Felt like I stepped back in time staying in a historic home. The room was clean and had everything needed for a day or a week stay. The staff went above and beyond. The pub and food was excellent. Thanks Again! See you all in the Spring! Aloha!

Everything was wonderful. Under new management so disregard previous negative reviews. They are renovating and improving. Honestly, it was an amazing experience. Highly recommend.

The proprietor has recently taken over the hotel & is renovating the property, but the hotel was perfect for our stay. The hotel was quiet, clean & very friendly, courteous staff. The bed was very comfortable, the room was very quiet & a comfortable temperature with more than adequate supplies for tea & coffee. A lovely “ Scottish “ breakfast was very welcome in the morning, along with a really good supply of lovely coffee. We will certainly be visiting this hotel again on our return visits.

The proprietor is in the midst of renovation, hence not every thing had been turned around yet. The room could do with a refresh, but this I’m sure will be addressed soon.

Great value for money, an older hotel but very comfortable. iI was more than happy with my room and bathroom. Location was within driving distance to a number of towns in area. Great breakfast with a cosy brreakfast room. A great bar and home cooked meals for dinner, , have been away from home for 51 days and can honestly say I had the best meal of my trip ..Home made meat balls and pasta. The host Amanda was fantastic with a great fun personality, a real pleasure to talk to. I would stay there again on next visit if in the area. If you expect 5 star this isn't for you but if you do you will get 5 star service and laughs.

Wow, such a superb location. Comfy beds, immaculately clean rooms. Previous reviews do not reflect the new management and they are and have been striving to improve things which is evident. Menu for food is not extensive and its continental breakfast with eggs which we found sufficient. Staff were absolutely brilliant, warm.and friendly I would deffo go again...our dog loved it too.

Great value for money, very welcoming and helpful staff, the room was very comfortable and we were even given cute dog beds for the doggies! And Kirkmichael is an adorable little village in the heart of nature.

The breakfast room was a little bit rudimentary, but the breakfast was good.

Slightly apprehensive about staying there given some of previous reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is under new management and it is clear the new team are getting a good grip and bringing the hotel and the service up to a very good standard.

Was a lovely stay and very welcoming staff. Lovely big family room which also was doggy friendly. The owner phoned to check the bed layout and managed to sperate the beds for us to allow 3 single beds as booking.com didn't give that option when booking. Food was tasty and breakfast was great. Its a little way out of the nearest town but we will try to find a reason to visit again. Super gin selection at the bar too 👌

We found in the room welcoming notes that a visit to the local cheese makers and gin makers could be arranged. If we had known about this when booking we probably would have asked for this to be arranged and stayed a little longer. This might be the reason we could visit again 😁

Some furnishings are a bit dated. This is reflected in the price, it is also typical of this style and era of hotel. Don’t let that put you off. Definitely a good place to stop for a night.

Stayed overnight while walking the Cateran trail. Lovely place, reasonably priced, very comfortable. Amanda is a wonderful host and made me feel very much at home!

Nice Hotel a little set back from Pitlochry with a wonderful scenic view. Excellent breakfast with a large selection of dishes, also for dinner there are several dishes to choose from. Really large family room with a double bed and an extra bed - plenty of space.

Unfortunately, some of the delightfull traditional Scottish dishes (steak pie, stew, haggis) have been replaced during COVID - that seems to be a concession to international tourists also. A hustle and bustle of the staff was constantly felt, but all the staff was extraordinarily friendly all the time.
