Great location! It’s not on the river walk but it’s half a block to walk there. Near good restaurants. Park at the city parking lot on College st. It’s safe and only $10 per day. Hotel has a retro, vintage vibe but with modern amenities. Room has a full kitchen so that was nice.

We loved the blend of unique antique features of the original building with the distinct modern upgrades that made the space feel like a home away from home. The location was perfect being very close to amazing restaurants along the Riverwalk and historical sights like the Alamo. The in-room amenities were stellar and exceptional. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable and easily put us into a deep sleep (despite the noise). The kitchenette was a life saver and the oven allowed us the option of getting an oven pizza to avoid high food prices for a couple of meals. I can’t wait to come here again. It was SO worth it since getting around downtown San Antonio is difficult with few affordable places to park. I HIGHLY recommend this option for couples, expecting mothers (like myself), small families, and those with disabilities who need a break in the day away from the heat but still want to enjoy the beauty of downtown all day. It is at a convenient location less than 100ft to the nearest river walk entrance and has amazing breakfast options less than a block away. Very sweet staff.
Since it was downtown we did experience the noise of being in the district. Although we expected and ultimately enjoyed the celebrations and music continuing into the late evening hours for the new year, the garbage trucks at night were disturbing and the old window in the bedroom rattled when it was windy in the early morning. The room 702 might benefit from a double layer of sound proof glass or a thick curtain curbing the sound.

I loved the apartment style layout. It is nice to have a near full-size kitchen. The only thing missing was a dishwasher. The location was fantastic and I would book again.
No dishwasher so all glasses used had to be hand washed and they did not provide kitchen towels to do so. The shower is extremely small - it seemed to be original so I understand the reason, it could be a problem for people. The windows were extremely dirty. If you are sensitive to noise you might want to look elsewhere - you hear garbage trucks emptying dumpsters very early each morning. To me, that is part of downtown city life.

The maverick powered by PlaceMakr represents what a proper serviced apartment should be and what they were in the early days of this markedly better alternative to conventional hotels. It was clean, homely and delivered precisely what it advertised. It should be a minimal model for booking.com for displays on it's website. Go inspect the place and see for yourself. The staff from the door people to receptionist and other attendants were warm and friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed too much for them to assist guests. I watched and observed how staff interacted with other guest and they were brilliant.
The Maverick advertises car parking, they don't have one and this is misleading. They offer a valet parking service, but a prospective customer wouldn't know that until after booking and paying for the accommodation. It was infuriating to learn that. They charge $250 for cleaning, that's really steep and not made clear in the headline price. This could be made clearer. There was previous occupant garbage in my apartment and that was unpleasant to experience, but the Apartment Manager apologised profusely and promised to challenge that in a House Keeping meeting she was attending that morning.

Great location right by the river walk and Alamo. We were able to walk to most places we wanted to see. The breakfast voucher at the local Cafe was a nice extra. The accommodation had everything we needed. Kitchen had all the equipment required to cook a full meal. Wifi was reliable and fast. Great place to stay in San Antonio if you want something more than a hotel room.
No on site parking and there is no cheap off-site parking. Best we could find was 25 a day for outside parking about a block and a half away. But considering how affordable the accommodation was given the location, it really wasnt too bad a compromise having to pay for parking.

Our accommodation was not as we booked via Booking.com, as we were provided with a very small hotel room instead of a one bedroom apartment which we booked and paid for in advance. The room we were provide was small but clean and well equipped with a compact kitchenette but was quite claustrophobic for a three day stay. We had cancelled a previous booking in favour of this accommodation because it was more spacious with separate bedroom and two living areas with a washing machine and full kitchen etc., as we were on a Texas road trip and needed those facilities. Furthermore, no breakfast was provided, contrary to our booking confirmation, which caused us great inconvenience; however, the hotel blamed this on booking.com, as they say they informed them as far back as 9th November that breakfasts had ceased. The hotel was very apologetic, but blamed Booking.com, and advised us to take the issue up with them, as they were unable to provide the accommodation we had booked. They say because it was booked via a third party booking agency, they are not responsible. We have made a complaint to booking.com for advertising misleading accommodation and await their response. The hotel is a nice place to stay and is extremely central for downtown San Antonia and only feet from the River Walk

Very cool and comfortable apartment in great central location just a short walking distance from the Alamo and the Riverwalk. The rooms were very well equipped and clean. The valet service is a bit expensive, but we were recommended a parking garage (Houston Street Garage) which is only a few blocks over and only $10 per night, which was great. There is a loading and unloading bay right in front of the apartment complex.
If you book the room with breakfast, you’re issued a coupon for a regular filter coffee and a breakfast taco at a local coffee shop. No substitutions are possible. We didn’t end up using our coupons as we didn’t want to eat the exact same thing three days in a row. Also, there are no washing machines in the apartments, as would be the case in similar apartment complexes. There is however a laundry room where you can pay to use the machines.

The hotel has an amazing location with all restaurants within walking distance, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, and the temperature of the air conditioning was easy to control.
Our room faced what seemed to be a dumpster or something similar, resulting in constant noise that started at 4 AM and went on endlessly. Additionally, in the bedroom, there was a fire safety device that emitted a bright green light every couple of minutes. It was so bright that it would light up the whole room at night, making it nearly impossible to sleep without covering our eyes.

We really enjoyed parking our cars and walking everywhere! Everything was SO CLOSE! We got there Friday afternoon and got to enjoy the live music from our window and explore Saturday evening. It was such a cool place! Really aesthetically pleasing if you’re into that type of thing. Staff were super friendly. Really enjoyed our breakfast vouchers too!
I see what everyone was saying about replacing the windows haha luckily there were earplugs in each room! Definitely wouldn’t bring kids to this location, but worth it for a group of friends looking to get away!

Booked on a whim and didn't realise river walk was over the road - bonus! Loved the detailing and style of the room. April on the front desk was very helpful too given we didn't receive our access codes. Appreciated having someone onsite to help given it's a self service type accommodation (as most of these don't).
The noise...kept us up most of the night with trucks, rubbish and construction given windows so thin. Also, we didn't get send out entrance/access codes or any details, but April on the front desk kindly helped us check in and gain access. More detail on parking options would have been good (assuming it was in the welcome email which we never received?
