The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The bathrooms were excellent. The views were good. The hot tub was fabulous. Our group made good use of it. Robes were provided for free. The hotel offers a wake up call for the aurora which worked really well. We warned them 6 weeks ahead of our stay of our dietary requirements and the kitchen went to an enormous effort to cater to our party (5 plant based eaters who will eat vegetarian when out and about, and a vegan with a nut/seed allergy). They did a separate menu for us and the food was excellent. Cannot thank them enough. Breakfast was also well catered for. The waiting staff were all friendly, courteous and considerate. One of our best nights in Iceland. The hotel is very convenient for so many fantastic tourist attractions - Namafjall, Hverfall, Dimmuborgir, Myvatn Nature Baths, and the wonderful Snowdogs, amongst others.

This hotel was in a great spot for our trip around the ring road. The bed was soft and comfortable and the shower amenities were nice. The location was ideal - definitely centrally located to everything to see in the area. Wifi was free but breakfast was not included. We ended up paying for it (which was expensive as most things in Iceland are) but it was probably the best breakfast we had on the trip and they included traditional Icelandic foods. There was also a nice coffee/tea machine in the room. There was also a restaurant and bar on the property.

Overall the room was petty small, as was the shower, but it was a good place for a one-night stay.

First of all, we were snowed in for three days by an unexpected June blizzard. Throughout this experience, the staff was cheerful and helpful in assessing road conditions and helping to figure out how to adjust our plans. Their attitude made what could have been a horrible experience a pleasant one. We especially enjoyed the Gamli Baerinn restaurant that was directly next door. Both great staff and great food. Since we were stuck there, we tried almost everything on the menu and enjoyed every meal.

When the roads finally opened, the parking lot had still not been plowed. It took a lot of effort to dig our car out of almost two feet of snow. Another guest had to pay over $300 to a towing company to get his car pulled out of the spot he was in. Would have been nice if the parking lot had been cleared, however, since this a "freak" storm perhaps need to be understanding.

The decor and design were quirky and interesting. The breakfast was very good and the member of staff there very friendly and helpful. The location was ideal.

Days before our stay we were bombarded with messages to upgrade our room. Eventually I followed the link and was horrified to see on the website that the upgraded room was advertised for less than 3 Euros more than we had paid for our standard room. The hotel was wanting us to bid substantial amounts on top of what we had paid for this upgrade. I emailed the hotel to complain about this and was offered the upgrade at no further cost. I was pleased with this outcome until we arrived, when the rude receptionist (Sunny) started challenging me regarding my email implying I didn't understand fluctuating supply and demand rates for rooms. An extremely awkward experience which made us so uncomfortable that we decided to go elsewhere for dinner.

The location of the hotel was very nice. The hot-tubs outside were free to use and it was superb experience. They gave us bathrobes which was very convenient. Hotel was clean and nice. Staff was very kind to explain everything what we needed to know. They offered us wake up call for aurora.

Room was very small, we could not really fit in with our luggage but I suppose it was our fault as we have chosen the cheapest room. I think it was still a good deal for the money spent. There was no fridge in the room or kettle. Only coffee machine where you could also have hot water.

We had the king suite, PLENTY of space. Nice desk area in bedroom. The living room area had a couch, chair and two tables. The bathroom has plenty of space. The restaurant was fantastic (we had dinner and breakfast there). All the staff that we encountered was very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are dark and we felt needed more lighting. There was no mini fridge in the room (most suites have them) so our food that needed to be kept cool we left in the car. (our visit was in February)

Big window, spacious, and quiet. Aurora call service is very nice and thoughtful. Free hot pots with free lending of bath robs marked the highlight of our stay here. There was an option to skip room cleaning the next day and in return getting a discount for purchasing in their mini store next to the counter, but we didn’t find things we need or want.

The auto-opening main gate was broken, making luggage carrying annoying. The entry road at the parking area is poor in condition.

Lovely room, comfy beds, helpful staff and great location.

It was terribly noisy. The bathrooms had sliding doors and we could hear every time someone opened and closed their bathroom door in multiple rooms around us and above us. The toilets sounded like aeroplane toilets when they flushed and were so loud during the night. The breakfast was terribly expensive. We didn't take them up on it so I don't know what it was like. The pillows didn't suit us so we asked for other options and they didn't have any.

Free on-site parking. Friendly reception. The receptionist helped us make reservations to the Myvatn Nature Bath at a discount. Better English TV channels selections but still limited. Good size bathroom.

Our room was small and facing other buildings in the back of the hotel. Not pleasant. Rooms would be a lot nicer if they face the lake on the front side of the hotel. There wasn't enough space in the room for our 2 carry-on luggages and backpacks. There're large pot holes in the driveway into the hotel parking lot.
