Bed 10/10 for comfort, shower 10/10 (the most powerful you could ask for), parking and staff attentiveness 10/10 and the breakfast, WOW 11/10 super gourmet coffee (not the cheap bottled stuff), amazing choice (I had the haloumi and avocado with fried egg on sourdough bread) and proper orange juice (Tropicana) served from a cold iced metal base. I didn't have time to explore the grounds or vicinity but it looks immaculately presented. Do not hesitate to book with the lovely Vanessa and Paul who are extremely sociable, knowledgeable about the area and always at hand to assist with any queries.

Minor and being picky but the button flush mechanism in my accommodation (Aspen) was very stiff and might be an issue of you have arthritic hands.

The Foxes Den is in a rural location on a main road outside Assington. It's wonderfully peaceful even though the road is well used. There is plenty of space to sit outside and an early riser can take full advantage of an uninterrupted dawn chorus. The hosts are friendly but not intrusive and the continental breakfast in the conservatory is a great way to start the day. Would definitely recommend.

The only thing l can think to change is the length of time the extractor fan in the bathroom runs. This is such a small thing which didn't detract from an excellent experience.

The hosts were very welcoming. The room was exceptional. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The towels were soft and the bath was welcome after a days walking. It was nice to have a bath as well as a shower option in the large en suite. It is so quiet and peaceful i didnt want to leave. Breakfast both days was hot and plentiful. The hosts helped with suggestions to visit the local area. I would recommend anyone going to the Cafe even if they were not staying. I will be back and will book The Lodge with garden and hot tub. Don't miss this gem if you are in Suffolk. Well worth a visit.

The foxes den was a lovely relaxing stay. Very cosy room with ensuite and TV and coffee and tea making facilities and an outside patio area to chill out with a drink soaking up the sun. Lavenham is 15 minutes up the road to wonder around and have a walk about. The foxes den had breakfast included in the room price. Staff were so welcoming and the coffee house served fresh homemade cakes and biscuits. Would definitely recommend staying here at a bargain price. I will book the deluxe apartment with a hot tub next time. Thank you Vanessa and staff for a pleasant stay I will definitely be back x

We loved everything about the property. It was exactly as described. Steve & Vanessa are excellent hosts and the coffee shop is definitely not to be missed. We started our night away having lunch there before we got into our room. We loved the hot tub and spa bath and the fact that it was very private with gorgeous countryside views. If it happens to rain there is a canopy that can be pulled over the hot tub to keep you dry which is a handy addition. Breakfast was brought to our room and was excellent, piping hot and the best veggie breakfast I’ve ever had.

From before we arrived, I knew our stay was going to be wonderful. Vanessa messaged to confirm our arrival time and checked it on the day of arrival to ensure nothing had changed. We were travelling with my disabled father in law and Vanessa made the whole stay such an easy and stressless one. Nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond to ensure his comfort and his needs were met. Breakfasts were great and served in the conservatory. Steve and Vanessa are marvellous hosts and if we are ever over again they would be our first choice of where to stop, I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you Steve and Vanessa xx

What a wonderful stay at “The Foxes Den”! Extremely accommodating including special birthday requests, Vanessa was incredibly friendly, room was impeccable, clean and had everything you need and more. It also smelt incredible! Great recommendations including nice restaurants to eat a - we went to the ‘Crown Inn’ which served amazing food. The breakfast at the foxes den was delicious and delivered to enjoy in our room. Cafe was beautiful and clean, although we didn’t have time to enjoy dining in the cafe, I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to. 100% would stay here again and highly recommend staying here! Had a fantastic stay, everything was super clean, even the bedding and towels smelt lovely and fresh. The bed was very comfortable and slept the whole night, was lovely to get away from everyday hustle and bustle and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature with the added bonus of a hot tub just outside the door, they seem to have gone that little extra mile from the twinkling lights outside round the trees to the comfort of home inside, lovely couple and very friendly, breakfast was brought to our door in the morning and everything was delicious! I’d definitely recommend to anyone and definitely be back, I also want to try out there fantastic looking tea room and the delicious home made cakes :-)

There was nothing we didn’t like, if anything it’s a shame we didn’t book for 2 nights

Rooms are at the back of the property in a small annex with garden and outdoor seating area. It felt secure to leave our bicycles outside the room. Super friendly hosts, very welcoming to cyclists. Spotlessly clean. Quiet (some road noise in the morning). Very tasty and well presented breakfast. Overall an excellent place to stay with 2 pubs close by for evening meals.

The hot water could have been a little hotter. Would have liked a porridge/fruit/yoghurt offering at breakfast but having said that the breakfast we had was very good.

The location was very peaceful. The owners showed real passion for what they have and what they do. The room had everything I needed, clean, spacious, and well equipped to have an iron and ironing board is spot on, I travelled up on my motorbike so my clothes were all crumpled, and in need of ironing. The breakfast the next morning was delicious too, fresh and tasty. The whole place was stunning, and I will definitely book again next time staying in the area. Motorbike friendly too.
