Our stay at the King Frederik Inn was one of the nicest stays I've had in a while. The staff were very friendly and available 24/7. The room was nice with plenty of room to move around. The king-size bed was very comfortable with plenty of blankets to keep warm. It was nice having a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. The pool was heated, so even though it was a little chilly out, we were still able to swim before heading to the hot tub, which was very relaxing before heading up to our room for the night. My favorite thing about this property was being able to drink and keep our water bottles filled right from the faucets. We usually have to keep buying water to drink at other hotels. I highly recommend this property when visiting Solvang.

The only thing I didn't like was that the shampoo in the shower was a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner combo, and I really need a conditioner after washing my hair. However, this would not detour me from staying here again.

The location was great. The desk was welcoming, the continental breakfast was good, the room was clean and easy to navigate.

It was a very noisy room - we could hear upstairs neighbors' conversations, footsteps, other activity (unidentifiable). The location is probably part of the "problem". The location is great for visiting Solvang. But that puts us near the street. It was not noisy overnight - quieted down after 11, which is really fine. We're just not late nighters. The shower was weak, not a lot of pressure or a good spray. I really prefer soap to liquid dispensers, although I'm sure they are easier for cleaning and less expensive to maintain.

We recently stayed at this lovely hotel and absolutely loved our experience! The layout of our room was fantastic, providing plenty of space and comfort. One of the highlights was having direct access to the pool right from our patio door it made for a truly enjoyable and relaxing stay. Additionally, the complimentary danishes and drinks were a delightful touch that added to our overall experience. It was such a nice way to start the day! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with convenient amenities. We can’t wait to return!

Super cute hotel, in a great location with everything in walking distance. We were lucky to get the last parking spot in the lot and from there on we walked everywhere. Lots of restaurants and bakeries nearby and there’s a liquor store across the street. The room was a decent size and the pool was also great for the kids.

Cons: The beds were full size which is pretty tight for two adults. Also, the pool closed at 9 PM which seemed really early considering the sun went down at 8:30. We learned later that Mondays and Tuesdays are when most places in Solving close early. Bring snacks or things you need because everything in town is pretty pricey.

Located on the main street in Solvang, easy to get to, and across from the parking lot is the town's Visitor Center! You can easily walk to every place in Solvang. Even though it was on Copenhagen Drive, we never heard road noise at night or inside our room! We will definitely stay here next time! And the staff was very warm and friendly. Kind of felt like my extended family!

We chose a balcony room, but the sun was so bright in the afternoon we didn't sit out there. A balcony would be great for evening or morning times, though.

The location of the King Frederik Inn cannot be beat. How lovely to be so close to a park and a trolley stop! And all the check-in staff were helpful and accommodating. We felt completely safe and at ease on this property. It is a good value. Having said that, there are areas that perhaps are a little worn but everything is clean and we had no trouble sleeping through the night. We noticed that there was a boisterous and happy senior cycling club on the premises, and that was fun to observe. The pool is well cared for, although we did not use it.

It could use some updating

Fantastic location, super clean room, comfy bed, and plenty of pillows. It was also great to have a microwave & fridge (with freezer) in the room. A bonus was a white noise machine, which we put to use since our room was directly next to the office/breakfast room & in front of the pool. It worked great!

The room only needed 2 things to be absolutely perfect, another place to plug in devices (the single end table had plenty of options but was a bit small for 2 people with IPads & phones) and a comfy chair to sit in (aside from the desk type chairs provided).

Perfect location with big parking. Nice, big and clean rooms.

Very dissapointing breakfast. More like a snack, not a breakfast for an adult. We really hoped that they did what they promised in June 2023... Hotel answer about poor breakfast from June 2023: ˝We apologize for any disappointment caused by the breakfast options provided during your stay. We understand that having a variety of choices, including eggs, is important to our guests, and we regret that we did not meet your expectations in this regard. Please be assured that we take your comments seriously and we will review our breakfast offerings to ensure that we provide a more satisfying experience in the future.˝

The staff was super friendly and the rooms were comfortable, no carpet so that is a plus. The fact that they have a white noise machine and every room is definitely a good thing. The pastries for morning breakfast are amazing!

The walls and the ceilings are definitely thin. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't understand that their noise travels quite well between the walls. So I would say that if you are a very light sleeper, this might not be the place for you, even though as I mentioned above they have white noise machines and they do provide ear plugs at the front desk. The only other negative that I would have to remark about is that there are no hooks or rods in the bathroom for drying towels, other than the original wall mounted one above the toilet where all of the towels start. You cannot hang a washcloth to dry.

Liked the location. Everything was within walking distance. Didn't have to drive to get to restaurants or shops which was convenient so didn't need to hassle with finding parking or driving through heavy pedestrian traffic. Room included fridge, microwave & coffee pot. Water filtration system in place to allow you to drink tap water safely.
