abby on reception, super, kind, and friendly, a big asset to the hotel, bar area beautiful, staff could be better trained, and bit quicker to take orders and get them out to table........... room lovely and well appointed........lifts bit hit and miss, work needed here...............brekky calm and well organised.........well done , others please copy............

car park very full to overflowing. would like room service, small menu would be fine.....but covid is over.........time to restore this treat in fine big hotel.............

The staff were amazing especially Sylvia on reception who offered to come and get us when we had car problems and didn't think we would make it in our car. We arrived after 7 hours getting from dublin to wexford to the warmest and kindest welcome from Sylvia. We had to pay and stay for an extra night as my car had to get towed on sat and we had noway to get home until we could organise a rental car for this morning and another lady at reception ( sorry I never caught her name) was so lovely yesterday and today ( monday) helping us. Staff members are a huge credit to the hotel.

Beds too soft

We are frequent visitors to Ireland using the Fishguard - Rosslaire Ferry. This is the second time we have stayed in the hotel before we travel to on Galway to visit our son and family.The sign posting to the hotel was clear and hotel easy to find and car parks adjacent to it. The hotel's reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The festive decorations and whole Christmas ambience impressive throughout all of the public guest areas. Every member of the hotel staff we encountered always had a smile and friendly acknowledgement. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortably furnished. We had an excellent breakfast and the dinner during our stay. The choice of menu was excellent and the quality of food superb. The front of house staff were very pleasant and efficient. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others and will definitely return on further visits to Ireland.

We had difficulty in finding a car parking space in both of the hotel's car parks, most probably because of the many Christmas parties taking place in the hotel that evening. We didn't encounter this during our summer visit. There was a very pleasant lounge area between the reception and restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel but nowhere to order pre- dinner drinks which meant a long walk from the bar across the busy reception area. The temperature in bedroom room was very warm

Room was comfortable and clean, pool and steam room were refreshing and not crowded. Amazing location to go out around 5 minutes walk to Crown Quarter and Night clubs, plenty of live music and range of pubs in the area. Loved the live music in the hotel bar on the Saturday night. Busy with a good atmosphere, but as with the pool and gym didn't have a crowded feeling. We were well looked after and enjoyed the time there. Well worth the price

We didn't have the appropriate footwear for walking around the pool, and both of us slipped 😅 Other than that was a fantastic time, and even that was still funny

This is the second time i have stayed in the Talbot hotel. The beds were the best I have stayed in whilst I have been travelling around the country and staying in various hotels North and South . I liked being in walking distance of the lovely shops and cafes in Wexford Town and having a window room of the sea. I liked the Ballast bar meals, drinks and the staff there and also the domestic staff were more cheerier , friendly than front line staff (recep desk)

reception staff were not what you expected at an Irish hotel , looked disgruntled, i felt sorry for foreign visitors noticing this

The hotel bedroom was very spacious, very clean. And I loved the fact the windows were open so the room wasn't stuffy. The breakfast room was very airy too which I loved. All the staff were very pleasent and so were all the people who stayed there. I thought the gym was excellent. Very large and plenty of equipment. Their breakfast was delicious too. Also they give you a stamp on a card so you can park in the car park for free.

The lift was really my only gripe. It's very small for a big hotel. A lot of people staying there did not know how to use the card and press the lift button to go to their floor. We encountered a couple who were up and down 3 times trying to get to their floor. Despite this, would I return. Most definitely. Overall a fantastic experience.

The staff are unbelieveable, didn't meet one person that wasn't super pleasant and helpful. Reservations phoned me twice before my arrival just to make sure that the rooms (I was booking 3) were to my satisfaction. Special mention to Rachel and Robert in the bar who went above and beyond for us, they were so helpful. Breakfast was a big hit with our group, especially the pancake machine for the younger members of our family. The food in the bar and restaurant were both fantastic, we really enjoyed our meals here. Brilliant location, so handy for a stroll through the town or along the water.

It was quite noisy at night, even though our room overlooked buildings. The bin in our room hadn't been emptied from the previous occupants when we arrived. It was quite pricey for such small bedrooms. The pool was quite small and busy with a class which made it even smaller. The jacuzzi beds didn't work

I found the Talbot hotel to be a very comfortable and clean hotel. The staff were all very professional and approachable. The breakfast was very nice with a good selection of contintental and cooked food. It was fully self service and I would have prefered to have it served up. The room was very comfortable and spacious with a really good en suite. We had dinner one evening and the food was very good and reasonably priced.

My only complaint was the self service breakfast. I would have prefered to have it served up.

My stay at the Talbot Hotel was an absolute dream. The room offered amazing views of the Irish Sea, making every moment special. Waking up to the sunrise over the sea and enjoying my morning coffee at the table with the sea view was like a dream come true. The calming sea view was one of the highlights of my stay, and I would return to this hotel just for the room and its stunning view. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The room service food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. The front desk staff went above and beyond to assist me, whether it was accommodating a late check-out or booking a taxi. The hotel's seating areas are comfortable and luxurious, adding to the overall relaxing atmosphere. The swimming pool is great, the bed was large and comfortable, and the shower had amazing pressure. Overall, it was a very lovely stay, and I absolutely loved every moment. I look forward to staying at the Talbot Hotel again in the future. The sea view made it feel like a dream hotel room, and I would return to Wexford just to experience this wonderful hotel again.

Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like about my stay. Everything was perfect and delightful. My only regret is that I booked for just two nights - I wish I could have stayed longer. It would have been even better if there was a small fridge in the room, which would make longer stays even more convenient.

The Talbot is an exceptional hotel in a great location, and great value for money. The view is outstanding; you should definitely spring for a room overlooking the Irish Sea. Meals are great there, too. The continental breakfast buffet was good, with a decent assortment of cereals, pastries, and the like. We also ate dinner in one of the hotel's facilities, the Ballast Tank Bar. It was excellent; I recommend the chicken curry. They have great drinks and desserts, too. Great shower, too. The neighborhood is great for strolling about, with great views of the harbor. Parking is immediately across the street, but in full view of the hotel, and was complimentary. If I make it back to Wexford, I'll be sure to stay again.

The rooms aren't air-conditioned. The front desk was able to provide us with a fan, which helped a bit. An open window helped, too, but there's some road noise there, so sensitive sleepers in summer should make sure to grab a fan promptly.
