The room was very comfortable, if slightly too warm - but the weather had been so cold that I could quite understand this. Parking was excellent. The breakfast was very good and it was nice to be offered 'swaps' for the black pudding and baked beans which I don't eat. The location was excellent for walking to my hospital appointment and I was grateful to be able to leave my car at the hotel whilst I was at the hospital. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I've booked again for July, when I have to return to the hospital for another appointment.

Slightly cooler room but see my comment above.

Everywhere was clean and tidy - just as we remembered it from a previous visit. . The room had adequate space and was comfortable, as was the bed - we slept well. Staff were all very friendly, and helpful.

We were a little disappointed that there was no yoghurt for breakfast, the rest of the continental breakfast was good - we rarely have a cooked breakfast. We were a little late for the carvery, but within the time limit and were disappointed that the food was only just warm. If we had been told when we ordered the meals we would have made a different choice. The bathroom sink plug leaked and it was not easy to have a sink of water.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and find it satisfactory, although not perfect. I stay on a room only basis and cannot comment on their food. Reception staff (in a separate building in the bar/restaurant), are usually very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. The en-suite rooms have bathtubs with showers over (my preference), and non-slip bathmats are available on request. Prices are reasonable on Sunday evenings, usually, but can be more expensive on other nights. Usually plenty of free parking is available.

As the reception is in the bar/restaurant, in a separate building, this is inconvenient. If wet weather, you get wet! If they are busy with food etc, you can have to wait a while to get a key/card, as they can appear understaffed. Corridors in accommodation block often smell of cigarette smoke, but the rooms are OK. The hotel often does not answer to messages sent via Booking.com - best to phone them direct if you have special requests. Bath plugs do not have chains affixed, and are difficult to get out if bath is full of water. Complimentary tea/coffee etc, are extremely stingy, and if two staying in a room, ask for more supplies when you check in.

Super friendly on arrival, very helpful, the room was perfect for our needs, clean, with a superking size bed so plenty of room, a sofa, tea and coffee making facilities and a decent size TV. The shower was very powerful and really good. We arrived early evening and unfortunately the Carvery was nearly sold out so we opted for the regular menu. The service, food and price were all fantastic and we had a lovely relaxed evening.

There was only 1 main towel and 1 hand towel in the room so we had to request more, also there was only 1 small toilet roll which we had to stretch between us so have a spare would have been useful. The extra towels were provided to the room immediately and we didn't bother with the toilet roll but I suspect the same would have been the case if we had asked.

Good strength wifi - checked in early and used the Wifi for a work Teams call and it was excellent. Huge king sized bed really comfortable. Hotel is opposite the pub in the car park and plenty of free parking. Pub was much better than expected and the staff were super helpful and attentive. No issues with my room at all. The food in the pub was absolutely amazing, I was shock at how good it was - I had the cheeseburger and chips and it was delicious. Unmanned hotel so felt a bit weird going in with a card key but well lit and saw plenty of guests. 5/5 for me, I couldn't fault it and will use it again.

No air con - the windows open a few inches but enough to cool the room. No staff in the hotel, you check in and out in the pub. Wanted to leave at 5:30am and naturally it was shut, but found a box by the closed off hotel reception I assumed was for card keys! (hopefully it was...) Minor things and nothing really not to like for the price.

Reception staff were very helpful, as were housekeeping staff. Spacious and clean room. Comfortable bed. Adequate free parking. Premises overall was well decorated and clean. Good en-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower over (my preference). I did not have breakfast and so cannot comment.

Reception is in a separate building (the pub/restaurant) and there can be delays if the staff are busy serving etc. Also not so good in inclement weather. Special requests made on Booking.com were ignored, even when communications sent to them via Booking.com - not satisfactory. I would advise 'phoning the number given direct. The bath plugs have no chains fitted, and are very difficult to remove when bath is full of water. The corridor outside the room stank of cigarette smoke. The toilet needed quite a bit of strength to flush - any frail elderly guests would not manage it.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and warm with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Towels were in the rooms. The pillows were comfortable. We loved the fact that there were tea/coffee facilities in the room. We had a TV in the room so we could catch up on the days news. There were plenty of plug sockets with USB capability to charge phones, etc, and plug straighteners into. The pub was over the car park, so we could grab food or a beverage. It was very easy to check in/check out. There was a good selection of choices for breakfast. It was just around the corner from where we were visiting and the location was quiet over night so we weren't disturbed by traffic noises.

I can't think of anything which we didn't like.

It was set off from the street, so there was no sound of traffic, and there was little other sound. Sleep was perfect. Also, the King's Highway restaurant had a diverse-enough menu that I ate multiple meals there without repeats. Also, they only 'refresh' your room if you request it, so if you happen to sleep in, you're not bothered and don't have to be out of your room by a certain time (and those who might fear being robbed by maid staff won't face a situation like that.)

Nothing.

Pleasant staff. Conveniently positioned hotel. Good parking provision. Good sized room, and good well sized en-suite bathroom with bath with shower over (my preference). Well heated room on a cold January night. Lighting was good. Reasonably priced for room only.

Reception is in the restaurant/bar, which is in a separate building. In poor weather this makes checking in an unpleasant experience. Checking-in was not very fast due to them not having sufficient staff in the restaurant/bar, as all staff cannot check you in, which is frustrating. The menu is a fairly typical pub menu, which didn't appeal to me. When you get to your room, it is frustrating if you find things missing (like teaspoons), and have to return to the pub/restaurant to get replacements. Complimentary tea/coffee was very stingy, and again you have to go back to the pub/restaurant to get more. All rather impractical. They should have a supply of additional complimentary tea/coffee sachets at the entrance of the accommodation building, as Premier Inn do.

Clean, comfortable and well proportioned double room with really comfy large double bed. The addition of a sofa is welcome and a good sized smart tv too, which is nice for a standard hotel room. The staff were very friendly and very helpful at check-in, breakfast and check-out. Check in was easy at the pub and parking is plentiful and close to the accommodation block. It's extremely quiet with very little noise transfer from other rooms/guests or indeed the pub itself. Good shower and general facilities. I stayed for one night after working at a wedding venue nearby and it was exactly what I needed at an excellent rate. I'd definitely book again when working in the area. I had a full English for breakfast over at the pub where service was pleasant and friendly from the lovely lady serving that morning. It was well cooked nd went down a treat :)

Nothing really. It's a personal thing but I'd have preferred not to be on the ground floor as I didn't feel comfortable having the windows open and it would have been nice to have wifi. If there was wifi available there was nothing in the paperwork or room signage to say or give the password but not a big deal for one night.
