The Royal Horse Guards is a classic and beautifully appointed hotel. This was my fourth stay at this charming residence . It’s like stepping back in time to the days of spies and intrigue. I was given a wonderful tour and found out that MI 6 was founded here, by Sir Mansfield Smith-Cumming. Winston Churchill also had secret headquarters here during the war. The rooms are lovely and spacious-beautifully decorated. Afternoon tea is served, bringing you back to a wonderful tradition of England’s very “civilized” enjoyment. The location is fantastic, next to the Thames River near “Big Ben”, in the heart of London. The restaurant is excellent. Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. It even has an outdoor garden where you can sit and enjoy the lovely park next door! The hotel prices are reasonable for what you are given during your stay. I hope to return soon…. “Cheers” P

The check in area was beautiful, loved the flowers. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice and in a lovely environment. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful and there was a lovely atmosphere.

After a long day sight seeing we wanted to relax and stream our favourite shows on the hotel television, this was not possible even after a visit from the technician.

Staff, food and rooms were excellent. Super location for exploring London on foot or, further afield, with great access to the underground/overground and of course the Thames.

Breakfast was delicious! Location allowed us to see quite a lot in a short period of time. The room was very comfortable, spacious and provided all necessities.

The room we stayed in was cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One perk we loved was the complimentary minibar—it gets refilled daily with drinks and snacks, which is a fun little bonus you don’t always get at hotels. The Royal Horseguards Hotel is near the north bank of the River Thames, and is a short walk from Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and the London Eye. The hotel is close to Charing Cross and Embankment stations which made it easy to navigate the city.

I think our room was on top of a club or concert venue, and we could hear and feel the bass vibrations. While the music did end around 11 PM-12AM, it detracted from our experience. The room we stayed in also wasn't very big. There's a nice balcony but you can't step outside - you can only open it to let a breeze come through.

Staff were welcoming, efficient and helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained.Spacious room, beautiful large windows, comfortable mattress. Attractive bathroom, large bathtub, and sinks. All sparkling clean. Personally I think it is a fair price for a stay in an iconic building and location. Staff show pride in the hotel, and that says a lot about a place. Will stay there again.

Honestly, just a few minor details. The shower head could do with a repositioned stand to make life easier. Outside railings could do with a little re painting in some spots and the lovely hotel overdoor metal display could definitely do with a tiny up after the summer months.

The room was nice, a little smaller than we expected, but very comfortable. We loved the heated floor in the bathroom, the bed was just right and we slept great, it was pretty quiet. Any noise we did hear, had nothing to do with the hotel, but was still great. Location was perfect, just a short walk and you are across the bridge at the London Eye, 5 minutes to Embankment, or a few more to Westminster, a very quick walk to all of the theaters, Buckingham Palace and everything else you can think of. Breakfast was good, dinner was very good, and we absolutely loved the Strawberries and Creme tea, it is a blend made especially for them.

As I said, breakfast was good,, aside from the last day, which they were slow getting it setup, hardly anything was out when it opened at 6:30 and after 20 minutes, there was still much not there. There were quite a few people there to eat before our rides to the airport arrived, we ended up having to eat at the airport, so a bit of a waste of money on that day.

The location was excellent, a few minute walk from the tube station and walking distance to St James park, Westminster Abby, Big Ben, National Gallery Museum etc.. Our room was very spacious compared to others, updated bathroom was wonderful but we did not have any view. There was Nespresso machine and ample supply of coffee pods/tea plus water bottles in the fridge. The English Breakfast buffet was excellent (included in the room fee) with plenty of choices.

I stayed here for London Marathon and chose this room in the package but the room fee is still expensive compared to other hotel choices in London. It said 5 star hotel but other than the location, I don't know if it fits the bill. It took us for a long time to check in as not every check in portal at the reception desk wasn't open. The house keeping staff weren't very efficient as when we asked for more coffee pods and clean cups, the staff didn't bring everything at once and he came back like three times. Plus when we had "do not disturb" sign on the door they knocked and came in the room!

The location was perfect for us. Convenient to Westminster and the heart of London. Tube station was just a 2-3 min walk away as is the River Thames. The room and bed were very large by European standards. The staff were always friendly and nice, our last morning in particular when Javier walked out to another street to flag down a cab for us. The breakfast buffet had plenty of delicious choices.

The small shower had two choices, a handheld and a large shower head directly overhead from which there was no escape in such a small stall if you turned it on. Only one luggage rack in the room. Very few outlets for plugging in devices or medical equipment. The toiletries mentioned on the website were replaced with a lesser American (English-style) brand.

I recently stayed at the Royal Horseguards Hotel for five days, and it was truly an outstanding experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed warmly by the staff, who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. The room was absolutely amazing—beautifully decorated, spacious, and with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail in both the room and overall service was truly five-star quality. One of the best aspects of this hotel is its ideal location; it's incredibly convenient for exploring London’s attractions. Yet, it’s the service and the restaurant that made my experience unforgettable. The staff was extremely attentive and accommodating to my food allergies, making me feel safe and well-cared-for. Special shout-out to Gonzallo, the bar manager, who went out of his way to create a delightful dining experience. I cannot recommend The Royal Horseguards Hotel enough! For anyone looking for luxury, exceptional service, and a prime location in London, this is the place to be. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!
