The managers who work at the Hive gave us a great welcome . The room was beautifully furnished with radio and TV and a walkin shower on the ground floor.Also two complementary tokens for honey ice cream at the Hive Restaurant opposite where we had a fantastic breakfast that lasted us all day! The surprise Welsh hospitality was a real coffee machine with fresh milk and complementary drinks in the fridge. Thank you

Sadly at this time the Harbour is being refurbished so woken at 8am. Great for those wanting to watch diggers, cranes and dumper trucks in action. Of course not the fault of the Hive

We stayed in Belle Vue room - absolutely beautiful with lovely views across the water. Very clean and comfortable with everything we needed and wanted, including refreshments, toiletries, and fast wifi. Even a free ice cream! Included breakfast was varied and great quality in the lovely Hive restaurant over the road. Free parking available in the harbour carpark <100m away. Can easily walk around the town and along the coast path from the Townhouse. Staff were very kind and helpful. Overall a fantastic stay and we will definitely be back.

Absolutely no fault of the Hive Townhouse, but worth being aware that there are currently building works going on in the harbour and street outside (due to be finished by early 2025) which can be loud in the morning from about 7.30, and may disturb you if you want to enjoy a lie in.

The town is beautiful and the Hive is centrally located - within easy reach of the beach, the shops, restaurants and parking. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was like something out of Homes and Gardens magazine!! Beautifully furnished - spotless - fab toileteries and even a fridge with complimentary beers and cocktails! (plus crisps, nuts, biscuits and an ice cream!) Comfortable beds - very quiet. The food first class - we had dinner and breakfast - We shall certainly be returning and recommending The Hive to all our friends and family!! Thank you everyone at the Hive!

The attention to detail in the design and facilities in the room was the best I have found, and I've been staying in some very pricey top end hotels in recent months. By far the best thought out room, with superb finishes. All the extras such as snacks etc were included, very civilized! The personal welcome letter was a lovely touch. The staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is an event in itself. Such a lovely low key atmosphere and as a single female traveller I could not have felt more welcome / safe / comfortable.

Not at all the fault of the hotel but the harbour was being restructured so the workmen started at 8am which was predictable but a shame, and somewhat took away from the 'sea view' room which I paid extra for. These things happen though, can't be helped.

Breakfast was excellent as was the service. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was well cooked and a good variety. The room we were in was at the top which involved climbing a lot of steps but the view from the room was great. My grandparents house was right across the harbour so I got a good view of it bringing back many happy memories. The staff were very friendly. You felt they were genuinely happy see you and give help if necessary. The room was lovely. Loved the tiling , had a copper bath which was lovely to look at but far too deep for me to attempt to get in. You could almost swim in it! Bed was comfortable ensuite had a lovely huge head and plenty of hot water. Water and lager in the mini fridge which you could help yourself to along with snacks. All in all a great place to stay.

Can't think of anything that could be improved. Found the stairs somewhat of a chore but then we were at the top. There is a lot of work going on outside the hotel at the harbour to counter erosion which made parking close to the hotel a slight problem but there is plenty of parking nearby. The hotel is in a good position with plenty of lovely walks you can go on and a short walk to the centre of town.

The room was beautifully presented with lovely touches such as complementary snacks and drinks and a GHD hairdryer! Fabulous bathroom, gorgeous toiletries and comfy bed. The staff were excellent, very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The full Welsh breakfast was excellent.

More storage needed in the room. Apart from the small wardrobe there was nowhere else to put anything. Whilst the shelves with ornaments were very decorative, one of them could have been used for a chest of drawers. The eggs Florentine breakfast wasn't good. Quite expensive.

Everything was fantastic. This is my new favourite place to escape to. The staff are so friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate you in whatever you need. The bed was so comfortable and the rooms decorated beautifully with some free extra touches that make you feel special. The corner rooms have great views across the river, the rooms on the side overlook the inland harbour which is currently under repairs along its walls at the moment so no boats or water in it. Massive portions for breakfast, I couldn't finish it which broke my heart as the food is wonderfully tasty. I can't wait to come back. Lots of other lovely restaurants close by. All in all a great place to go for a foodie weekend.

The location was ideal for exploring the town without using a car, and also for accessing public transport. The breakfast was superb, with a wide choice, all of very high quality. We also used the Hive Kitchen for dinner and were very impressed. The room was beautifully equipped and the owners provided a generous range of complimentary drinks & snacks. It was however the attitude of all the staff that left the strongest impression - we were extremely well looked after.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

It was of a very high standard overall. The facilities and toiletries were superb! The extras provided such as the free mini bar and snacks were a very pleasant surprise plus the free ice cream tokens! Loved the GHD hair dryer and the steamer iron! Staff were helpful and pleasant! Breakfast was 10/10!

The only negative for us was the air con, we didn’t know how to set it to a lower temperature so the room was extremely warm although there was a fan provided which helped a little bit.

Hive Townhouse is one of the best guesthouses/hotels I have ever stayed in. Aga (the Head of Housekeeping) is fantastic, check in was very simple and we were upgraded to Vulcan, which has a copper bath in the room. The room is beautifully furnished and decorated. Everything is very high-end, from the mugs to the bedding, and the lighting is brilliant - just right. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. A selection of snacks and drinks (soft and alcoholic) are provided free of charge in the room, together with luxury toiletries. There is a GHD hairdryer and a handheld clothes steamer, plus a little bag of different USB wires in case you forget your charger. The bed was very comfortable and Aga had ensured that my request for feather-free bedding was fulfilled. The location is excellent, close to all shops and restaurants, with a sea/harbour view from the room. The breakfast is served over the road at the Hive Bar and Kitchen and was completely outstanding, again with Aga providing exceptional service. I would stay here again without a second thought; we will definitely be back. Thanks Aga for helping to make this stay really special.

I honestly cannot think of one thing that could have been better. Well, apart from the tipsy ladies who thought that our room was theirs and tried to come in during the afternoon!
