The best thing about this place for me was the surrounding nature. Beautiful jungle views from all terraces, the great location is on the slope. They have a pool and a yoga shala which is great. Can hear the river water flowing underneath. It is also great for people who like walking - easy to go to town through a market street and in the morning it’s super nice to walk the opposite direction, out of town and towards the rice fields. There is a beautiful sweet orange walk just a short walk away. Rooms seem to have been refurbished recently, nice deco, terrace. Daily cleaning was appreciated. They let me check in early because room was ready.
The restaurant where breakfast was served is cozy, but the food itself a little basic: Bali coffee / tea, fruit and pancake, omelette or nasi goreng. Ubud is still trying to fight the online taxis, and this homestay is no exception. They have a sign up “no online taxis allowed” and staff makes sure to remind you. They do offer taxi service like airport transfer for a similar price, but how about short bike rides one would take inside Ubud town.. Just mentioning it here with hope that it can be fixed - my room (No 2 I think) had mold on the wall behind the bed (no headboard) one could really smell it all the time and was a little unpleasant.

This little gem was so stunning! It doesn't pop up on booking.com very often as they often have yoga groups there - so if its available - BOOK IT. The location is fabulous. It's in the middle of the art market but as soon as you enter through the entryway, it's like a little oasis. The rooms are beautiful and calm - the gardens are so relaxing and I ended up extending my stay in Ubud purely because I didn't want to leave this property. I stayed in both the Twin room down the bottom of the garden and a higher single room. The twin room had an awesome huge bathroom and nestled in the garden which was gorgeous. The single room had a smaller bathroom but a huge big private balcony which was beautiful to relax on. Breakfast is nice and simple - but was yummy and there are plenty of warangs and cafes around if you want to mix it up. Honestly I want to live here <3
It's nothing big - but little things may have been nice to make this place phenomenal. The rooms do not have a fridge - this would just be nice for keeping drinks cold after a long day exploring. It's also not possible to reach the room by car (which I didnt know in advance) - so you need to be able to walk with your bag through the art market (or from a parallel street) to the homestay. There are steep steps to most of the rooms on the property so if you have mobility issues you may find it hard as the handrails are not amazing. There is 2 rooms that do not have steep steps (will have to venture down to get to the pool) that you could always request if needed.

We stayed in 7 different hotels in Indonesia and this was definitely our favorite. The garden is otherwordly beautiful and the rooms spacious and even prettier than the pictures suggest. The bathroom was the best we have had in Indonesia. There is also a yoga space you can use. The location is right inside Ubud art market.
Keep in mind this is a family business so things don't run exactly like a clock. For example, no shampoo or shower gel was offered, the water label was moldy and we saw flies multiple times in the water tank offered to refill bottles. Just ask them if you have an issue and they will take care of it.

Clean rooms and in a beautiful setting. Very comfy clean beds. Excellent location, coming out onto a nice street market. The grounds are lush and beautiful. Very nice sit out terrace/balcony. Decorated as seen in the description. A/c worked well, kettle and coffee provided There was a hairdryer provided in the room. (Some reviews I read said not) maybe old reviews. Didn't use the swimming pool. Breakfast was simple but adequate. And the breakfast area is gorgeous We went on a tour from the accommodation, which was excellent competitively priced and safe driving and a/car. We also used this service to go to the airport when leaving, also excellent. Highly recommend, very enjoyable stay. Would definitely come again.
Maybe a fridge in room, but not a major issue as a mini. Market is very close by.

It was a nice room in a hidden garden. Very quiet homestay in the middle of Ubud. The location is absolut great, you get everywhere within minutes by walking. We also always had hot water.
Note that most Grab driver will not drive into that street. So they will drop you in the parallel street and you have to walk with your luggage. Also I have to say that there was a lot of humidity in the room and therefore in the mattresses. It would help if the AC would run during the day.

The Homestay has many points in its favour: the location which makes it easy to reach and visit the town of Ubud. You enter the complex after crossing a patio full of temples and flowers, the garden is a small oasis of peace (the noise of the city is not heard), the pool is of good quality and allows you to cool off in the silence and calm. My room No 11 was next to a river which eased my sleep and waking up next to a small temple is a sweet experience. The room is simple, the mattresses are comfortable, the cleanliness is impeccable as in every part of the Homestay. The air conditioning works perfectly as does the WI FI. The room can be locked from the inside and you have water available to fill your bottles. The staff is present and available to organize tours even at the last minute.I recommend without any doubt the stay at Down The Rabbit Hole , in the case of my return to Ubud I will not hesitate to return with pleasure from them.
there is no hairdryer, breakfast has all the ingredients to improve I do not doubt that it will be so in the future! thanks!!

The accommodation looked even more spacious and beautiful than I had expected. I especially loved the balcony that overlooked a forested area. From there, you can hear sounds of waterfalls, birds and crickets. It's perfect for reading, journalling, or even doing some yoga. The bed and pillows were comfy too. The breakfasts were simple but tasty. And I loved eating breakfast at their quaint restaurant below, which was always cooling and quiet, beside a temple. The location is also perfect. Very close to great restaurants, and the main shopping belts.
I stayed in Room 16 and the water heater was not working well. The water was either too cold, or scalding hot. For safety, I bathed in cold water daily as a result, which was not ideal as it can actually get quite chilly in Ubud at night. Soundproofing was not great too. Could hear neighbours easily when they shower or play music. There were also construction noises in the day sometimes.

This was an absolute gem of a place. Location was exceptional - tucked away and quiet yet close to everything. The property was truly stunning; I can’t describe how beautiful walking down the paths to the pool area was. My room was comfortable and cozy yet modern. I loved this stay.
I did not have hot water for one of the nights I was there, at a time I really needed it! Communication with staff was delayed on both booking.com and WhatsApp. Otherwise, highly recommended.

It is a very cozy place, with good prices and very kind staff. They do their best to speak English but they may fail at it sometimes, as normal for this location. The room was nice, clean, their tours and taxi driver Ngura was just so kind and very competitively priced. The location is good because it is 5 minutes walking from the main street so you are close, yet far from the noise.
Breakfast could be better, but it is perfect for the price and considering that it is cooked by the family.

The whole experience was absolutely exceptional. The hygiene level of Down The Rabbit Hole accommodation was outstanding, the food was always full of surprise and extremely delicious, I have never tasted such tasty and appetizing vegetarion menus before, the kitchen staff was definitely naturally gifted in creating such delicious and comfy vegan/vegetarian options. The whole staff were always full of smile and friendliness, and the support team were extremely helpful with organizing everything from the very beginning till the end of the program. The teachers were phenomenal! I have gained so much knowledge and inspiration and they always gave their best to give us attention, care and compassion. Living in the beautiful local Balinese people and experienced the authentic culture of Bali have made one of my best adventures ever!
