Suzanne and Kevin were very nice and friendly. They were very generous with their local knowledge and they were very entertaining with their stories. Breakfast was very nice and nicely presented. nothing was too much trouble. Our room was pleasant . Tea and coffee was provided and topped up each day The shower was very nice, the sink was very small. the towels were changed each day

We liked the willingness of the landlord to add items to the breakfast menu and of the landlord, landlady and staff to address the guests needs. Bus service through Camelford connects to Bude on down the northern Cornish coast to Newquay. When we left we took a bus from Camelford to Bodmin and changed there to another bus to Bodmin Parkway Railway Station. We would all be happy to go back to the Countryman.

I cannot think of anything I did not like about the hotel. There was the fire in the pub about 100 yards or so down the road. This happened the day after we arrived. Since the equipment brought in to fight the fire filled the main road ... The only other thing about this part of the trip that caused comment - my wife's comment that 'Everywhere you go in Cornwall you either go straight up or straight down.'

Only booked a few hours before arriving so very spur of the moment. Arrived in the dark so finding the carpark was a bit awkward. Friendly host. Room was nice and warm, which was welcome cos it snowed overnight! Room was clean and had the usual tea and coffee facilities. The toilet and shower were next to the room and were spotless. The hosts lent me cutlery and a plate for the takeaway I bought for tea. Breakfast was very good and the host was pleasant and helpful

The location was good for my purposes. I had to leave too early to have breakfast, but if it had been possible for me to take something with me (a sandwich or bacon sandwich) and/or some fruit from the breakfast buffet table, that would have been useful for me.

There was no heating in the bathroom and the heating in the bedroom didn't come on till just before I had to leave, so had I wanted to take a shower before leaving, it would have been in a cold bathroom and then into a cold bedroom to finish drying off.

This is my second stay here. I'd book again too. The place is clean, welcoming and central for so many things. Camelford also has what I feel is the best Indian (Nepalese and Gurkha) restaurant in Cornwall. The Masons Arms is a good pub, there's a great chippy and the Chinese takeaway is good too. What's not to like?

Very welcoming feel at the property, the building was presented ti a high standard. The room we had was very comfortable & the service we received was exceptional. The Breakfasts were in a league of their own. Any specific requirements were welcomed by the hosts & the taste & quality was excellent. WE WILL BE RETURNING for our next stay!.

It was a family run business . The owners (the couple) were friendly and respected their guests privacy and preferences. Always greeted us with a smile. One of us was a vegetarian and they made him very comfortable at the breakfast table. I would highly recommend this place for a nice, calm and comfy stay.

It was so warm and welcoming nothing was to much amazing owners my daughter is nearly 20 and autistic and doesn't talk to many people but she wanted to take the owners home and leave her dad in exchange 🤣 she felt so comfortable with them they were amazing.

There's nothing I didn't like I have told all my friends and family about the countryman and would recommend to everyone.

Bed was nice and quite firm which was good for my back, the shower was very nice, both toilet and shower were kept very clean. Breakfast was good with a cooked option and cereals. It was good to have car parking although if it were busy I would imagine the car park would be full very quickly as it is quite small.

There could be better outside lighting to the car park and steps from the car park round to the front door - I returned after dark on a few evenings and whilst there is one outside light this is flickering. More than one bath towel would have been beneficial as they didn’t dry between uses when showering morning and evening.

I like how good placed it is to get anywhere around Cornwall if you are there for a visit to explore. How easy the owners go extra mile to adapt to your needs and absolutely loved it how much they care!!! It felt safe and homily. There are always smiles there. I went through an issue while there and they offered me anything to help,even out of my booking date and time. Can't recommend it enough and for sure I will be back!
