Nice homestay, feels "local" and "authentic", so perhaps be prepared for a little bit of cultural shock. Beautiful garden and pool. Room is big and acceptably clean. Good location

The walls are thin and it can be noisy (dogs barking, other guests talking...) so I'd recommend earplugs. No separation between shower and toilet (fairly common in Indonesia), and massive unobstructed window in the bathroom, so you can watch your neighbours while you shower (and they you -.-).

We only stayed 2 nights though would have stayed longer if we had the time. the location is ideal for shopping and eating with the main street within 200m, Monkey forest is a 20 minute walk. Circle K, Indomaret etc. just meters from entrance to accommodation. we had read other reviews so knew to enter through the main gate and turn right between a couple of buildings, up a flight of stairs and accommodation is on the right. AC worked well and there was a fan also. The pool was great for a swim after a long day walking around Ubud. For budget accommodation I will definitely stay here again.

After having a disappointing first night in Ubud at a different property the Bagus Homestay was a brilliant way to make up for that disappointment. A brilliantly run family business with the most friendly staff and lovely facilities, a great pool to cool off in and very close to all restaurants and different activities in Ubud. The breakfast was different every day and was delicious every day as well, I couldn't rate this place any higher!

The duvet cover was a little small when sharing with 2 people but that didn't affect sleep. We did have an issue with our shower on the first night but the friendly staff sorted this out straight away with no questions asked which was a great customer service experience !

It was well-located. There were multiple convenience stores right next door, including a medium sized Indomaret. It's located on Jln Suweta which is simple, local and quiet out of the streets off central Ubud. The room was somehow designed so nicely that it had a perfect slightly cooling temperature with just the fan on. The A/C works perfectly anyway when I need it though. The ibu was very pleasant and took care of our needs in addition to preparing breakfast for us every morning with variations. The way things were set up somehow created a homely environment between guests where each guest had their own sorta private balcony (at least for me on the 2nd floor).

The shower heater in my room took quite a bit to get used to because it didn't exactly react to the knob movements the way one would expect it to. Turning the knob to the far left would activate hot water for anywhere between 30 and 90 seconds. Within that time I'd turn the knob to where I want it to be but it didn't follow fully. After a while, it went cold and I had to restart the cycle.

The location is great as it’s located right in the city center. Consider that the access is through a very narrow street, so if you arrive by car, you’ll need to walk with your luggage to arrive to the property. It has a very beautiful pool area and the pool is clean. They helped me with the luggage and to get some medicines when I needed them. They offer free water. The room was beautiful and spacious, the bed very comfortable as well. The place for breakfast is very nice, by the pool and park.

The tables inside the room (like nightable and desk) were dirty (sticky stains from previous beverages there).

The room was spotless and wonderfully furnished, we especially appreciated the mini fridge and clothes dryer. The breakfast was delicious and served on our terrace, and the swimming pool was very refreshing in the Ubud heat. Everyone was lovely, greeting us with a smile and a hello. The location was also perfect - it was far back off the street enough to be very peaceful and quiet, yet just a stone’s throw from the main street.

I loved staying at Bagus Homestay! The owners and housekeeping are so friendly and welcoming. The room and bed were comfortable and clean, hot water in the shower. While not being a five star hotel, the secluded garden is a perfect place to rest and recharge in the pool, while being smack in the middle of Ubud’s main street’s hustle and bustle. Breakfast is a treat and different every day (if you have preferences, you can tell them). Perfect!

I didn't realize just how much of a luxury it was until I no longer stayed there and stayed in a hostel. Bagus homestay was wonderful. My room was big and spacious with a big comfy bed and big shower room. The bedroom had a ceiling fan which is my absolute preferred cooling method because I had the soft sound and breeze to sleep to. I wasnt too hot or cold at all. Breakfast was good and enjoyed from the delight of my own balcony. The pool looked fabulous but I didn't make time to use it. The only trouble I had with the place was finding the building after I found the entrance from the road since it's up and around with no obvious sign where to meet the host but I got it in the end. I would 100% recommend this place for budget travelers who want a peaceful private room in a super central location. Wifi worked great too..

A few signs to help people get to the host if they arrive In the evening. Or instructions to meet host at the entrance by the road? The addition of mini kitchen with kettle and fridge was great too.

Confortable room, with everything you need. Clean enough (for Indonesian standard) and possible to get the room cleaned every day. Nice situation with the garden and the pool.

Sometimes too noisy, because of a temple or I don't know what juste beside, sometimes playing music really loud and for quite a long time. I've also been waked up in the middle of the night because of dogs barking. But beside that, for the most quiet, you don't hear the road.

We loved staying here. The Homestay is tucked away and very tranquil, with lots of greenery and a pool. It only takes you a few steps to be back in the centre of Ubud - the location is excellent. The staff are also lovely and the breakfasts are so delicious and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend!
