious too. We had a relaxing time, and our kids enjoyed it too.

We had to do laundry- about one load. They had us tally each item- which was fine- but they didn't give us a warning about the price. When I went to pick up the laundry, it was $150- pretty outrageous when you can get the same amount done at a laundromat for around $10. I would have expected some kind of warning on the price- we would have figured something else out.

Lovely facility - dozens of thermal pools, many right outside your room. Beautiful grounds in a great setting with a nice (and very popular - be sure to reserve in advance) spa. The restaurant is good with a wide selection on the menu and good portion sizes. We had a group of 4 couples, stayed for 2 nights, enjoyed the spa pools and treatments, took the hike through the nearby countryside and even a walk into town.

The rooms surround a number of thermal pools which are nice to lounge in - but are also a magnet for the late-night louder crowd which made sleeping difficult. Some more blankets in the rooms would also be nice as the mountain location can get chilly.

the private pools in front of hotel rooms were so special. The grounds were gorgeous and that it's at the front of a national park is incredible. Had rare sighting of volcano from my room. recommend eating at the pool house restaurant. Loved the working fireplaces at night.

the billing is confusing. says "breakfast included" but got billed on the backend for many things of "service" including breakfast. but maybe thats how they do it here. at first, they booked me in a room far from everything but next to construction. I complained and got an upgrade. staff is responsive. Liked Milka who gave me a massage. The other girl who did my "chocolate wrap" as non-communicative and grumpy. I think I would have gotten the clay mud wrap instead and waited for Milka to do it. my skin still totally dry after the chocolate wrap.

This was not my first visit to Termas de Papallacta, and the fact that I keep on coming back already shows that I really like the place. The setting is majestic, no matter whether the sun is shining or whether clouds are covering the mountains and I want to highlight the friendliness of the staff. We had a room with a fireplace, which I highly recommend. It is just lovely to sit in the fireplace room after dinner and/or having visited the pools. The hotel and the pool areas are well maintained. The hot water pools are the highlight, of course, but going for a walk is also recommended (the 'Sendero de la Isla' is an easy walk and certainly worthwhile). The dinner was really excellent, and the choices at breakfast are also very good. The WiFi worked really well. Use sun protection even if it's cloudy! I didn't, and I regretted it. :)

The property is beautiful. Staff is friendly. Food is great. There are lots of activities around. Hiking is amazing.

The shared table on the balcony. When you book the superior room the table is in front. Depending on your neighbors this can be good or bad. Mine parked themselves and their two loud kids there most of the days I was there with no regard for anyone else. Don’t be that person

I love that when you book with BOOKING.COM the amazing breakfast buffet is included! We also always appreciate the EARLY CHECK IN OPTION with access to the Balneario. The staff is always friendly, attentive and helpful.

Water in the pools could have been warmer since it was such a cold day-night. Once we reported it to someone passing by it was immediately taken care of, but it's uncomfortable to leave the pools in the cold to find someone to increase the temperature.

We loved this place with an Cosy Alpine theme. The rooms were a great size, comfy beds and heated tile floors. Beautiful natural hot pools right outside your room which are open 24 hours to enjoy. Lots of privacy in nooks while sitting in the pools. We really enjoyed the food in the Restaurant and they were accommodating with gluten free options. Menu marked with allergens. We had fabulous massages in their spa too! Staff were pleasant and location in the valley was very unique. Would recommend if you are staying in Quito to visit this place fir a nature immersion. We enjoyed the open fire in the bar!
