We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cradle Mountain Lodge. The cabin was lovely, clean, and spacious, with a real wood fireplace that added to its charm. The highlight, however, was the incredible wildlife - just walking from the cabin to the restaurant, we encountered so many animals! The trails starting from the lodge are easy and beautiful to explore, and the location, just a five-minute walk from the shuttle bus, is very convenient. The staff were lovely, and the night safari was a fun and memorable experience.
The lodge clearly capitalizes on its prime location at the park entrance, charging a disproportionately high price for the cabins. It was by far the most expensive accommodation we stayed at in Australia, even compared to 5-star hotels in Melbourne and Sydney. For such an astronomical price, we expected more generosity - complimentary tours, for instance, or a more sophisticated breakfast. The breakfast offered was very basic, with simple ingredients that didn’t match the premium cost, and limiting customers to one cup of cappuccino felt cheap. Despite the high price, I’d stay here again - the stunning nature and abundant wildlife make it a truly unique experience!

The location was amazing! The wildlife at your door is incredible - we saw an echidna and wombat within minutes of arriving. The local platypus was a bonus! The lodge is set up to create a wood cabin feel with big cozy leather lounges, fire places and games. You can have a coffee or hot chocolate while enjoying the atmosphere. The rooms were very comfortable, bed super big and cozy, spa bathtub fabulous for soaking tired muscles and the rooms provided crockery and cutlery if you had your own Tassie produce to eat which meant you don’t need to buy at the near by restaurants if you come prepared. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, although at peak times the team are really working hard to keep up! A little kindness and politeness and they are very happy to help you or get what you need. Bishal on the restaurant and tavern was an added bonus - smiling and welcoming on our arrival each time and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met! Lovely guy! All the team were lovely, he particularly stood out. We used the spa for a massage and a session at the sanctuary - the spa and sauna was both working and was AMAZING! Staying with such easy access to the national park and the beautiful local surrounds and wildlife is well worth the money. You are paying for the experience, the surrounds and a very cosy and comfortable stay with a highly suitable vibe and atmosphere that is exactly what you imagine a lodge to be.
Nothing! It was perfect!

The room was really nice and comfortable. The breakfast was really great. We booked the sanctuary in the spa which was fantastic. However we did ring back to find out the name of the the wine we purchased and the person who answered did not speak English very well and could not answer our question.
I had sent 3 emails requesting the menu for the Christmas dinner did not get a reply. Tried ringing no answer. Someone rang me to ask if i was booking in for dinner i said i needed a menu emailed to me. Still didn't happen. So you missed out on 3 people booking in for Christmas dinner. We were there in Nov and the tavern menu was much more comprehensive. It has changed but it needed some more options on it especially for snacky food. You also do not have any cakes etc to have with a coffee

The proximity to all activities in the park was excellent, and the grounds themselves were a good springboard for several walks of different skill and fitness requirements. The cabin - not room - was comfortable and delightfully warm when I arrived on a drizzly cold day; it was also very large and extremely private. Parking right outside your 'room' is a bonus. The breakfast provided was excellent, and the special dinner for Christmas was outstanding. Food in the tavern was also excellent.
No wifi in the cabins - and no TV if you are into that. While some cabins are close to the main lodge I was about as far as you could get and with a dodgy knee the paths downhill in the wet and uphill afterwards were a challenge; I had to make conscious choices to drive back to the main lodge or be prepared to take my time over a walk - both choices viable given the distance, but walking not always an option given the changeable weather. The roadways to the cabins need some attention, fortunately I drive a 4WD. Apart from location, I cannot see why the room prices are so high.

Stayed here twice before, worth spoiling yourself had balcony room overlooking lake with platypus swimming! Warm room with flickering gas fire light at night and room to move around. Close to Tavern for food and drinks or sit by the fire on a rainy afternoon and also shuttle bus.
Miss the vibe of chilling by the Lodge lower fire place when it was separated from the food service area, now feels like sitting next to a food court so lost some of its original charm with the new renovation. Get in early for breakfast at restaurant as they started getting empty buffet serving plates by the time we arrived at 9am to a nearly full house

The staff and being do close to nature was unforgettable. Highly recommend a visit to the day spa, heavenly, I totally fell asleep - comfortable treatment tables and skilled staff.
The beds had very cheap and hard uncomfortable mattresses so I could hardly get any sleep. You’d think for $700+ per night you’d sleep in a king bed which would make you think you’re sleeping in a cloud. Bistro food was below average and there were numerous things that they were out of. Brûlée was out…. Brûlée is basically eggs milk sugar and vanilla. How do you run out of that?? Just make more!

Great location and resort. Room was great, possible time for and update on bathrooms. Breakfast was also great. We had new years dinner in the restaurant and it was fantastic.
On booking it was very hard to get hold of anyone and even harder to get anyone to call back. Also found a couple of the staff in the tavern a very rude, not just to us but to other customers. The spa treatment my husband had was great, mine was only OK. Also the steam room in the Sanctuary was not working. The spa is very pricey so expect perfect service. Staff were nice.

We loved the location, ranger station where the bus stops is just a few mins of walk away. Enchanted Walk is within the grounds of the lodge. We booked a balcony room which had an amazing view of the lake. Room was very cozy and clean. The on site tavern/bistro meal offerings were good, a fancier restaurant is also available for when celebrating something special. Waldheim Alpine spa was also in the lodge which is a bonus. All the staff we have dealt with have been very helpful and friendly. Also, the free buffet breakfast is really great as we did not have to think where to get a meal early morning given that the area is very remote. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
We were okay that there were no tvs in the room but we wished there was an option to have wifi in the room. We understand some people want to disconnect but for us planning the rest of our travel, if we needed to book things for the rest of our trip for the upcoming days, we had to head to the main building in order to get wifi. This is not ideal after a long day of driving/hiking and all we wanted was to be lazy in our room. It would be good to have it as an option and those who want to disconnect can choose to not use it and those who 'need' it has the option to have it in the room.

My fiancé and I travelled up to peppers cradle mountain lodge for 2 nights and 3 days. It’s a beautiful place to stay and worth a visit. We found that the staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Our rooms were clean, however be aware that there is no TV or internet connection in the rooms itself, however there is at the lobby. We really enjoyed watching the wildlife from our window and the view of the mountain was beautiful. The beds weren’t as comfy but that is something we can overlook. The breakfast was pretty good, it’s a buffet style and the staff give a run down if it is your first time. You can buy a park pass from the lodge and catch a shuttle near the lodge which was really handy. The bistro was really good, the food was super tasty and big portions. It’s relatively expensive however the portions are massive so you get yours moneys worth. Overall, my partner and I will be back and we loved our stay at the lodge.
The beds aren’t as comfy

Cradle Mountain is a unique location and peppers lodge is based right near the heart of it. Although an older lodge, our room was modern, clean and well presented. The small hikes/walks around the lodge led you to some amazing hidden spots, and there was an abundance of local wildlife in the area. Whilst there the temperatures dropped to - 3 and awoke to sleet and frost covering the entire area; it was quite magical and almost as if I were living in a real life fantasy. The food within the lodge was pretty good, it was a little pricey but I did expect this.
There isn't too much I didn't like. We did have an issue with our heating in our room which unfortunately happened around 2am in the morning. But after a few calls to the off site manager the problem was resolved very quickly.
