The rooms

Pool was small and shallow , jacuzzi not working. Noisy young group of about 10 were playing techno music on the balcony of the atria and shouting across to each others balconies - needs more management control and guests given guidance on acceptable noise levels and disturbing other guests with inconsiderate behaviors especially when there are large young groups staying

Room very clean and comfortable with a king size bed. Love the balcony overlooking the atrium. Location amazing very central to all the shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel breakfast best I’ve had.The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, as were the cleaning and bar staff. We preferred the room being serviced every three days as opposed to daily. Also if you wanted something in between these times you can ask for it and it was always quickly delivered to the room.

The hotel has been upgraded to the frontage and looks very smart. However I think it is time for the atrium and the back entrance of the hotel and car park to have a lick of paint, if you are arriving by car and parking in the car park your first impression of the hotel is not good. It looks dirty and uninviting. Which is a pity because the front facade looks very clean and smart. Another priority should be new carpets both in the bedrooms and the stairs and communal areas. They are all really shabby now.

Staff at breakfast and reception were exceptional. Very quiet rooms

Swimming pool ladies changing smelt badly and put me off. The swimming pool was tiny and the sloping edges meant kids slide towards the deep central area. Deep part too narrow. Not for swimming in. It was disappointing because that is why we chose the hotel. Room sofas need replaced. They were very uncomfortable as they sloped downwards at the front. We had two rooms and this was similar in each room. The balcony bucket chairs were also pretty worn in the middles

The location with the little 'lounge' in the bay window overlooking the sea. Large room. Comfy bed. Lovely, traditional building. Accessible with plenty of lifts. Pool etcetera, but didn't have time to use them. Breakfast...excellent choice, well cooked, good time slot. Staff...ALL VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.

Decoration a little bit jaded. Car park tiny with some spaces not easy to access. Norman Wisdom bar not to our taste. Shower not very strong. Bathroom boiling and couldn't turn the heated towel rail down.

excellent breakfast choices. comfortable room. lovely balcony overlooking the atrium. Very helpful & friendly staff.

only 30 car park spaces for such a large hotel. only 2 disabled spaces? no parking discs available in reception, as stated in welcome book in our room. Could do with some updating as the furniture a little tired. the chairs on our balcony & the sofa in our room. but believe they're in the middle of renovating. being very picky here, Room service only from 10.30pm with a very limited menu. would also recommend some ice machines so ice is available.

Loved the hotel, staff extremely helpful and friendly. Room large, beverages plentiful and beds seating comfortable with nearly everything for the physically disabled breakfast choice excellent and good quality.

Having to pay for car parking for multiple days at the risk of not being able to get a space. only 20 spaces for a large hotel. Bathroom floor very slippery as water went everywhere from walking shower and did not drain quickly, reported twice and on the second occasion I slipped and managed to save myself on the hall floor as could not open door properly after putting mats down so still very wet. No red cord in bathroom. Didn't like the fact a waitress was using a napkin to brush crumbs from the table onto the floor - a small steel dustpan and brush/knife would be much more acceptable and get trodden in the carpet.

Lovely hotel. Use of the pool, very friendly and helpful staff (particular mention to Margaret[?] Scottish lady on reception). Hotel was in a great spot for exploring Douglas and close to plenty eating and drinking places.

Room was big enough and clean but some damage to bathroom tiles and wardrobe door. Also, although we chose a cheap option, you would expect to be able to see out of the windows and not have frosted glass. Would prefer a bad view than not being able to see anything at all.

excellent location near to shops /bus stops with a fantastic view of the bay the breakfast was superb with plenty of options catering to all diets our room was spacious the bed was very comfortable plenty of storage space and seating a good range of drinks available on room tray it was great to find milk in room fridge bathroom was roomy and it was nice to have both bath and shower the later being very easy to use the in-house restaurant was fantastic and very good value and catered for all diets we only used the pool facility which was nice we found the atrium very pleasant and very well maintained we would definitely recommend staying at the Sefton and would use the hotel if visiting the island again

some of the room furniture needed a little TLC as did some of the shower grouting it would be helpful to include that the pool does not have walk in access in the information folder

The hotel is located right opposite the beach and within walking distance to the town centre. My husband and I booked to stay as we were over for a family wedding.. Unfortunately our flight from London was cancelled so we arrived a day later than planned.. Called the hotel to explain as we had concerns that our reservation may have been cancelled when we didn't arrive. Wasn't a problem and when we arrived we were met by a lovely lady who checked us in.. Lovely sized room with everything we needed for our stay.. Good sized bathroom with lovely clean soft towels. We didn't have a Seaview room which wasn't an issue as we didn't pay to sit in our room to admire the view. Breakfast was good with cooked and continental as options. We paid for room only so paid for breakfast but was well worth the money and the view from the window was amazing We did ask a lady on reception if we could have a look at the swimming pool and she kindly gave us a key card and explained that the card was single use and if we wanted to use the pool later we'd need a new card,as we were busy meeting with family we never got around to using the pool but did notice a sign to say the maximum amount of people in the pool at any given time was 6 people. Lovely comfy bed and was lovely waking up on Sunday morning to hear the church bells ringing. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again good value for money, excellent location and friendly staff

The lift was a bit slow and seemed to stop at every floor despite being empty when it reached our floor. Maybe someone playing games and pressing all the buttons for each floor

I stayed for couple of nights and took my mum for a treat for 1 night ...the staff on reception were really nice ,helpful, accommodating and nothing was too much for them ..... breakfast was nice and plenty of choice both hot and cold food ! the rooms were really spacious and the beds comfortable! The lift access was good for my mum who's not great on her feet ! ... I went to the swimming pool but it was a bit chilly and so were the changing room so didn't stay for long...! There is a small library which was a nice touch and the arboterium bedroom we had was lovely and overlooked the fish pond, and it is surrounded by lots of exotic plants which was a delight....I'm a well travelled person and stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years but the hotel is reasonable and adequate ! well done Sefton Hotel ..we have booked after the New Year ..
