Beau was the most fantastic member of staff I’ve encountered in a long time. He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable & really went the extra mile. If it wasn’t for Beau accomodating us and changing our room we likely wouldn’t have stayed at the hotel for the weekend. Location was 10/10.

Our first room was at the level of the pool & was not sound proofed at all. You could hear every word of the music with the doors fully shut. Some of the staff were slightly unprofessional at the restaurants, but the receptionists were fantastic. You can’t really get a spot on the pool loungers at peak times.

The room was great - very large, very quiet, in pristine condition and with all amenities. The complimentary mini bar was very much appreciated. We enjoyed our G&Ts and pretzels on the terrace before dinner and beers with chocolates when we came home. Breakfast offering was extensive and tasty, (although limited regarding cereal and fruit). The Atrium breakfast room was light and comfortable and visually appealing. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Finding the entrance to the hotel was a challenge. Signage is poor and from the street the main sign is for the spa. We entered through the front of the old hotel where the sign says Main Entry. Not a good idea as we had to wend our way through restaurants and bars and take a lift in order to reach reception. We had trouble with the Nespresso machine (we own three but they are all different from this model) and needed a staff member to assist. I would recommend instructions be provided. Lighting in the bathroom was very poor for applying make-up. Disappointingly the "medium" poached eggs I ordered for breakfast were as soft as my husband's order of "very runny". THE CONSTANT DOOF DOOF MUSIC AT BREAKFAST WAS EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT AND DESTROYED THE AMENITY!

Enjoyed the property a lot, great restaurants easy to access, walking distance to all areas, staff were very friendly, room was very clean and kept well :)

Walking through the Riley wing was very very hot in temperature, I’m assuming it has something to do with the location of the gym and maybe the sauna, everytime we would walk through to get to our elevator the hallway was very hot breaking out with a sweat instantly.. would Probley choose another room next time we stay just to avoid that, other wise it was great :)

I was looking forward to our stay in a retro-style renovated hotel. The reception staff were welcoming and pleasant. We had a 'cosy' suite booked in the Heritage wing on the 3rd floor. As we were only staying the one night, I love the 'cosy' option and had no preconceptions about it being anything other than small, yet well appointed. SMELL The room was beautiful with the exception of being confronted by an overwhelming, intense and putrid chemical, floral odour. It literally took our breath away. The windows could not be opened and having the door open didn't diminish the smell. To the hotel's benefit, the On Duty Manager organised an extractor fan immediately to try and expel the odour. 45 minutes later she contacted me and said the odour couldn't be removed, and she personally checked the room. UPGRADE We were then provided a King room with a balcony, an apology note and a complimentary bottle of red for any inconvenience caused. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the use of the balcony. So a big thank you to the On Duty Manage for both organising an upgrade and also checking the odour in person. AUDREY'S WOW!! Now this was amazing. We had a wonderful welcome from the Maitre De. Our waiter, Sebastian, was a delight. He was informative, bright and attentive. The food was undeniably perfect. It was a well oiled machine from kitchen, to table service to the perfectly matched wines. ATRIUM The location and ambience of the Atrium was wonderful.

The hot breakfast buffet items were cold. The initial room was overly perfumed and uninhabitable. The exchange room still had a very mild version of the fragrance, but we could open the patio doors.

Booked this property for my parents 40th anniversary, they had nothing but amazing things to say. They really look after you in terms of service, I believe the room my parents stayed in also had a complimentary mini bar that was a exceptional touch! They also hand wrote a cute card for them congratulating them on their anniversary. Things like that truly mean much more than expected. My mum endlessly raged on about their breakfast buffet too and the eggs she had there! Overall a great experience

The professionalism by staff and as you walked down the corridors the smell of lemongrass fragrance. Everything clean as you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

Unfortunately there was plenty of bad things. The lights were hard to figure out. ( Touch sensors). We couldn’t find the remote for the TV. Not enough hooks in the room to hang clothes on. The room was very tiny ( 30m2). Even to turn the bedroom lights on was difficult. The cost for a very simple breakfast was $35 each. There was a menu instead of helping yourself and we felt hungry when we left. This needs to improve. You pay an extra $20 per/night to store your car in the undercover car park. This should be included in the price. So not a cheap stay being in Sorrento.

This hotel is really amazing. The facilities are contemporary and the pool area is just stunning. Our room was in the heritage building, slightly small but great for one night!

Id like to suggest a little more signage for things like the gym, whats on each level as we got lost a few times. Another suggestion, the buffet breakfast is super limited and one shouldnt be able to recieve more than 1 x barista coffee at a place like this.

March 2023

The breakfast is excellent however the dining in the Atrium far exceeded my expectations.

OK its not in your control but a cricket was hiding under my cupboard in room 2303 on the night of the 7th March chirping its heart out and after a sleepless night discovered this a around 6am. After squashing him ruthlessly I was able to get back to sleep. On Saturday evening the 8th March while comfortably lying in bed watching netflix, it was around 930pm, the emergency evacuation alarm went off. Once again, not under your control. I thought "what now". Thankfully a false alarm. This is my second stay in a month. I love it. The spa facility which I tried on Friday was amazing and worth every penny.

Location….in the middle of Sorrento, with walking access to everything. Very nice design of hotel and bedrooms with a high quality finish. Bedroom is small…but perfectly formed! Food was excellent too. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner…all very good.

One minor issue was that we had to pay $35 in the car park for a one night stay

The Intercontinental is a beautiful hotel, with amazing helpful staff, located on the best spaces in Sorrento. Dinners and lunches have great menu's and delicious food.

Breakfast is still not quite right. The buffet has plenty of food, but maybe not the diversity. Muesli, porridge, non-sourdough bread could be other choices. Bacon, and eggs every day will kill me.
