Breakfast surpassed all others, the attention to the table detail was outstanding, the food, much of it purchased loally or produced by the proprietors, was superb. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Parking was easy and the location was right adjacent to the town and its facilities

I cannot add anything here, as a trained chef and restaurateur, I am familiar with the running of such establishments and, this could not have been better. Thoroughly recommended, I look forward to returning.

It was an excellent stay. I travelled for work and need somewhere to spend the night not to go back to Dublin and the hotel exceeded my expectations. Friendly owners, lovely room, quiet at night. In the morning I had breakfast in a luxurious Victorian dining room. Breakfast was pleasantly unusual as well, as I am not a big fan of the Irish breakfast (although that option was available as well should you want it). Overall, fantastic stay - I got back to my work commitments refreshed and in a good mood. Thanks a mil to the owners

The house was lovely, not modern but beautifully decorated in an older style (regency?) ... Everything we needed was provided (hairdryer etc). Most of all, we appreciated the walk-in shower and easy access, no stairs. We were made to feel very welcome and the breakfast was super. The location was great for exploring Portlaoise.

You could feel the electric blanket under the sheet - a bit rubbery, like a hospital bed. Euro 160 for the night was a bit of a stretch for us, but we have no regrets.

Breakfast was amazing. Home made breads and poached fruits are outstanding! I had the porridge which was creamy and rich. My partner had the full Irish with all locally sourced ingredients including eggs from very happy hens. A candlelit breakfast start to the day was a lovely special touch. Gerry and Dinah are splendid hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Their grandson, who helped, was a delight. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely stay again.

The interior decor and architecture of the building was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. I really appreciated the fact that the bread was homemade as was several items on the buffet. The food was sourced from local producers and it shows. Overall the ambience and the friendliness of the owners really made this stay an enjoyable experience. The room was nice and warm and the bed was very comfortable. BEST Sleep I've had in ages. Definitely staying in the Ivyleigh House next time I'm down that way. It is an almost 200 years old building so it has a special atmosphere what i liked. The host of the hotel is very nice person. Also the location of the property is very good, because it is close to main street with small shops and pubs and it is very close to rail station, what is very comfortable if you come to Portlaoise by train.

The towel rack on the bathroom door was broken, because it falls off as soon as you move it.

Fab stay in a historic town house. The owner greeted me in person and was very helpful throughout my stay. Fab regency style dining room choc full of beautiful antiques - breakfast was superb.

I enjoyed my stay, the location was perfect and I liked the old style atmosphere in the Guest House - a refreshing change to generic hotels.

Gerry and his lovely wife were excellent hosts. Also there is the lovely grandchild Oisin. A beautiful house so well presented, warm friendly beautiful central location. Breakfast was a dream, juice, fresh coffee, fresh fruit, yogurts, granola, home made breads, and vegetarian Irish breakfast 😋 This house home lacks nothing. A beautiful stay with warm welcoming hosts I personally would highly recommend a stay here. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The B & B was easy to find, we always use the post code on our GPS. The car park is directly beside the house with plenty of parking in the rear. It had good Wi-Fi. Our shower had the most water pressure that I have ever encountered. A wonderful Georgian town house. The breakfast was perfect.
