The location of this property can not be beaten. It close to everything but just far enough where you don’t get all the crowds & noise at night. The rooms are spacious & very comfy beds with lots of spaces to hand clothes & unpack. We loved the family suite consisting of a large bedroom with 2 double beds & a lovely lounge area. Perfect for a family of 4. The staff are so lovely & helpful. Unfortunately we had to leave our vacation early due to family emergency so we didn’t get to enjoy our full booking.

The rooms need updating & look run down. But the upside is they are large & we only stayed there to sleep & shower. If you want somewhere modern & slick this is not the hotel for you.

Location was perfect. 57th street subway less than a minutes walk away which went to most places. Less than a 10 min walk to Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller…perfect. We had a 1 bed suite which was perfect for our family. Bathroom was spacious and had a separate living area with a door that closed so you could sit in different rooms

There wasn’t much to say. I know the deal is a bit difficult to contact via telephone but just keep trying

- location was excellent - close to everything that a tourist would want - spacious rooms - stayed with our 2 kids and plenty of room for all - grateful for kettle and fridge - being able to re-fill water bottles from a cooler

- stone-faced female receptionist, same on all days, not helpful, looked like everything was a pain for her - not told about water cooler on 2nd floor - found out from other reviews - 4 of us booked in but only 2 towels, 2 mugs, 2 teaspoons, plates etc in the room. Also no kettle. Took us 2 requests and 5 hrs of waiting to get those. - 1 little sachet of shampoo and shower gel for 4 people for 4 days! - bath plug wasn't working so couldn't take a bath - everything is old and tired and scratched

Unfortunately in our second night we got mice in our room around 2 am so I went down to the lobby looking for someone to help. The guy who was there brought upstairs to our room a mouse trap. Unfortunately an hour later the mice kept roaming around so the very next day I spoke to another guy and he promised me to resolve the issue immediately. Luckily after that night no mice but we weren't comfortable despite having mouse traps. I will give it 3 out 5 just because of this. My wife and 5 years old son weren't impressed.

The facilities need a face lift. Our room was good but there was a major leak in the ceiling in the bathroom. There are a few items in the kitchenette but not many and everything just looked rough.

Okay so I read all the negative reviews in horror after booking so if you are doing the same thing right now…fear not! The price and room size was unbeatable. I found the lobby charming and the staff were super friendly. Our room was comfortable, clean and huge( we stayed in the king suite). We had no issues with hot water or WI-FI, both elevators were working and the room temp was easily controlled. If you have read old negative reviews regarding a cleaning fee…. this fee no longer exists! We only stayed one night so it suited our needs perfectly!! I would recommend to anyone coming to NYC!

When our door was locked… you could wiggle it slightly back and forth…it didn’t feel super secure. Because I watch way too much true crime, we moved a piece of furniture in front of the door for peace of mind. This honestly wouldn’t deter me from staying here in the future and probably would be easily fixed by maintenance. No breakfast/meals offered which wasn’t a big deal for us but if we were staying there longer than one night it would have been nice to have!

We wanted a suite, where you can have a small living to relax, instead of on the bed. Although Blakely is not modern, it has all what you need in your holiday at New York, mainly: - Great size comfortable beds - Location is great! 150m you have the metro. You are in walking distance from Times Square and other attractions - Small kitchenette, with microwave. If food is too much, take a doggy bag with you, and heat it up the next day.

The rooms are not soundproof in the evenings. You can hear all the traffic and sirenes.

My reservation was for a suite with a sofa and 2 Queen beds but we did not have a sofa. We also did not have a coffee maker which was also stated in the reservation.

The Blakely has a vintage charm and can be endearing in its old world feel for those who appreciate that! I was given a great room that I had requested to be on a high floor in the back of the building. Prior to staying, I did have concerns about reviews stating there was a towel shortage, issue with lack of mini-kitchen items, etc. In exchange for the vintage charm and great rate (I prepaid and received a really great rate for NYC given the location)...I was willing to put up with any linens issue. I found it easy to get linens from the cart on each floor if needed, even if I had to go to another floor + I brought a few of my own and I always travel with my own ceramic cups :). The room was quiet, warm and spacious, bed perfectly comfortable with decent closet space, fast wifi, safe worked, hot water/pressure fine and pretty noble marble in the bathroom so on. Some of the furnishings are a little creaky, the knob on the bathtub faucet was falling off, etc. but for my great rate and central location, it's just part of the value and quirky charm. p.s. I had no issues with my credit card being abused or deposit funds returned.

They do need to fix the linens issue with providing the larger bath towels.

We didn’t spend much time in the room, too much to see and do. BUT the location was AMAZING!!!! Such a close walk to Time Square, Central Park, Radio City Music Hall, etc!! John the bellman was just as amazing!! Rooms were very spacious, comfy beds, mirrors everywhere in bathroom, microwave and mini fridge, good view for the location. I honestly was sketched out booking through booking.com and after reading some reviews I was nervous but we had an amazing time and would most definitely come back!! If you plan to go ABSOLUTELY request tickets to The Tonight Show w Jimmy Fallon, we ended up 3rd row and was shown on national television multiple times

There’s a homeless drug corner about 400 ft to the left of leaving the hotel, never had a problem with it but it’s definitely there. Our A/C also quit working but they gave us a fan and showed us how to crack the windows. No toiletries which was fine because we planned ahead
