The room was simple but perfectly adequate. The bed was very comfortable. The carpets and fittings are all nice and new. The bathroom is tiny, but spotless, and the shower was great, though you wouldn't want to be fat! I only ate once in the restaurant, and the meal was much better than the one I paid three times as much for the next day. The location, looking out over New Quay's harbour and beach, was perfect.

Room 1 does not have much of a view, except of roofs and walls, which is probably why it is such a bargain, far cheaper than any local B&B. If I had wanted to spend hours gazing out to sea I'd have requested a room at the front.

On arrival the staff were very friendly, told us breakfast times if required & best to book for evening meal as it gets busy....so we did. The room (No1) was a reasonable size, bathroom was tiny tho, but had a decent shower. The room was comfortable & reasonably warm with just one radiator, king size bed was comfy, we could see the sea from our window, housemaid changed our towels for us. Great location for the Village & for our coastal walk routes we done. The only thing not so good was the evening meal, hard gammon, hard fried eggs, tiny mushroom & a million chips, my wife had a dry chicken burger with 4 shreds of cut up lettuce on ...& a billion chips....ridiculous amount. The breakfast tho was better, but we just felt that (only the cooked food & the orange concentrate juice) they had use the cheapest ingredients for cook8ng your breakfast ....& you can tell.....however the porridge was lovely.

Perfect location . Breakfasts good . Good sea view room . Room modern and clean but bathroom let it down as dirty .Good that its dog friendly . Lee the barman smiley and friendly as was the barman with ponytail.

Didn't like that you pay for parking when staying at the hotel . It would be good if staying at the property to get the cost of parking back . The room was modern and clean but tge bathroom was very diry . Mould on ceiling above shower , could do with a wipe. Very dirty ceiling extractor fan . Rusty slime on wall soap dispenser. Black smudge on shower skirting board . Thick dust on top of sink light . Very cheap thin toilet roll . The actual pub was nice inside but the white chairs were very dirty and black . Need washing or painting white again .

The whole experience from when we arrived to leaving The Penwig was amazing right on the sea front ideal for dolphin spotting. Communication from the start was excellent check in and out online so easy Staff were so welcoming and when showed to the room we had the wow moment. We had room 7. Sea views from 4 windows a spacious bedroom which we could close off from a spacious seating area and a bathroom with a shower. An absolutely brilliant nights sleep. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and for breakfast. Both meals great value for money and tasted delicious. Would advise to book for evening meal as did get busy. However this did not distract from the service we received which was warm and friendly nothing was too much trouble

Bed was very comfortable. Location was great. There was no parking facilities but we knew this when we booked, but we were able to park in the nearest car par a few minutes away. The room was a bit basic and perhaps needed a little TS but otherwise our stay was good and we would recommend.

The extract fan did not work and wasn't fixed whilst we were there, although it did not affect the use of the bathroom The room overall needed a bit of TLC. Only the top part of the sash windows could open but again this was no big deal.

We enjoyed our stay in Penwig, the room was clean bright and modern. We had a lovely view of the harbour. The bed was really comfy and the towels were large and soft.

The shower cubicle was quite small . We couldn't get the 20% discount off the food when I went to pay, we were told I had to book the table online beforehand even though the barman asked me if we wanted to book a table, (which we did )without explaining the discount procedure. Very poor advertising.....!!!! This is why we chose not to have breakfast each morning, instead we went elsewhere. Such a shame this is not an automatic gift on booking at Penwig. Which is what we thought at the time.

Very welcoming staff and happy to oblige when assistance needed. Room was lovely with great view of sea, could do with a few more pictures on the walls. Bed and bedding clean and comfortable The shelf on toilet sink needs moving as far too close to tap making the tap access and use challenging. Food was delivered quickly fairly mediocre. Would suggest perhaps a mat at room entrance for shoe removal to save the carpet. No parking at location however there is a good size car park central to the town which isn't too bad unless you may have lots of luggage! We enjoyed our stay here and would reccommend

Fabulous location and really comfortable, clean rooms. We were sad to leave a day early, due to my husband being rushed into hospital, back home.

The breakfast was absolutely appalling! Exceptionally overpriced, dry and small!! We asked for poached eggs on whole grain toast. It arrived after sitting under the heating lamps for approximately 10 minutes so the “toast” was hard and dry. Said toast was hardly toasted and came with no butter on it and not a whole grain in sight! The eggs were cooked to within an inch of their lives, too. The price charged was eye watering and absolutely not worth it. We were forced to breakfast else where for the duration of our stay.

The hotel was well presented. Very clean with our room in a good state of decor, with all amenities required. The sea view was excellent. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was very good both breakfast and other meals. Good value for money. The resort in general was well looked after. Seeing the dolphins close to the harbour was a real bonus.

The shower cubicle was small but nothing to cause a serious concern.

Ideal spot. Family room was bigger than I expected. Friendly staff who took us to our rooms. Most comfiest beds. Loved the fact there was plenty of tea, coffee and sugars plus biscuits left out. I would definitely stay again.

The only thing I can say I wasn’t happy with was the fact the single beds was down stairs. Would properly be ok for families with 2 children but my 10 year old was very worried and scared being in her own. Not a problem tho as we moved her upstairs with us. I think I would of preferred the double downstairs and the singles up.
