Breakfast was really nice the banana pancakes were great. You order from a menu which has traditional foods and then pancakes so we opted for banana pancakes each day and loved them. You also get to choose a drink too which we had tea & milk. Location was great, there is a couple restaurants down the road which are really good if you walk left from the homestay. Quiet location no noise in the evenings. Rented a scooter directly from the homestay. Staff are so friendly, provided us with water for our onwards journey. Room has a fridge and provided with water which was great.

Our toilet bin wasn’t emptied for 3 days when the room was cleaned. Our towels were changed but not the bin which isn’t very nice. My pillow case had stains all over it, as if it hasn’t been washed as i picked one bit of dirt off. When we went downstairs there was no one there to change it luckily i had my own pillow case in my bag to swap it with, but i’m sure if there was someone they would’ve swapped it immediately. The sheet had black stains over it as well and hairs stuck to the bedroom walls. Whenever we went downstairs there was never anyone there, their son took our breakfast order each morning but we don’t think he was working as he was on the sofa playing games on his phone so maybe having someone a bit more present would be great.

We have been traveling for a year and a months in Asia and this is one of the best hotel experiences we had. The owners are so caring, friendly, and helpful. They have free rental motorbikes and pedal bikes and provide free breakfast. We were able to check in at 6am due to an early bus and helped us order another bus with a free ride down town. When we said we would bike to a farm, the owner quickly pumped air into one of the bikes! The room was spacious with a fridge and TV, and the bonus was that they owned a cute puppy that was friendly and adorable. 5/5 recommend this place over every other spot in Phong Nha!

The manager of this homestay is so kind that she came at 3am to pick us up from the place where the bus dropped us. She gave us a room with two beds so that we could rest and get fresh as our check in time was at 12pm. She didn't charge for it.❤️🙏🙌 Loved her behavior and smile. Each and every person from this homestay is so well behaved,they are always smiling and greeting. Now about the view.... The most scenic and relaxing view you will ever have if you get the chance to visit Phong nha. They have sitting arrangements to chill and eat food with the view. ❤️‍🔥10/10 We booked the deluxe room with river view. The room was spacious,bed was comfy clean and washroom had all the necessary amenities. 10/10 it has big window from that you can enjoy the view and the sweet breeze will make your stay more comfortable. They also arranges tours to the caves and botanical garden. We booked our bus tickets of da nang from them. I loved the service and everything. 🫰🫰🫰🫰❤️❤️❤️❤️

From the moment we booked, service was great, we received information and support to all questions we had for planning our trip to this location. We took the night bus from Hanoi and arrived to Phong Nha at 04:00 in the morning, we were told by Son Doong Riverside to call as soon as we got there and they would pick us up by car, they did so on time and free of charge. The ladies on the reception are very nice and polite, and specially very proactive for providing information and helping with any question. They helped us book our tours in Phong Nha as well as to book our bus to travel next days to Hué - bus picked us up from the door of the hotel. The room itself was great, the size is good with much space, big windows and well equiped. Room and bathroom very clean and tidy. The breakfast is very good, we were asked to choose the options for meal and beverages from the menu, we liked it very much. When leaving we were provided with some snacks and water for our bus trip for free, which felt like a nice gesture. We felt very comfortable, the hotel itself as well as the atmosphere is very nice and caring. We would definitely come back and totally recommend it. Many thanks for the service.

We had a great stay at Son Doong Riverside. The room was very clean, spacious and well-equipped. There are around 10 different breakfast options and the food is very good. The family that runs the hotel was extremely kind and caring. We arrived to Phong Nha at 5am and the family picked us up from the bus for free. We were able to check into our room immediately (i.e. very early check-in) and get some rest after the bus ride. We rented a scooter from the homestay and got a flat tire on the way to the caves. Within 15min they were there with a replacement scooter and also moved the full thank of petrol which we had just filled up to the new scooter. On our departure, which was a really hot day, they gave us a fresh bottle of cold water for free for our way.

This was an amazing place to stay. The location was perfect. Situated on the outskirts of the town on the riverside, it is perfect for visits to the all the local caves! The hosts were so informative and friendly, we were immediately made to feel at home and were offered pick up from the bus and drop off when we were leaving! The hotel itself was great value for money and had spacious rooms with a great view. The breakfast, especially the banana pancakes were perfect! Despite checking out earlier in the day, we were still able to hire a motorbike and leave our bags at the hotel all day, when we returned, we were given water and Oreos for our bus journey onwards! Amazing! Can’t recommend this place enough!

Our only small complaint would be the shower which was a little weak, but other than that nothing!

Small hotel kept by a friendly family. The rooms were nice and clean with hot showers. They organized us a taxi to pick us up from the train station, they booked us a nice big bus to Hue and dropped us for free at the bus stop. They also organize trips to the caves. We went with them to Paradise cave and it was actually the husband who drove us in his confortable car.

One room had a problem with the lock so we had to switch to another room, which was not a big inconvenience as we noticed it from the start and we got a nicer room (the first one had no window). It was cold and rainy outside, so the rooms felt cold and damp too. The drying system of the airco helped a bit, but it would have been nice to have a heater in the room (the airco only dried or cooled).

Very pleased with our stay at the Son Doong Riverside. The place was immaculately clean, in both the rooms and common areas. They have a fantastic breakfast area on the riverside. Banana pancakes were great. They were very helpful at arranging tours (although it seemed that all the places used the same tour group). We saw Paradise, Phong Nha Cave and the Botanical Gardens in one day. They arranged airport taxis for us. Perhaps a km or so walk to town. People that we spoke with from other homestays didn't seem to be as happy with their choice as we were with the Son Doong. I would strongly recommend this place to any friend or family member planning to visit Phong Nha. They work hard to provide a great guest experience and it shows.

Really can't think of anything to complain about.

This is a very nice place to stay. The room is very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is really good (we can highly recommend the bannana pancakes!). The staff really does everything to make you feel welcome. We got a breakfast to-go, even though we had to leave at 5:30 am. Motorbikes can be rented for 150k/day. We got fresh towels and water every day. Overall, an incredible service for the price.

There is a little bit of mold in a corner of the room. There is no whirlpool-bathtub, as the description of the room says.

We got in Phong Nha very early by nightbus (4 a.m.) and they told us to call them so they would pick us up at the bus stop. We where able to spend the rest of the night in our room free of charge, because we only booked the following night. They arranged a tour for us for the same day to the paradise cave and the dark cave which was fun! (the botanical gardens and rescue center that comes with the tour is not really worth your time, but it is a package deal.) They also booked us a bus to Hue, which picked us up at the hotel. So we where very happy with this homestay because they made our trip to Phong Nha very easy and relaxing!

It is a bit far away from the city center, but there are a few restaurants nearby, so if you are staying for a short trip, you don't need to go to the center anyways.
